recommend work not needed
Taking my small pickup in for two new tires, they quoted me an outrageous price for the pair since I last purchased one of the same brand two months prior. After I complained and was calling another location, they came down to a reasonable price and I accepted. During the work, the salesperson came to me in the waiting room and indicated that I needed a...

I went into this NTB store today to have simple brake lights installed. I was told that they would be about $2 each and that there would be no charge to install them. I was floored when I was charged a whopping $37. The person at the store told me that the computer "marked up" the item and he had no control over that but he'd give me a free oil change when I come back the next time. There won't be a next time for me! My policy is that if you lie to me and cheat me once, why would I be stupid enough to come back for seconds. I wish that I'd gone on line to read about this NTB location sooner. The reviews are dreadful and now I know why! Trust me everyone, there's much better service elsewhere in Pearland, Houston and surrounding areas.
they are customer nonservice operation
I'm a FORMER customer who will not go back to NTB RT. 309 Montgomeryville Pa. I gave them every chance to get things right but they are a customer (non) service operation. Lenny the manager is a good guy and no doubt has trouble getting good employees. Leslie the "service" manager lacks customer diplomacy and cost them a good customer. A couple of the techs are good but they won't have a chance to work on my car again. Pete the technician is the sharpest blade in the pack. Make him a manager and I'll consider going back.

I forgot to mention, the 'tires need air' warning light is still on, even after I went back a third time so that they could turn off the light. I wasted TOO MUCH time there, and purchasedt a tire that I am not convinced that I needed that day.
I am also a FORMER customer of the NTB in Montgomeryville, PA. Next time I will go to the Toyota dealer where I don't need to remind them how my car has additional features. I never had to read my owner's manual until I went to NTB. My car has a light that will come on that says it needs maintenance at 4, 000 miles. When an oil change is being done, the technician needs to adjust that button so it doesn't come on at 4, 000 miles. I just found out that I have another button that says my tires need air, it comes on automatically when the tires are rotated. Two days ago, after my oil change and tires being rotated, I drove out and the 'tires need air' warning light came on. So I went back and they sold me a tire saying that I had a nail in the tire on the edge of the tread where by law they are not allowed to fix the tire. I should have asked to see the tire. It seemed very strange that the tire wasn't a problem BEFORE I got there. After the new tire was put on, I drove away, and the 'tires need air' warning light was still on, however being now 9pm the store was now closed for the evening. So that's when I read my manual and saw that the warning light needed to be turned off. So did I really need a new tire? I don't know. The next morning I called and asked for my tire, and that I'd be in after work at 5:30 to get my tire, so I could see for myself how the nail looked. When I arrived at 5:30 I was told the truck came an hour ago and picked up about 200 tires. They had looked through the 200 tires, looking for my old tire, but never found it. The guy on the second night said that the manager on duty the night before was a diesel mechanic in the past, and doesn't know that much about normal cars. PLEASE don't take your car to this place unless you know how to do the job yourself and can watch over them to be sure they've done their job correctly. Hmmmm... I have learned my lesson. From now on I take my car to the Toyota dealer where intelligent and talented employees 'know' car and take good care of me in a professional manner.
this experience made me a permanent non-customer of ntb for the rest of my life
NTB in Mill Run, Hilliard Ohio. Went in for tire balance and rotation. My daughter asked to check a wheel noise. NTB claims I needed four new McPherson Struts plus tires. NTB says the tires are "in danger of shredding" due to bad struts. I approved the $1200 job including four struts by phone (7am) and then became suspicious as I thought my Chevy Malibu had shocks, not struts.
I arrived at NTB just in time to see my car on the lift. I pointed at the rear shocks and asked why he was charging me for struts that cost hundreds of dollars more. He said the computer made a mistake and offered to give me a "buy three, get one free." I told him the deal was off but he already had the tires off the rims, so I ended up paying $125 per tire with the exact same tire at Tirerack selling for $61 each. This experience on the morning of August 10, 2009 has made me a permanent non-customer of NTB for the rest of my life.

