On 12/5/16 I purchased a Dealflicks special for 4 movie tickets including popcorn & drinks for $24. I was unable to use the voucher before it expired, but was told by Livingsocial that I would still be able to get back the original $24 from Dealflicks. When I called Dealflicks I learned that they no longer offered tickets to any theater in the state of Colorado, one month later. AMC theaters bought Carmike and they did not have an agreement with AMC yet, so I could not use my $24. They said to call Livingsocial back to get a refund. Livingsocial refused to refund my money after speaking with a supervisor. Now trying to dispute the charge though my debit card company. Will NEVER use Livingsocial again. Horrific customer service.
refusal to refund hot air balloon ride voucher
In April of 2012 my wife bought 4 vouchers for a total of $580.00. She booked with the provider 5 times and each time the provider cancelled the flight. They then went out of business. Livingsocial refuses to refund us and is completely inept at handling the problem. This is a joke of a company. It is now 2017 and we still can't get a resolution. They are great until you need their help. Then they disappear. Please spread the word about Livingsocial to everyone you know. BUYER BEWARE!
refusal to refund.
When I purchased the coupon. I tried to make an appointment like it required. The owner NEVER picked up the phone. I informed Living Social and asked for a refund. they said they called her and it was no problem.
I tried again this week and discovered that there is no such business at the phone number or address. She went out of business.
The business has gone out of business. The coupon states that it is good for the promotional value until October 29.2017, but Living Social refuses to refund.
THE BUSINESS IS OUT OF BUSINESS.
In the State of Michigan, a coupon retains its value even after its expiration date. That is the price that I paid for it is still valid.
Living Social refuses to refund or reimburse.
afternoon tea london hilton docklands
I recently purchased two restaurant vouchers from living social. I booked the table on line. But then I received an email saying it was now cancell d no explanation or phone call.
I contacted living social who then took 2 days to reply with just a response saying contact the merchant?
I then sent another email to living social complaining and they didn't even reply this time.
I contacted the merchant direct who then said they would give me a refund and sent a message to living social. But of course still no refund or reply from living social..
I have Sent 6 emails to living social no response no refund and not even an apology
The customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I would not recommend them under any circumstances.
"yay2017" 17% discount... false advertising
On December 31st went into my email from you indicating atop page in big letters "YAY2017" with the first listed directly underneath being LEGOLAND. Your site took me to Legoland site where I bought SIX tickets expecting this special discount; however, upon completion of entering all information there was nowhere to input above code. Unsuccessful at reaching anyone at your office by telephone. And proceeded to contact Legoland as your website indicated. However, Legoland emphatically denied ability to provide this discount and indicated LIVING SOCIAL IS RESPONSIBLE party for discount. Had to wait until holiday hours over to contact your office which I did today and was told Living Social cannot provide discount as your website took me to Legoland website. Very very misleading advertising Living Social. Shame on you.
voucher/customer service
I am so disappointed with your lack of customer service and your error on my voucher. I purchased a voucher back in 2015. I realize that was a while ago and that when you are out of the promotional date of the voucher you only get the paid value. Here's the issue, at the bottom of my voucher it states that the promotional value expires on May 3, 2017. When I called Living Social about this they stated that it expired before that and they can do nothing for me. So last night I choose this restaurant based on the promotional value. I honestly would have called and asked for a credit and not have went to the restaurant if I realized that I wouldn't get the promotional value. I spent a lot of money there and thought my savings would be worth it since the voucher stated the promotional value didn't expire until May 3, 2017. I contacted Living Social and the customer service representative was rude and didn't care to hear anything I had to say. He just kept saying that it expired and I therefore get the paid value. Which I realize is how it usually works but being my voucher had a date of May 3, 2017 I should be credited or compensated that difference. I offered to email my voucher so he could see it. He didn't care to work with me one tiny bit. I said cancel my account and remove me from any emails. I can't believe how this customer service representative was acting like it's money out of his pocket, not even an apology for the confusion. I don't know how they are still in business, never had these problems with groupons. I included a screenshot of the voucher so someone can at least see what I am talking about being the customer service representative was not one tiny bit interested in what I was saying.
