I have been getting billed for charges from this merchant since September 2008, first on my credit cards then my personal bank account. I never authorized these charges nor did I order anything from this company. I am actively attampting to stop all future charges from this merchant through my credit card companies and my bank. These are unauthorized charges and they continue to show up on my statements every month. In fact twice in one month on one charge card. I have now been charged over the limit from my credit card company and over draft fee from my bank because of these charges. This company needs to be stopped.

My account has been charged for 31.79 on 5/13 when nothing was ordered. The month before my son used my card with permission to buy Xbox points and then took my card out of his Xbox so it wouldn't be charged for anything else on accident - today after seeing this he went in on-line and there was my card number still there even tho' it is off the xbox system when you go online with the system itself. The point is - he did not buy anything since 2 months ago. I am so tired of Xbox and their billing fraud that its making me sick. I do not want to have to get a new card issued because of this and that is what my bank will have to do. I hate these people...

I just got of a two hour phone call for xbox live unautherised charges to my credit card For March gold membership that they took out in June.( 3 months after ) I had actually placed a stop so they wouldnt take the money out using the cc I had on file but they did anyway. They said that in March 2 hours after they charged the card I had unautherised it so they took it out in June. I said how is that posible when I signed into live it said they were trying to autherise my card and I needed to update the settings so they could do so. She tells me well so sorry for the trouble but theres nothing we can do Yes it was unautherised but it wasent in March and so They have my money and thats that. I have been a member of live for years and this really did show me what kind of compony that are. I will never buy another thing from xbox live again. And the sad thing is, its a great service.

Bit Defender's rescue CD will remove it. Google it, download the .ISO file, burn a CD with ImgBurn, boot with the CD and clean.

When they do a "repair" they generally send you a refurbished system. Refurb does not always mean it's fixed.

Secondly - why switch to another system that is also plagued with problems? Apple's items have some major issues (just look at the new iPhone) and the PS3 has just as many problems as a 360.

You bought an aftermarket piece that Microsoft expressly states to not use. It voids your warranty and can actually break your system - it causes a terrible power drain that can fry it. Good thing you didn't mention it to them or you would have been [censor] out of luck anyways.

As you can see there is no such website. I have been hit three times with $54.11 charges through my Wells Fargo Debt Card. My card was not stolen or lost. I do not know where they got this card number because I use it only for household bills. I do not shop with this card or account.

Wells Fargo has been very helpful and professional.

I have a prepaid debit card.
I spent 2 hours trying to figure out where this MICROSOFT *BILLIN
BILL.MS.NET WA charge was coming from in the amount of $8.68. Which is nothing really; But if you let one unauthorized charge through then what's to say more won't follow? So I wanted to get on top of this right away. My first attempt was to dial the number directly related to the charge: [protected] and talk to a representative. I was transferred to the xbox department [protected] and the total time of the first phone call took 52 minutes. Xbox department did a search and told me the charge was NOT coming from xbox live and to redial the phone number that was on the charge. I took down a case number and hung up.
I redialed the first phone number [protected]) and spent another 35 minutes with them on the phone explaining how its not coming from xbox live and how i want to know where it is coming from. They tried to transfer me to xbox live numerous times but i interrupted them each time declaring that it is not coming from xbox live as that department had already done an extensive search. I had to give my card # to numerous agents before finally deciphering that no such charge should exist. I then asked for a case number for all of this to be documented and the representative tells me he cant give me a case # because there is no charge coming from them to put the case # under. So I then move on to say; "You have no record of a charge being sent to this credit card yet somehow there is a charge made on my statement?" Before hanging up. I then called my debit card company (3rd time now) and told them all the events leading up to this phone call.

In short it took alot of hold time (thank god for speakerphone) and alot of "transfer to another person to try to assist you" before finally coming to the conclusion that this charge should not exist. So i filed to dispute the charge which will take another 7-10 days for forms to arrive in the mail; then another 30-60 days to finalize.
So i am goin to go make a new debit card and transfer my funds to that card and leave this account open with $0. In 2 months I should have $9 on it; I'll buy myself some food with it and enjoy the meal.

Hope this helps future people that come to this page as i have.

I ordered microsoft office 10 as part of microsoft's student deal. my download and back-up disc were arranged through digital river international. Today i recieved an email from PayPal to tell me an item I had bought had put my Visa a/c into overdraft. I contacted my bank and was told that although the $113 for the microsoft software had been deducted from my account, another $113 had been put 'on hold'. because I only leave enough money in that account for any Internet purchases I know I'll be making, that extra $113 has overdrawn my account. This has not only caused an inconvenience and put me in the red with PayPal, it has alos cost me, so far, $15 in overdraft fees.
I have emailed Digital River (I can't find a ph number contact anywhere) and asked them to fax an authorisation to my bank for the hold on the money to be reversed. meanwhile, i have to transfer more money into that account to cover not only that bogus amount but also to cover the fees and the PayPal transaction, otherwise the a/c will remain overdrawn.
Looking at all the problems people seem to have had with Digital River, I can't understand why big companies such as microsoft and norton continue to make use of them.