super saver card
I went to get an oil change on my car and they told me that I needed to make an appt. I asked if they had an appt for that day and they said no but you can leave your car here for an 1 1/2 - 2 hours which is the waiting time. I said for an oil change only? He said yes; I than said I can go somewhere else and have service done faster. He said do what you got to do. Well my son took my car to NTB to use the "Super Saver Card" which is good for any vehicle thats states on the card. Josh who works at this location said we couldn't get it done because its only for the use of one vehicle not multi vehicles. Although the card states that it can. The customer in front of my son had the same problem and Josh said that there is a law suit going on due to this cards were a rip off. By the way NTB on tracks the vehicles by phone numbers ONLY and the phone numbers that we have had in the last 3 years only changed once and Josh told my son that we have "NO RECORD" of us taking our vehicles there. After getting back in line he spoke with Josh again and mentioned that he called us and said that the card was used before on both vehicles! Well Josh got the license plate number to my vehicle and the number that they show doesn't match our numbers at all! Obviously the company doesn't know what they are doing. As a consumer we paid for this "SUPER SAVER" card and all of the sudden we can't use it for both vehicles. I'm not sure who is is having this issue but I think people need to know whats going on and I advise NOT to purchase this card for NO reason at all. I will be taking my car back to the dealership for oil changes! Better customer service and people knowing what they are doing!

paid for an alignment, but only part of it was done
Paid for an alignment, but only part of it was done. They tried to cover up, saying the rest was impossible, finally admitted they didn't know how to do an alignment on my car. Promised a refund, jerked me around for 2-3 weeks, getting progressively more rude, then effectively told me to take a hike. A different NTB branch told me my rear wheel bearings were completely shot, because the wheel moved up and down. Contacted the manufacturer, was told it IS SUPPOSED to be like that.

damaged my wheels while changing tires
When I had my truck front tires changed in NTB, Pearland TX, they damaged the wheels on both sides. Be careful with them! I'll never go back to them.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I will never use NTB or any of its sister companies like Tire Kingdom...etc (the same people).
I took my car to get new tires and they damageg my wheels - all four. It took them about 4 hours to change the tires even though i had an appointment. Fortunately I noticed the damage on one of the wheels, and as I walked around the car to inspect the other wheels I noticed all of the wheels were damaged in the same manner. The technician who worked on my car was so incompetent and probably too embarrassed to ask for help. So he struggled with the wheels alone and damaged them because he couldn't figure out how to remove the wheel caps on my wire wheels. First they attempted to cover it up, then they denied it was their fault. They finally accepted it was their fault but the manager said he doesn't have the power to do anything. He referred me to his manager who has been constantly giving me the run-arounds. He never returns calls. Each time I call he puts on hold indefinitely and when he finally gets on the phone all he has to say is that he has his guys working on it. How can they be working on it when they don't have the car? It's easy to see he's been lying. It's the same story each and every time. It's been three months since they damaged my wheels and they haven't done anything to correct it.
Don't do business this company. They'll sell you things you don't need and when they damage your car, you're on your own.
this company is money hungry sleazebags who truly don't care about the customers safety
I had my car serviced at the plymouth ma location and the manager was very rude. they misdiagnosed my car, charging me astronomical fees and my car was still not working right. one of the parts they said they replaced was a wheel bearing, after complaining and going back to have my car looked at again the manager was very rude and refused to come out to take a look/drive my car to hear the noise. I took my car to another mechanic to have them listen to the sound and they told me that it was the wheel bearing (the same one that NTB supposedly replaced) so i brought my car back to them AGAIN and the manager was still very rude and finally put my car back on the lift and said that it wasnt my wheel bearing, that it was my transmission. I was so angry at this point because i paid money for parts and work done on my car and it came out in worse condition then it already went out in. So after they told me that the problem was my transmission, i went out to look for a new car because a transmission is outrageous! then i decided to go back to the other mechanic and he put my car up on the lift and replaced my wheel bearing (the same one that NTB "replaced") angrily, i paid for the new wheel bearing and contacted NTB in the morning after leaving a message for the manager, he never called me which resulted me in having to write a letter to the company. Finally I got in touch with the supervisor and he didnt really care to hear the story, basically just looking to get me off the phone and not tell anyone about their mistake of letting me take a dangerous car off the lot and basically (fraud) ripping me off. so he said that they would pay for the wheel bearing that got replaced, after sending him the bill they only paid for half of it which lead me to having to contact the manager again who then decided that he was "sorry" (lame apology) and declared that he would send out a check for the difference. NOT once did i get an apology from the manager or an offer for the inconveniences that they caused in my life (I missed work and school because my car was broken and i had to bring it back TONS of times) This company is money hungry sleazebags who truly don't care about the customers safety as well as satisfaction! absolutely HORRIBLE customer service!