voucher
I purchased 4 vouchers for The Laugh Factory in Feb 2016. The promotional value expired on June 12, 2016, but it clearly states the Paid Value ($10) Expires February 13, 2021. I called to make reservations this morning and the company is out of business. I finally located a contact number for Living Social, "If you're unable to use the voucher outside of this period due to merchant contact issues, please let us know by calling us at [protected]. We're happy to help". After waiting on hold for 15 minutes was connected with a representative who told me that the refund policy is that they will only refund purchase price if the company goes out of business during the promotional period. She even told me he company was all over in California and was not out of business. Really, I should travel from Phoenix to use these vouchers? She refused to get me to a supervisor who could review this issue, and continued to argue with me that they can only honor what is in writing. I told her I wanted a credit for the paid value, and she stated that the paid value is only good with the merchant. The voucher does not say that. So much for honoring what is in writing. Finally spoke with Pierre, a Lead Supervisor, who said even though I purchased this from Living Social they don' have the money. I would advise to be careful about purchasing from this company who clearly only honors the things in writing that benefits the company.
moscow ballet nutcracker tickets in boston
On November 23 I purchased 5 tickets to the Moscow Ballet's Nutcracker performance through Living Social for December 4, 2016 at 3 pm. This was $300 payment to Living Social and included a Souvenir Nutcracker and performance booklet with each ticket. I purchased these tickets as a holiday gift to my mother-in-law who was visiting from Atlanta and my family. The Friday evening before this weekend performance, Living Social sent a brief email which I first missed thinking it was marketing, that they had canceled my purchase. This event meant a great deal to my family. Living Social was closed over the weekend and there was no direct number to the box office for the show. I did notice that tickets were still being sold. The day of the show, I arrived 3 hours early and was given no explanation as to what happened. I did, however, get 5 seats together, but paid $100 more in total and did not receive the promotional souvenirs. Of course this whole dilemma caused much stress as it was a very special event we were planning on. When I contacted Living Social, the representative was incredibly rude and told me that Living Social owes me nothing. I asked for her manager, who again told me that this is not their fault and they were refunding the amount that I paid them. However, there were many tickets available the day of the show and many people redeeming their Living Social vouchers. Why was mine cancelled with no reasonable explanation. Why was LivingSocial advertising an event and not honoring the purchase? The manager did not seem to understand the inconvenience of all of this. This purchase was a huge event for my family, and LivingSocial did not stand by their brand. The customer service could not have been worse. I asked for the manager's boss to call me and have not heard a response in 3 days. This is not a business I would ever want to do business again with. I believe they owe me the difference in price I had to pay at the door and the cost of/or the the Nutcrackers and special programs themselves.
my refund
I requested a refund from this company they gave it back as deal bucks then was told couldn't use it to buy another product they were offering. Feel as though I was totally ripped of by these guys. The second product I was going to purchase was more than my refund so would have ended up spending more with them. Very unhappy and would not recommend this site to anyone
bc house cleaning voucher
Bought a coupon from living social for 5 hours housecleaning for $85.99 on sept. 20. I called BC house cleaning on October 1 and left message. Called again October 3 and left message again. Called October 6 and no one answered. Concerned I called living social for refund and living social said I can only get credit with living social. They did not seem to care the merchant never called me back AND I AM NOT able to use the coupon. Today is October 14 and still no call back from BC cleaning.
customer service
Living Social is a great company as long as things go well, but when they don't, they are one of the worst companies that I have ever dealt with! Their customer service is virtually non-existent!
I had an issue with one of the merchants that I utilized through Living Social. They actually did damage to our property.
After being on hold for over 40 minutes, Living Social wouldn't even listen to my complaint. They said they have no responsibility what-so-ever. I asked to talk with the manager and they said she might call me back. They don't even have an email that you could use to direct complaints. I certainly won't be using them again with companies that I'm not familiar with. Buyer beware!
ended customer service
From world class customer service to no class. They completed the first phase of a company turn around in March 2016, closed their customer service center...but left all the disconnected phone numbers on their site. All disconnected. You can't email and send a note all you can do is click a refund link and it must fit one of the drop down menu items. There is zero ability to talk, email, chat or discuss anything. The help page is pathetic beyond description.
