I brought a tire from south Blvd 5021 location tire was a little smaller but the sales associate Scott Pinckney was very nasty he had a bad attitude towards me when I came back to discuss my concerns I didn't appreciate that he should have never lost his cool with me because I came to him with nothing respect the tire was the a 215/60R16 95T but my other...
Read full review of National Tire & Battery [NTB]attempted $60 labor charge to replace windshield wiper blades
Visited the NTB store located on Springhill road, McClean VA on Friday January 11, 2019@5:00p.m.
Went in for an oil change, purchased windshield wiper blades and wanted them installed. Cashier replied the entire service would be $152 and change. Then asked what was causing the charge to be so high for the service I was seeking. He then said there is a $60 labor charge to replace the wiper blades. Huh? He showed me the screen for the charges and the labor. Told him to skip the installation and give me the blades and I would get them installed. The complaint is the labor charge and the fact the person attempted to charge it. Not sure how I appeared to the person other than being a female. Unfortunately, I know enough about cars because I am the sole responsible person taking care of my vehicle and have to know in situations like this one. This complaint is for awareness to be careful how this store attempts to solicit charges that do not make sense. Where else in the U.S. does NTB charge $60 for wiper blade installation and folks pay? Suggest a policy change for all NTB stores if there is a labor charge of $60 for wiper blade installation. Females are not dumb. We know about car maintenance. I said nothing else. Waited in the lobby for the service. NTB folks replaced the blades for free. Was cool with it but upset that the $60 labor charge was attempted.

tire service
On 12-13-18 I called your store at 2395 Crain HWY Waldorf MD 20601 explaining to the gentlemen on the other end that I think I have a problem with a slow leak in all my tires and that I have to put air in my front right tire every 3 days. He then proceeded to explain to me that it is the holiday season and that they are extremely busy. He then ran off a list of other places in the area to take my vehicle to. I then stated that I bought my tires from ntb and that I have a warranty. He then said ok, well bring it in when you get a chance. I responded to the store the next day on my day off, 7am . The gentlemen behind the desk then told me that I would have to leave it here and they might be able to get to it today. Since that was my only transportation I couldn't do that. I then made a appointment for 12-20-18 9am, that was my next day off. Emergency in the family caused me to be off the week of 12-16-18. I then took a chance and visited the store on 12-18-18 at 7am, first person in the store. The same gentlemen then proceeded to explain to me that they are very busy today and then showed me on his computer how many appointment he had in front of me. He then had the nerve to tell me that he will not probably be able to get to my vehicle until 7pm that night, if i'm not mistaken the store close at 7pm. It was clear to me that I was not going to get my vehicle serviced here. Later that day I then called another one of your store located at 1160 Smallwood dr Waldorf MD 20603. I explained to the gentlemen on the other end my problem and he was very professional, understanding and inviting. Hen the said to bring it in anytime and they would take a look at it. I responded to the store on 12-20-18 at 7am. The gentlemen behind the desk was very professional, reassuring and pleasant. I was out of there by 8am. Didn't know at the time that the person I spoke to on the phone and who was there to let me in that morning was Mr. Steve Briggs the service manager. No hassle no fuss, one of the best service I ever had! My name is joseph jennifer 7302 seawood ct Clinton, MD 20735 PHONE#[protected]
tpms part being removed from tire
Good morning,
I should have sent an email right after this incident occurred but instead I tried to be diplomatic about it, as I sought additional help on this matter.
Back in mid to late October of this year, I called into your NTB store in Alexandria, VA off of Edsall Road and spoke with Matthew, the manager. I informed that I needed to get one new tire before my inspection was due on my vehicle. We scheduled the date and I took my vehicle in on a Sunday morning to get the tire replaced; the driver's side, front tire to be exact.
During my time there, Matthew called me to come to the desk where he had in his hand, the TPMS piece for my tire. He stated that it 'came' off and they could not put it back on unless I paid for the piece and he would not charge me labor - when I inquired as to this pricing, he stated it would be $150.00 - now I am no mechanic or tire savvy person and after that he stated that it would not harm my vehicle and that the TPMS light would remain on until I get it fixed. Now keep in mind, he didn't say it was his responsibility as I wasn't there during the tire change - they put the new tire on the back and moved the old one on the front. There was no issue with the TPMS before so as to why I am now being held to get this fixed I was puzzled. He then stated that my vehicle would pass inspection with the light on and I shouldn't have any issues with that. He then gave me the piece, told me to hold on to it, as if the system would read it still ... and I could go and get the piece and he would then charge me only labor - the story kept changing and instead of making a blow up about it, I just left it alone.