hundred dollar holiday rebate
On Dec, 2-2009 I purchase a set of four tires, and NTB installed the tires, I was told that I would receive a Visa Pre-paid card for $100.00 dollards by mail.
About six weeks later I received a post card stateing that I did not qualify for the promotion. I called the NTB where I purchased the tires and they said that I did qualify for the promotion and that they would get back in touch with me, but they keep giving me the run around. I have contacted the company four times already. I also
talk to Eric Passaro today, [protected], and he said that he would call me back, but he didn't. This promotion was good until 12-31-2009, and I mailed it on [protected]. NTB shouldn't make an offer that they can't keep, Thanks Dianne Dew

i suggest you bring a male in with you next time. i am sure you have heard that these companies tend to take advantage of females. anytime you go to an auto shop i suggest you bring a male in with you. and this is based on other complaints i have read about the various auto shops. it is a shame.
rebate fraud
On Dec 29th 2009 I purchased 4 tires from this company with the promise of a $100 cash rebate. Little did I know that I had two weeks to process the rebate form or I would lose my $100. At no time did the sales person at the store tell me that the rebate offer expired on Jan 15. My rebate was processedw within 30 days - a reasonalbe time frame. This is bad...
Read full review of National Tire & Battery [NTB] and 8 commentsruined my tire to get me to buy new ones
My husband, mother and I went to the NTB in Raymore, MO to have our driver side rear tire looked at. It had a very slow leak for going on 2 months and we finally got around to getting it fixed. My husband and I went inside while my mother stayed in the car. We told the guy at the counter that we needed the driver's rear tire looked at due to slow loss of air. He wrote down the info and I saw what he wrote, DR, for drivers side rear tire on the work order.
We gave the guy the keys so he could get the info he needed from the car. He came back in and was trying to sell us new tires because the tread was starting to get low. We politely told the guy no, there was still enough tread left and we weren't buying new tires that day. My mother came in after the guy had looked at the car and tire and we waited in the waiting room.
20 minutes later the guy wheeled our tire in and said we had something stuck in the sidewall and the tire wasn't fixable. It was a staple of some sorts and you could here the tire hissing from air loss. My husband told him to put the tire back on and that we would just go buy a used tire up the road because we didn't want one brand new tire and 3 almost wore out tires and we weren't ready to buy a whole new set that day. So the guy leaves and is rolling the tire thru the shop (we can see him thru the massive window in the waiting room)and that is when I realized that the tire he had taken off was the passenger rear and not the driver rear like he was instructed. They put the tire back on and the guy came in again and tried to sell us 4 new tires again. We told the guy we weren't buying new tires 1. we couldn't afford them this week 2. the other tires still had some life left in them. So then the guy was trying to get us to apply for a credit card thru them. My husband sa id no for the tenth time and then questioned him on taking off the wrong tire. The guy claims he must have heard my husband wrong but I saw him right down "DR" on the work order and my mother who was sitting in the car when he came out to the parking lot to get the plate number and mileage said he looked at the drivers rear tire and not the passenger rear tire. He then offered to go look at the correct tire and my husband told him don't bother we would take it somewhere else.
I am absolutely convinced that they stuck this staple in my tire to sell us new tires. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this tire before I took my vehicle there. My husband checks the tire pressure weekly and this tire has never been low before and it was not low when we left our house or when we had pulled into their parking lot. I find it very suspect that I have a staple in the opposite tire that had the issues to begin with and the whole time this guy was trying to sell us new tires. Not only that, but the way the staple was stuck in there was very odd. The staple was flattened out and stuck right in the sidewall like a needle and it was nice and sparkly clean yet it was rainey and snowing and the roads are gross and grimy.
I was furious to begin with and the guy was like "whatever" when we questioned him on it and said "do you want new tires or not". We prompltly left before I choked the guy. After we left we went to the business the next parking lot down and was inside for all of 10 minutes and when we came out the tire that had nothing wrong with it to begin with was half flat.
Now I have to replace a tire that was perfectly fine before hand @ $180 for 1 tire. I am outraged and will NEVER go there or any other NTB again. I called their hotline number and put a complaint in and am waiting for a response.