This company charged my account and I do not have a xbox. Also NO ONE in my family has my debit card number. I have only paid bills on this card online so either my utlilities or cable has been compromised. I tried to call XBOX and got a answering machine that sounded like a home phone asking for my name and phone number. Since my card number has been stolen to make these charges I refused to give them anymore information and have chosen to have my CC company cancel the charges, cancel my card as stolen and issue me a new card.
Funny how they charged just as much as I had in My checking account.
I am now going to be late in making my insurance payment while they clear this up.
This company needs to be shut down and frankly I do not believe they are actually part of Microsoft but a third party using the microsoft software Etc.
Get these people OFF the WEB!

A couple months ago I purchased Lips for the my Xbox 360. If you don't know, Lips is a karaoke game in which you and your friends sing along to lyrics on the screen. The box and advertisements for the game state 1-6 players can play the game at a time. As a singing game, I was led to believe that meant 6 could sing. You can even purchase additional microphones. I had friends over to play the game, for which I also purchased additional songs, but we had problems getting more than two players able to sing at a time. I examined the manual and found nothing. We finally did some internet research and eventually discovered, on non-microsoft forums, only 2 players can sing at one time but four others can use the controllers as "noisemakers." The manual discusses the noisemakers, but nothing anywhere on the box or in the manual states that singing is limited to 2 and the only possible way to play beyond those two is as noisemakers. It's all about singing and using the microphones.

After the failure at the party, I contacted Microsoft pursuant to contacts listed on the consumerist.com, speaking of my displeasure with the deceptive and misleading advertising and asking for a refund for which I'd gladly return the game to them as my entire reason for purchasing the game no longer existed. A week later, I was contacted by a member of Microsoft support. The gist of the response was "Microsoft does not see this as a problem. but buy our new version of the game, it allows up to four to sing!" I walked through each element (the box not containing that information, which a reasonable consumer would be looking at, the manual also not containing that and finally needing to research on completely unrelated sites). And the response was the same.

I've been a loyal xbox consumer. I've gone through two red rings of death and always supported Microsoft because the response and support has always been positive on their end. After this, I no longer am.

I'd like to make it known that Microsoft was deceptive in their dealings with this game and warn others away from it.

A warning to anyone considering purchasing the Xbox 360 - If your experience with Powercare & Microsoft is anything like mine has been - if it breaks, you aint getting another one via the warranty route, Powercare and Microsoft are not in the least bit interested in honouring the warranty for the RROD problem... if they were Im sure i would of had a new console by now, or at least given the oppertuynity to get a refund! Yes, they wont give me a refund on their faulty console (my second one to get the RROD problem)... nor have they replaced the console, so EFFECTIVELY, what has happened, I FEEL like I've been robbed of thousands of Rands... and they laughing all the way to the bank! If I hear another sob story about bad weather in the Durban harbour STILL preventing the ship to dock (2 weeks later) Im going to soil myself, guys, who you kidding!?!?! I want my replacement!

I noticed last night that I had a microsoft charge of $8.68 reoccurring a few times and after a trip to the bank and going through xbox live, I found the answer. When you pay for xbox live with a credit card they automatically sign you up for auto-renewal, so it takes the money out each time it renews. I had to log into my xbox account and switch the auto-renewal off. It kinda sucks that they are tricking people with this. If you don't have an xbox, I would say maybe one of your family members signed up at one time. If not, someone might have your information. Just thought I'd share what I learned with everyone who was in the same boat as me. Good luck!

My XBox has the RROD fault, this is a known fault by Microsoft. So I logged the call with Microsoft and they confirm the unit is still under warranty and they put this in the call. They then gave me a reference number and told me to log a call with PowerCare. I emailed PowerCare the forms, and told them that Microsoft has confirmed that the unit is still under warranty. PowerCare wanted a copy of the proof of purchase, which I unfortunately no longer have. They now want to charge me R680-00 for a unit out of warranty handling fee + another R250-00 for courier costs.

So Microsoft sell you a dodgy product, hand the problem over to PowerCare who then charge you more to get it fixed. All this, while Microsoft have confirmed that the product is still under warranty with a known fault.

I urge anyone thinking of buying an Xbox, DON’T! Rather buy the Sony PS3, I wish I had and would rather spend the money they want, to fix a faulty product, on something reliable! I will not be throwing any more money at a faulty Microsoft gaming product.

how and who do we call to get them to stop charging our credit cards? I need phone numbers. I know that if you file a police report with your local police department then they can issue a supina to have Microsoft release information on the person that actually charged the charges without your consent and they will be able to give you and the police the email address and then they will send police to the address where the charge originated from.. this information is for those people that are being charged and their kids DID NOT charge your account..