Well I had to come back to the NTB last week as I had gotten a screw in the new tire - luckily it did not puncture. I asked to speak with Matthew as this was still not settling with me and I was told that he no longer works for NTB.
I know that I should have reached out earlier but I am doing so now after being irritated and frustrated every time I look down at the TPMS light. Why is it my fault to pay to have a new one added back to my vehicle?
I would like to have some type of decent answer to this as I am an NTB card holder and tried to be understanding about an error not on my part but that of a manager who at the time, could have cared less and avoided helping me by providing me with other ways to get more money when it wasn't my fault but that of the person who worked on my vehicle and by the way, never came to explain/apologize. Every time I have been to NTB, I have always met the mechanic.
I await to hear back from you soon.

incorrect product placed on vehicle
I am emailing to inform you of a mistake that was made to my vehicle on December 6th at the NTB of Williamsburg. I drove over a bolt and I had to replace all 4 tires on my vehicle because it was "time" anyways. My vehicle is a 2011 GMC Acadia Denali and the required tires are 255/55R20. This is the tires I paid for and that were supposed to have been put on my vehicle. However, when I got home and decided to clean the tires, I noticed that they were not 255/55R20 and that they were 275/55R20. I was out of town when I discovered the mistake and called first thing Monday morning. Although the store manager was very eager to help, he didn't get back to me about a time to put the tires on until I called him back just now (Friday, Dec 14th at 1415).
I have not be offered any discount or really any formal apology for this extremely large mistake and for all the extra time I am having to give up to have it corrected. I am hoping that my car doesn't have any perminent damage and that when I finally go in on my day off tomorrow, (Saturday, Dec. 15th) that it doesn't take 3 hours again to have the correct tires put on like it did on my first visit. I just wanted your office to be aware of this mistake and hopefully you can take the appropriate action to ensure that it doesn't happen to anyone else in the future. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rene Hawkey

tire rotation
Went to NTB in Greensburg PA on December 7th for a scheduled tire rotation with a 12:30 appointment time. Dropped my vehicle off at 12:00 pm and spoke with Larry and let him know I would be leaving the vehicle but had to be done by 3pm. He said no problem they were busy so he would put 2oclock on the invoice so that it would be done on time. Never heard from NTB so at 3:15pm I went to pick up my vehicle and it was never even touched! Larry said "I'll get you in right now" at which time I could not wait and was extremely mad and the manager Mark was no where to be found. So I called Mark Flaherty on my way home and explained what had happened and he did not seem to care because he "was busy, short staffed and needs to hire more help." So rebooked an appointment for today Sunday the 9th at 1:30pm. When I arrived for my appointment I was told I would not be serviced today by Dan Worley. He said 2 people called off work and he was the only one able to help me and he was to busy to take care of me!
damaged wheels
Dropped my car off December 5th around 11 am to get 2 new tires put on and also the new tires to be rotated to the front. I recently bought my car 6 months ago from dealership used. The wheels had locking lug nuts on them and the shop was having a hard time getting them off. They ended up rounding the locking lug nuts on 3 out of 4 tires. From 11 am to 7 pm they worked on it only managing to get 3 tires done and said I had to come to pick up the car tomorrow. They also showed me how they had attempted to extract the lug nut at first and without success, they took the entire wheel and hub assembly off in one piece. They also tried drilling the stud out of the wheel hub from the back to get the lug nut to come off. I ended up going back this morning on December 6th and taking my wheel to a car dealership so they could get the hub off. Dropped wheel off around 8 30 and after 11 am they called me and told me my car was done. I spoke with the manager about the wheel being damaged and he told me it was alright because the cover was going to hide it and also the lug nuts. He told me he wasn't going to charge me for the labor which for 10 and a half hours of work would have equated to around $1, 081. Along with the tires and mounting it would have brought my total to a whopping $1, 529. Now all I needed was one new tire and I ordered two because I like to change them in sets and somehow it turned into over a 24-hour job. I am grateful they did not try to charge me for labor but at the same time my wheel is still damaged and the manager refuses to do anything about it.