Me and my husband went in to the Harker Heights NTB to get our 4 tires replaced. We upgraded to the $104 tires. The counter lady told us it'd be abut $600. Nope! It was at least $150 more. Not only did they take 2-3 HOURS to replace our tires alone, the guy only took about 35 minutes to get our tires on (ONE good thing about this location is you can WATCH them do their work). When they finally finished we were ringed up. We asked for the military discount and he responded with "Ok yes we do have military discount" and he was then suppose to tack it on. The then said "Ok, $417 is your total." our total was $742! And NO MILITARY DISCOUNT! NTB is the perfect definition of why auto shops SUCK. Never go to NTB in Harker Heights TX!
This is Antonio Reddick, just letting NTB know that I was took for my money. First they told me that my control arms where out on my Buick lacrosse 05'. Then Mike told me he can do it for $600, told him that's alot come back when I get the money up. Came back in two weeks he went up $650 because of labor, but labor is the same if I got it done the first time. Still I trusted him and payed; sat from 7:30am to 3:30PM on sept. 1 2017 got into my car and it stil drove the same. I am a disable citizen that lost one of my legs saving a life. I am broke and still have a broken down car. I should have went to firestone, but put alot of trust into your company. Even after that they told me that was it and moved on to the next customer without taken care of my concerned first. The mechanic that was fixing on it went under my hood mess with something now it makes water sounds when I drive. I never in my life have been so mad, even when I lost my leg. I put everything I had into keeping my car running good. Now with it messing up worser than when I brought it in. I feel that I was raped and didn't get due process for the disability act of America.
So dissappointed in this company. Won't use them again. Will be emailing corporation right after venting here. Bought 4 tires, brake pads(which were expensive due to labor. They always advertise free pads for life but of course labor is extra, so essentially, nothing is ever free.) and shocks. Had estimate from another competitor and was promised they would beat price. Final cost was $150 over competitor. When questioned on promise, I am beaten down. My fault but mentally draining. Shouldn't be if good company. Also, I was there a LONG and DRAWN OUT FOUR HOURS! I found out later that a part was delivered and it was the wrong part. If they kept a customer informed along the way, the wait would be expected. I would ask occasionally how much longer and they would tell me 30 min. which would turn out to be 1.5 hours. Then, a month later, had flat tire. Knew I could take it in and get repaired/replaced no problem cause had road hazard. That convenience surely changed over the years. If the puncture is along the outside edge instead of the middle the tire needs replaced. You get the tire for free but they charge $40 some dollars to mount and balance. THAT MUCH FOR ONE TIRE. Who the hell charges that much for ONE TIRE! Such ###. Never again...
Absolutely the worst service ever, in my 22 yrs od car repair experience.
Went for oil change, & steering wheel check up.
Instead wasted whole day, and still had no oil change, as the manager first scared me about brakes. Then told me $459 for 2 brakes/pad & rotar on rear wheel of my 2017 car. Since they were okay, I wanted to wait on that but he won't let me off that. Instead he started a long winded haggling process, by which he kept reducing the price, to as low as $353.
But when I still insisted that my brakes seem to be okay and just need the oil change, he seemed obviously upset and told me it'd take a while, even though there was only 2 cars in the store and 5 mechanics, but I left with my friend.
Then I was called and told that the nut for the oil change won't come off as its stripped and I'd have to get a new on for $19.99, to which I agreed after expressing surprise. An hour later I called to check and was told that they've it in stock and the car would be rady in an hour. At that point, I asked whether they can hold onto the tripped part, so I could show it to my previous mechanic, since they'were claiming its his fault. And I was told, they would.
2 more hours later, finally when I called was told the oil change is done and car is ready, so I went with my friend.
BUT SURPRISE, AFTER ANOTHER 20 MINS OF BEING TOLD TO WAIT FOR THE CAR TO BE BROUGHT OUT, that oil change is ACTUALLY not done and the guy is gone.
He apparently texted another mechanic, whose name they could not tell, neither could they tell me the Sherwyn's last name. They said they actually could not do the oil change and just handed me the key back.
MOST HORRIBLE STORE, MOST HORRIBLE MGR SHERWYN.Only go there if you like Russian Roulette.
Beware! Crooks and thieves
Went in for an oil change and even took in them the synthetic oil and filter to use. Noticed the oil light was still on so I figured they forgot to reset it so I did that. Boy was I wrong! Less than 2017 miles later the turbo bearing went out and the dealer stated the oil had not been changed. 5, 000 after the "oil change that never was" the motor was replaced due to "catastrophic internal bearing failure" of course ntb states there isn't any proof and denied any responsibility.