What a horrible fall from grace for a previously wonderful company.
bluetooth silicone smart watch
I purchased a Bluetooth Silicone Smart Watch from Living Social for 29.99 plus 3.99 shipping and 1.83 in tax. A few hours later another deal from Living Social was in my e-mail for what looks and is described as the same watch but now for 27.13. When I called they told me that it must be a different watch even thought it's described the same and if I want a refund on the purchase that was hours old I had to wait for it to be delivered and then return it. The website says it is 7.99 to return it which makes it not worth doing. The person I spoke to was so extremely unhelpful just saying that it's not the same watch, despite the same picture and description, and there's nothing we can do to refund it. She said they could refund 29.99 after I received it and returned it. When I pointed out that it would cost 7.99 to return the watch so I would not get 29.99 back she seemed to not understand that 35.78 (the watch plus shipping and tax) less 7.99 is 27.79 and not 29.99. It's not a lot of money just more the point of bad customer service and adverting the same item for less money and not making up the difference since it was only a few hours later. This will most likely be my last purchase from Living Social since they have horrible customer service and policies.
never again!
Booked a vacation through LivingSocial website. When I arrived to New York I called a taxi to take me to my hotel and the driver told that he never heard anything about it. We went to three different hotels and still no one knew it. I waited in the lobby of the last hotel and then the hotel manager told that the hotel I was searching for was located in Boston! So I basically was out of money, alone, with no place to stay! Tried to contact their customer service many times, but they completely ignored me. Never again!
matt danny - customer service
Livingsocial has the special with "Matt Danny" in Arcadia, CA. I purchased two vouchers and paid $17. When I went to Matt Danny to redeem the voucher, the owner insult me with "If you can not read, do not buy the voucher". So I went home without redeem the voucher. I called Livingsocial to get the refund, the customer service only refund $7. I will never deal with livingsocial or Matt Danny again.
moving service
I purchased a certificate for full service moving. Immediately after purchasing I went to look at my voucher so I could contact the moving company. It was showing up as expired and I literally JUST bought it. It has purchase date as 11/22/2015 and the voucher expired on 11/12/2015. What the hell. I then immediately went to find the button ask for a refund and there is NO button for it. I am so mad right now. Livingsocial also does not operate on the weekends so there is no one to speak with. $349 I am out until this gets refunded.
poor merchant support
I am a merchant and ran a promotion through Living Social. They were very attentive until I got my deal listed, then they were very un-attentive. They listed my deal in only one category, although it was appropriate for three. I sent an email to my Production Coordinator asking for it to be added to the other two categories. She sent me a pre-written response that did not answer my questions. I sent another email and left a voice mail, neither of which were answered. I sent a complaint through Living Social's Merchant Center, asking for the issue to be escalated to a supervisor, and got no response. In frustration I emailed my Production Coordinator telling her I would never list a promotion through Living Social again. I finally received an email from a Senior Merchant Services Representative asking how he could help me (spending more of my time, rather than taking his own time to review the emails). So I forwarded all of the emails and specifically said I would prefer to resolve it by by phone than email, and gave him my phone number to call me. His response was "Are you wanting to alter your current promotion? You can reach me by replying to this email directly as you have or call me at [protected]", very clearly not understanding, not listening, and not caring. I will never list an offer with Living Social again.
playstation refund!!!
I purchased a PlayStation 4 using the living social website as a Christmas present for my boyfriend. It arrived damaged and poorly packaged with the UK plug taped to the outside of the box. I complained to customer services 13 days ago and in the meantime have called numerous times to find out the situation. They assured me I would receive an email with the return details 7 working days after my first complaint. I did not receive an email and have continued to call and complain. I have been told they are trying to obtain the merchants return details. They now have 48 hours to send me the details however I have no hope as they are full of false promises. I have proceeded to enquire with citizens advice. This company should not be trading if they cannot stick to their promises.

paying for services which won't be rendered
LivingSocial is a scam. Paid $ 39, - for a "Garage door tune-up worth $ 149, -" (voucher said "adjusting and balancing" garage door). Technician who would not even identify himself showed up without any other tools than a spray can and left without adjusting the door which is out of alignment. The company named on the voucher does not exist. LivingSocial's comment: "The service was rendered". No refund. Basically you prepay for services which later are not rendered. This is close to fraud.
wont honor promotion
Promote that if you have 3 friends buy the deal, yours will be free. Bought my deal and my sister bought a deal and set up accounts for her 2 sons to buy the deal.
Received email that my deal was free. Then - NOTHING. Called. They said sorry but no. we will instead give you a $10 deal bucks. Not what the deal was - it was supposed to be one free deal - worth $44.
Actually told me I should have had some random person purchase the deals for the kids. What?
Will NEVER USE THE SITE AGAIN.