After contacting corporate and them doing a follow up investigation they stated that it was my fault I told them to finish the job after they had already rounded 3 lug nuts and tried to return the car to me in that condition

hutto texas store
We have been using the NTB in Hutto, TX for many years now. The customer service and product have always been subpar but due the convenience and guarantees from new management in the revolving door of employees at this store that you hire every other month we have continued to use them. I am done with the empty promises and defective merchandise putting my family in danger! If you look back on my husband's history with this location he has even had to be towed because your store "forgot" to put a part back on his truck. Now you have new management that doesn't want to fix problems that have resulted again from your brake products. Yesterday I spoke to Jason the service manager and asked for a copy of all records for our truck. When we went to pick up the truck we ask again for these records, he smiled and pulled them out of the trash. Once I looked at them they were only for the brakes. I ASKED FOR ALL RECORDS! We have now been told that the Hutto Store will no longer install brakes on our vehicle but would love to do oil changes-what a joke! Now I have contact the District Manager Brian Blanchard twice with no response. I have worked in customer service for over 20 years, if I ever treated customers this way I would be unemployed. It is amazing that you continue to hire incompetent employees! Have you looked at your ratings lately? I completely understand why are so bad! At this point I want to be refunded for my ENTIRE brake job and I will happily go somewhere else for service.
Sincerely,
Jessica Keas [protected]
timing
I just don't know what happening with NTB these days. I've always had good relationships with the managers and Service Techs, but noticed in the past few years a dramatic change in the quality of work, available staff and completion times. I don't consider staff standing around smoking vape pipes a priority over a 12:00 Pm state safety and emission service...

I recently had service at your Deptford, NJ location to have rotors, brakes, rear outer different, rear wheel seal, pinion shaft seal, real wheel bearing, repacks and so on. Well I recently was in an accident when I ended up in a ditch because my brakes locked on me. I took it back to the shop and asked Todd the manager to inspect the work because this has never happened before. Well he was rather snappy with me and insisted I needed new tires. He was correct, but my tires were not the cause of the accident. I asked him to at least put it on the lift and inspect the rear. Well he said he did and I know he didn't because I took the vehicle to Pep Boys and found this problem. The rear brakes were totally drenched with fluid. The service manager told me everything that NTB preformed needed to be redone, brakes, rotors, packing and so on. I spent close to $1500 in service at NTB and this is the treatment that I received. I was also quoted between $500 and $900 and to my surprise when I arrived and the man gave me an invoice for nearly $1500 my jaw dropped.
I would love some feedback or a refund on this subject because I will not deal with Todd again as he was rude and ignorant.
first oil change
Good afternoon, I am more than displeased with the service, unprofessionalism, and rude treatment that me and my son received today at NTB, as we arrived to get his first oil change. Let me reveal that manager Tracey Howe was extremely non-empathetic to our quality of time and patience. I believe, he forgot that we were paying customers. And, as paying customers there is a level of respect that you do not cross. We arrived at 11:41am for a 12pm appointment while Adrian was checking out a customer, we kindly waited in line. Adrian then made a time consuming phone call to a customer, then after that call he could not locate the paperwork needed for the customer to check out. The customer said to us that he'd been waiting 2 hrs for an oil change. My son and I were furious, it is now 12pm, all we really want to do is check in and have a seat. Manager Tracey Howe then stepped over to the other register to assist us at 12:05. We walked over expounding on our frustration of having to wait in line for such a lengthy time with no acknowledgement of our time. I stated that we were early when we arrived, now we are late, that I did not want to wait here for two hours like the previous gentleman did for only an oil change, that this only occurs when I come to this location. Manager Tracey then commenced to argue with me, and eluded to the fact that I had an attitude. He went on to argue with me. I frantically said, how dare you argue with a customer, who has a right to be impatient and frustrated with the service that has been displayed. He continued to argue with me. I was dismayed. I asked him to cease conversation and check us out as quickly as he could.
It was later revealed that the young man, Adrian was new; with that I have compassion. He later apologized because he visually saw us waiting the entire time.