You brought your OWN oil and filter, had them put it in, and now because you have problems it's their fault? This is why I don't offer this service. Everyone says mechanics are crooks. Some are, but more often than not it's the customers that are crooks.
blew my engine!!!
I took my car to NTB, at the end of July (2009) to get an estimate for a serpentine belt replacement. I was then quoted an inflated price for the belt, tensioner, and idler pulley. The reason I know that the price was inflated is because after I declined their service and asked for a written estimate so I could do some comparative shopping... I received a call from NTB stating that they would take $100.00 off their original estimate. This already did not set well with me knowing that if I had originally said yes to have the work done - they would have gotten the extra $100.00!
That night after I got off work, I went to pick up the car key and informed the staff that I would have to come back later when I had someone who could drive me up to the shop so I could get the car. I was told to be careful when backing out that I did not hit a lamp post that the mechanic had parked my car close to.
In the mean time, I had contacted another mechanic and was going to take it to his shop for another estimate. I decided that when I went to pick it up, that the person who drove me could follow me out to the other garage and then give me a ride back home.
I am glad I did so! Just short of getting to the other garage, there was a "ping" noise and a huge white cloud of smoke that came from under the car. Barely able to coast into the drive of the other shop - I knew what had happend. The sinking feeling in my stomach was undeniable. The engine had blown. After letting the car cool a bit, we opened the hood to find that NTB mechanics had taken off the serpentine belt and not put it back on. The other mechanic confimed this when he looked at the car the next morning.
I called NTB, they admitted they were at fault and apologized. I was told to round up some estimates for a new engine and that they would make the situation right. I also sent an email to their corporate office and the local shop to let them know that I would have to have the car towed and a rental in it's place. The shop aggreed that NTB would pay for both.
About 40 days after turning in receipts and estimates to NTB, I was told that they would like to put a used engine with less miles in my car. I was uneasy about letting them do the work, but they advised that it would be done at another one of their shops and have a 12, 000 or 1 year warrenty. At 45 days after the engine had blown - the car finally went in for the replacement.
When we picked the car up we were told that the rental and tow reimbursement would have to come from their corporate office which could take an additional 21 days. I had paid approximately $2, 000.00 out of pocket for the rental and tow. Within a few days we began to hear squealing/squeeking coming from underneath the hood of the car. We once again, had to take the car back in for service. This time they replaced the pulley with a new one and set us on our way. Being that it was now September and I needed to get tags for the car - I had to get an e-check for it. At the e-check center, the car began to smoke from underneath the hood. The car failed the e-check.
So, I call NTB again! I tell them what had happened and all of a sudden their "helpful" tone changed. I was told that the car was fine when it left their shop. I reminded the person on the phone about the warrenty and advised that I would be dropping the car off for an evaluation of the situation. A week later, I still had not heard anything from NTB. They had my car, doing who knows what to it (if anything)for a week but could not be bothered to give me a call. I call to see what the status is on my car and they tell me that they had called and talked to someone else. They had not. They only had my phone number on file and only I answer my phone. I was told that the car was fine. Didn't need any repairs and had been sitting in there back lot for the past couple of days. At this point, I had enough. I still have not received my reimbursement check to this day. I am seeking legal action as suggested by my insurance agent. I am also concidering calling all three of our local TV news investigators to see if they would be interested in airing this story. I will also be reporting this to the BBB. I have since found out that the Manager of the shop that did not place the belt back on and the Manager of the shop that put the new engine in are brothers. I am sure that they both were trying to watch out for eachother. We have since brought this to the Regional Manager's attention who claimed to not know about the reimbursement check or return trips to the shop for repairs. He has stopped returning our calls and I have gotten no response froom the corporate office.
Please, please, please think twice before taking your car to NTB for repairs or any work done. They are unprofessional and not a company I will ever do business with again.