Recently my brother and sisterinlaw went Psyco on me companing about the web sites that I visit and the mens briefs that I look at. Had they been open to reading the story I wrote then they might understand. But they were not. I checked my email system and found share on but no selections for email address to share with. Could it be that my brother has entered my email address in his system? If I find this is the case then Microsoft will get a class action lawsuit that will include felony menacing. How about it Microsoft, are you facilitating Federal felony menacing?

Xbox 360 is possibly the worst gaming console ever released to the mainstream market. Not long after you purchase the console will it come up with an error or it will just not switch on! Inevitably 70% of people who buy an Xbox 360 will experience some sort of issue with their console!

If this is a known fact why would they not revise the method that it is assembled or at least make a better product and not over charge people for it!

Im not so sure all of you are actually being billed my Microsoft as in my statement the information is different for instance *BILLING BILL.MS ect. does not show up anywhere in my billing description. I beleive that many of you are suffering from your CC# being stolen and used without your consent. I do know that a few months back I read about (dont rememeber where) people specifically stealing numbers for supposed use on what appeared to be xbox accounts. All I know is that the legitimate fees from Xbox Live charged to my account do not say anything like what Im reading about here.

During the recent LIVE dashboard update, our 360 stopped in the middle of loading which stopped the 360 from working at all; no games, no anything. I contacted the 1-800-4MY-XBOX telephone number where I was greeting my a gentleman named Ariel. I was told by him that the only way to fix the problem was for me to download the update to my PC, then burn it to CDs, and then insert them into my 360. He said the problem was because the update was proving to be “full of holes and glitches” and the servers were “constantly crashing”. I informed him that I was not a BETA tester so the glitches and servers were not really my problem and that I was not interested in wasting my materials (CDs) to fix their problems. I was told that I would receive adequate compensation for the CDs after I burned them and finished the download. I was given a ticket number and asked to give that when calling back for the compensation. After doing the work and using the materials, I returned the phone call and gave my ticket number. Then a supervisor explained to me that he would not compensate for the CDs, even though to continue to use a service or hardware that I have paid for the update was required.

As an adult customer that has spent several thousands of dollars on their products, this kind of service is completely unacceptable. Especially since many of the digital items I have purchased are no longer working since the update. This will be the very last Microsoft gaming platform I allow in my house and I would warn other consumers against purchasing their products due to sub-par service and poorly tested updates.

I am remedying the “compensation” for the time and materials by sending the CDs and bill for labor, materials, and shipping and handling to Microsoft since the expenses were approved by a Microsoft representative.

BACKGROUND: I purchased an xbox 360 2 years ago. It broke within 6 months, caused by the infamous Red Ring of Death power light. They sent me a totally different 360, which broke in 6 months from a non-red ring related issue, this was the video display crapping out. I have had 2 more (4 total) in 2 years. I haven't paid for anything but shipping (still about $80), because they know it was their own problem. They released a plagued product like Microsoft always does, and millions of millions were sent in to be fixed.

Because my 4th xbox broke last month from the Red ring, I decided to go buy a NEW xbox 360 Elite, the sweet shiny black 360 with built-in wifi and 256Gb hard drive. It is sooooo damn loud it's unbelievable! It was marketed as this fast and super quiet superior machine. Well it's not. They took out the red ring completely, but it still runs just as slow as my other 360s, and its 2x as loud! The fan on this thing is like a jet turbine, seriously you can hear it humming from the next room over.

It also gets super HOT! The main problem with the previous model was that people like me would play for 6 hours straight or leave it running, like a computer, and it would overheat. There weren't enough fans or vents. So they decide to build a larger vent and larger fan... that's fine. But it's still VERY VERY hot and loud. I'm worried it will fry again... let's just wait and see. Regardless I am not happy with another Microsoft product.

My current 360 console is a replacement for a previous console that was not even in working condition when I bought it. I called customer service and got it fixed. I later suffered the infamous red ring of death and had it sent off to be repaired. Months later it was returned to me, but by that time I had become frustrated and bought a new one, giving the other one to a family member.
My new console has now suffered the same fate as the old (red ring of death), and reviews that I am now reading indicate that this is a huge problem for many gamers. Why does the hardware on this machine fail so often? I will advocate that the games and graphics are brilliant and very entertaining, but if the console does not work, then it means nothing.
I find myself unwilling to commit myself to another saga of trying to get this unit repaired because : 1) the warranty is almost certainly gone by now, so at my own cost, 2) because it is now evident that Microsoft customer service is substandard, rude and almost entirely pointless, 3) it will take an irritatingly long time to have it returned to me and 4) I have no assurance that this incident will not reoccur. Why should I spend more money, time and energy on a substandard product?
Your standards of service and product quality are appalling and I do believe I'd rather go with another company for gaming. Perhaps a SONY PS3 will be more my style. At least I can somewhat recoup my losses on games as more and more stores these days offer trade-ins.