The above reasons of unprofessional behavior, rudeness, and lack of acknowledgement for a customers time are all prime reasons of why I stopped bringing my vehicle to this particular NTB. My sons first experience was devastating, so unfortunately this will be his last time as well. This location is convenient to our home. I have experienced great service at other locations in the surrounding Atlanta area, this center will soon need to catch up to a better quality of service.

tire installation
I ordered tires on the website 4 touring a/s on november 17th 2018. I made my apointment for november 21st 2018, when I arrived they said that all my tires are not in yet. The clerk told me hed call me when they come in didnt offer me another brand of tire and he didnt try to see if another shop or whe. His truck was going to come in. They should have called me to tell me about this inconvenience. He told me they shouldnt have let me schedule the apointment online since it takes a while for the tires to arrive. But the website said get them by the next day or so in store. He didnt go out of his way to try to accommodate the inconvenience and I did not leave happy. He presented to me bad costumer service. Im not sure what the gentlemans name was.
the service at west nashville on charlotte pike
I came to NTB with an appointment for tires and alignment. I was told it would take 1 and a half hours at the most. I arrived for my appointment to a full waiting area. There were customers that came early for their appointments which were scheduled after mine. The were taken care of before me and are now gone. I'm the only one here and it been 2 hours and 47 minutes. Not 1 staff person has come to me to explain the long wait. I just went to the woman at the front and asked if the tires needed to come from somewhere else? Trying to understand why! She said " oh no we had them in stock... it's just been busy" I asked her why I have been left to the end when others came and went while I've been here. She said they only have one tire machine and there's a line for the staff.
As a business owner and employer, I would like to know when my employees are demonstrating such poor customer service.
I'm spending $700.
I won't be coming back to this store and I will be sure to spread the word!
oil change
order # [protected] Went into your Crestwood, il location and was not pleased one bit. Its seems as though the employee that serviced my jeep was in a bit of a rush doing the job. this employee did the oil change but did not put the oil cap on my brand new 2018 jeep renagade. as my fiance was driving oil was spewing everywhere .. its all over my engine (smelled that burning), its all over the hood underneath, and it sprayed all over my windshield. that is not safe at all . our car couldve caught fire and then where would that have left us . they were very rude and unprofessional when we went back in to voice our concerns. they practically brushed us off like that wasnt an important issue. they lied and said the manager would be back in 15 mins to speak to us then it turned into 30 mins.. the manager never showed so we didnt get to speak to anyone. we called around looking for someone that might have our oil cap and because its brand new no one had it and it would have to be ordered. luckily my fiance looked under the hood again and found it just sitting under there. so that means the guy never put the oil cap on. that couldve really damaged our car and we couldve been left without a new car we just purchased not even 2 months ago . this is very unacceptable .
tires and employee
Ask for two front new tires. Appointment was made. Leon was the employee. Brought my car in paid $416. Change walked out and two new tires where put on the back of my van. I wanted two new tires put on the front and never said i wanted them rotated and never got told or asked any differently. Leon said he just assumed that i should now that. That employee doesnt have a very hard job he should share more information instead of assumming anything. Nothing was done except lots of sorrys and then seemed not to care. My husband switched the tires back when he got home from work. And i want to be reinbrust for labor charges immediately that was the worst costumer service i have ever had and will never come back there and never recommend ntb in hudson ohio
service with false advertisement
I have experience incompetence actions that have caused multiple visits to the store. These include bait and switch to take advantage of a disabled person's fixed income, from NTB servicing, at the Bedford location. The original manager that convinced me to take advantage of a four tire purchase on August 25, 2018, was no longer there (Anthony Wilson), as part of the wheel ailment package. I was one of the first customers to arrived with my vehicle, at 8:00 a.m. of entrapment that happened on November 03, 2018. I visited the store with my receipt of the previous tire purchase that includes a wheel ailment and flat tire. I had been in the store for such a long time that I witnessed a so-called customer take a tire without paying. The service took upon themselves to give me an inspection of the vehicle of stabilizer bars needed. Upon leaving the left side of the front end was damaged and noisy. I call an was scheduled to return to the store, which in minutes was told the noise was due to front mount which includes manually made destruction. Then the following morning another tire was flat on the vehicle. NTB, I am invested and forced to constantly returned to the store and ask to fork up more money after hours of waiting for each repair to the point that servicing of my vehicle is hidden from my viewing. I am asking to follow-up in court vs. going back and forth and continually being used for their personal gain when they should have included the mount service neede with any estimates they volunteered to provide.