I agree, DO NOT use NTB, they will break your car and then charge you for their error
oil leak
I went in to get a regular oil change in the summer of 2008. I had thought, at the time, that there was a possible oil leak, and asked if they could just take a look for me. BIG MISTAKE! Next thing I know, the mechanic came back and told the front clerk about "the list" of parts that needed to be fixed. Now I knew there were some minor issues because it was a very old, well driven Honda Accord, but they weren't sufficient enough to hurt the car permanently. When he read the total it was estimated a little over $3, 000, which was more then the car was even worth! But after some scam artist convincing, I ended up going ahead for one part that "needed" to be replaced. After I had left the car there for a day or two, they said it was done. I went, picked up the car, and started driving home. About a week later, I noticed that as I stopped the car (stop sign, stoplight, parking, etc.), the hood would start to smoke. I called up to NTB and explained this to them, and they said it was just oil that was spilt when replacing the O-ring. So I shook it off, and continued driving. About four weeks later the condition had gotten worse. Now when I stopped it was swarms of smoke coming from the hood. I was mortified because people kept yelling at me from other cars saying, "Your cars on fire!". I had taken my car back numerous amounts of times, trying to get it fixed. This resulted in me paying for "other damages", and yet the car was still smoking. It was now almost the summer of 2009. I didn't know what else I could do so, I ended up selling it. I didn't try to scam anyone, I told every prospective buyer about the problem I was having with it. I ended up selling it for $300. AHH! It cost me more for the initial o-ring replacement. The new owner gave me a call about two weeks later, and said that the o-ring was put on crooked! I had spent over $600 dollars in "repairs" and sold my car for only $300! And there wasn't anything really even wrong with it! They screwed up, and made me pay for it! When I went to talk to them about it they said, they couldn't do anything about it! Screw NTB!