new tires & oil change service
My husband arrived at NTB in Dunbar, WV on 11/01/18 at 2:20pm. He had made an appt for an oil change and new tire installation. He chose to wait on his truck until the services requested were completed. My husband is on call 24/7 and had to miss an entire days work due to waiting on the employees to take care of his vehicle. This is a fleet managed vehicle. My husband uses a private company to pay for maintenance on his company vehicle. My husband chose NTB for today's maintenance because he had previously received services here and was pleased.
It is now 5 minutes after closing and my husband is STILL waiting on his vehicle to be completed. It is 5 minutes after the posted hour of closing. Multiple customers have talked with my husband and agreed that this is absurd and there is no cause for this. This is a terrible way to do business and treat customers in this regard. If I do not receive any response or resolution, I will have no other choice but to contact the Attorney Generals office!
fraudulent alignment
Alignment was WORSE after the visit and the tech told my wife that only the "middle values" (Total Toe, Steer Ahead, Thrust Angle) were the only values that matter and that those were green and she should be happy.
Yet the machine printout (which is exceedingly difficult to get them to give to you) showed that ALL 4 tires had yellow or red values AFTER the alignment.
The Camber causes rounding wear and ALL 4 tires were yellow or red.
The Toe in was amber on one tire. This will cause even but accellerated wear.
And yet a TIRE TECH says this is all OK.
Combine this with not giving the alignment report also makes me suspicious this is intentional to cause tires to wear out faster and sell more alignments.
This type of problem started the instant NTB took over that store from Merchants.
service at ntb york rd lutherville md
I had an appointment today, Tuesday to have my tire fixed, oil change and light bulb replaced in my passenger side headlight. I was quoted $30 after the price was checked.
I left my car on the NTB lot last night, Monday, because my spare went flat. I called first thing Tuesday morning and asked if someone could pick me up from the light rail on Aylesbury Rd. This was at 11:30am. The manager called me back and I explained where on Aylesbury Rd and I told him I was not there yet but I will be there in 15 minutes. He acted like he didn't understand what I was saying. I had to explain several times I was on the light rail and I would be there within 15 minutes. I said I would call as soon as I arrived. I called back in 10 minutes, he did not answer. My call went straight to voicemail. I called the store and spoke to a lady and I told her I had walked to York Rd in front of Chipotle's. This is the first time I had mentioned Chipotle's. The lady told me the manager was trying to find me. To stay where I was. I don't know why he was looking for me because I told him I was in route. I waited 20 minutes and called back to the store, I spoke to the same lady. she told me the manager was looking for me to stay where I was. I had not moved. I was standing on York Rd watching everyone go by and in and out of Chipotle's. I called back to the store in 20 minutes, which is now I have been standing in the sun for 40 minutes. The same lady answered the phone and said the manager is looking for you stay where you are. I waited another 20 minutes, now I have been standing an hour in the sun for 60 minutes. I asked if the manager has left yet, the lady is now rude and said, Miss I told him 3 times to pick you up, I will call you back. So, I called the managers cell he finally answered. He was walking out of Chipotle's with a bag. He was in Chipotle's for over a hour having lunch. I saw him go in Chipotle's I just didn't know that was him. He parked his car on the side and went inside. I asked him why he went inside. He told me he was told I was inside Chipotle's.
I can not believe I was left waiting standing outside in the sun for over a hour. This manager treated me with such disregard. And went to lunch inside the restaurant. When I got to the store the lady would not even look at me. The manager is real slick he called me to give me the price to replace the light bulb was $54 and $90 for labor. I told him I was quoted $30. He told me he would call me back. He didn't and did the work. I was charged $54.
If there was a problem picking me up I wish someone would have told me. I would have taken a cab. The manager used this situation to go have lunch.
I can't believe I was treated so bad. This is no way to treat customers. I deserve an explanation why this happened. And a return for the amount I was over charged.