I work for NTB and I would never have my car repaired there. If it's any consolation they treat thier employee's as bad as the customers. I've had five pay cuts in five years as company profits soar. I've been a Mechanic for 35 years and I've never seen greed like this company puts on. They charge every customer a "shop fee" this is equal to the Las Vegas Mob "skim of the top" of the 50's. Then they threaten us for buying the supplies this "shop fee" was intended to buy. They net millions yearly off this one scam. FREE MONEY
As we speak they are working on the next pay cut for Mechanics. Not for me, I've had enough.
I stopped visiting the NTB in Cedar Park for a host of reasons with the primary one being: they are a band of wannabe mechanics and managers. Good luck as it's difficult to find anyone reliable and honest that can service your vehicle. Most important though is to stay away from the Jiffy Lubes, NTB, Sears, etc., when looking to have any repairs done.

i meant 'who' was the mech. ?
how was the mechanic ? is he still there ? don't want him working on my car. i patronize that store.
overcharged
Two weeks ago, I went into NTB because I was having problems getting the car to turn over. They said that it was simply a dead battery, in which they replaced with a new one. Total cost was $120.00.
This past weekend, Sept 30, my car started having the same problem. I than took it back in to NTB, and this time they said it was the starter and the total would be $409.00...for a starter. This was also waiting for 4 hours.
I than took it into 2 other licensed mechanics for a second opinion. They both said the starter was fine, it was the battery connection that was coroded and should of been replaced with the battery. They were shocked that someone could of replaced the battery without doing this.
How many more people have this done this to, I wonder. Because auto mechanics is a trade, how is the common folk supposed to know when they are getting screwed. It is complete MALPRACTICE.

I went for an oil change, gave my keys at 11:04am and was returned the car at 12:58pm. While I was sitting there and watching thru the glass, the sales guys gave preference to another customer who brought in Washington Flyer Taxi. The guy who was working on my car was pull out to take care of the cab. I even brought it to attention to one of the other sales person, but he did nothing nor had the courtesy to revert back. Later I saw him chatting and shaking hand with the owner of the Washington Flyer & it turns out he was the one who pulled out the guy to work on the other car.
Don't to go to NTB and use Jiffy Lube or your car dealer for an oil change.
Got a messy oil change. No seat cover or floor cover was used. The oil change guy, covered in oil from head to foot, pulled the car in and out of service area himself. He also sat in car with A. C. and car running while he filled out paperwork. The seats, carpet, and door had many oil stains. The manager ignored my complaint. Dont take a new or clean car to NTB for service.
NTB quoted my elderly mother in law whos on a fixed income $2400 to repair her car for a check engine light on. The cost to her for the diagnostics was $129! She took the car to another repair shop. They fixed her ignition problem, gave her car a tune up and an oil change for around $350 dollars. This NTB is located in the Schamburg area on Golf road. Big time rip offs! This happened on May 23 2017.
broken wheel lock
In May of 2008, I bought in a 2004 Mustang to have two front tires replaced. One hour later they tell me that a wheel lock was broken while removing a wheel. Long story short, they charged me $90. plus the price of the lock they broke. I know I can't prove they broke it but, I find it hard to believe that a wheel lock on a four year old car would just...

Terrible customer service!
I would never go back or recommend this to anyone.
I went for an inspection and they told me that I needed brakes and roders that would cost over $600 for an 04 olds alero. Then we went to look at the roders and the technician, leslie, said he would forget about getting new roders if we got our brakes here. This would cost us around $400. We said no, we would buy our own parts and then bring it back within ten days to get the car inspected without an additional cost.
The day after I took my car there I got into an accident. We called ntb and explained what happened. They said as soon as the car is out of the shop, do the work, bring the car back with the receipt of payment for the inspection and they would inspect it without having to pay twice. We got the car back and did the brakes and roder in one day. We called and leslie said they would honor it to bring it in. Brought the car in today and leslie informed us that they were audited last night and could not do the inspection.
I called to get ahold of who was in charge. Leslie said there were two of them in and they were both in charge. I asked for the manager and he said it is lenny who was supposed to be in at 10 am but was not there yet. (It was 10:30 am) so leslie lied to us and said he was in charge.
It has been an awful experience.
Ntb could help me by honoring their agreement and inspecting my car.

bad brake service
I have taken my car, Honda Accord, into NTB for brake service six different times over the past last year and 6 months. Each time I was told I needed different parts to repair the brakes which continued making a horrible sound. I have replaced pads, rotors, adjustments, Honda brand Pads, more adjustments, and now Calipers, rotors, and pads again. Also, I...

I use to work for this company it suck. They don't care about their workers all they care about is making money. If they can sell you something that you don't need they would. On top of that they jack up the prices. If a part cost them $20 they will mark it up to $100. They make managers work 60- 70 hours a week. They don't care if you have a family. The...

The store manager(John) ripped me off on an airconditioning service. Initially the mechanics told me that the parts were about 20$ and when the manager called me he told me to be prepared to pay close to 300$ because the labor was shot out of the roof. The guy was unrelentless and ruthless. We had done business there before and the people that I previously dealt with were honest and great!

Here is a copy of the body of my complaint letter to them:
Dear Sir or Madam:
First off, I want to tell you how sorry I am that I have to write this email. I know that more often than not, customers only let you know about bad customer service, not the good. I am very sorry, but I am so angry that I feel I have to bring a customer service issue to your attention.
My husband is currently having his tire repaired at your Seabrook, NH location. To make a long story short, your Seabrook, NH location is so short staffed today that he is expected to either wait "a couple of hours" or put a tire on himself. I spoke to Ed Schwin, on the phone, who says he is the manager and he had the worst customer service in the world. He told me that he has been in since 6:30 AM and that he guesses if my husband wants his tire put on that he will make himself and others stay late to do it, and make other customers wait. He said that he has one guy on today because someone called in sick and that if I drive by, I can see that he is short staffed and has a hiring sign out front. I explained to him that my husband is not mechanically inclined and that he drives our toddler to daycare, so the tire needs to be put on the car properly. He asked me what I wanted him to do about it. I asked for the home office phone number. He refused to give it to me. This is not acceptable customer service. I told him that I was going to call your Newington, NH store and I rudely (sorry) hung up. Tim (?) over in Newington said he could have my husband in and out in under an hour. I told him that time is not of the essence, but that safety is. I called my husband back and he told me that Seabrook was currently putting the tire on. I felt bad and told him not to use the coupon he has and to pay full price for the tire plug.
My husband was disparaged in front of other customers. Another customer was told, with my husband standing there, that he had to wait while they put the tire on my husband's car. It appears that the woman he said that to was only dropping her car off, as she handed the keys over to Ed. He did that to be difficult and try to embarrass my husband. Ed Schwin refused to take money from my husband. He stated that he didn't need the money that bad. He also stated that he is 53 years old and that he has worked over 100 hours in the past ten days. He also stated that if anything, he is owed an apology.
Why, am I, the customer, supposed to feel badly that a store is understaffed and expects its customers to do part of the job that they have been hired to do? Why do I have to hear about the understaffing and hiring issues of the store? Why do I have to be so grateful for the store taking the time out of its busy day to do work for us, that I beg my husband not to use a coupon? This is ridiculous.
We take two of our vehicles to both your Seabrook, NH and Newington, NH stores. My Chevrolet has odd-sized SUV tires and you guys are the only ones around to ever have them in stock, and you have them at the cheapest price. You beat out BJ's on the price! You have the least expensive oil changes around. Because of this, we will continue to do business, but I sincerely hope that customer service in Seabrook, NH is improved.
5/6/10 - trying to purchase a home. opened line of credit w/ NTB last year and paid it in full by the closing date as requested. credit and collections left $2 balance on my account after they gave me option to deduct if paid by certain date. left it on my credit and it grew. when credit pulled to finalize on house purchase, score was reduced drastically and i disputed issue. incompetent credit and collections. i happen to find the document that saved me b/c NTB was really trying to stick it to me for $2. WOW! no apology, just a lot of attitude. ### 'em. i'll never buy another thing from them again and neither should you. for us to be in a recession, businesses are sure hung up on themselves.
