I'm Nkungwana Simpiwe [protected] cell no:[protected] unfortunately company never gave me account number even though deducting from my bank, up to now I never got communication from your side no Contract of how the product works. Please would you furnish me with the information. cancellation of tracker - ineffective service
I have requested Netstar multiple times (From July 2018) to cancel my Netstar account since I have emigrated to Australia and have no further use for it.
I also want my money back from date I have requested cancellation (July 18) but have not had any response from Netstar on any e-mails I have sent on cancellation/refund of funds.
I am unable to call them since I am not in South Africa and email are simply not effective.
This is unacceptable and unprofessional.
I can provide email threads if necessary, please can some one contact me as I would like to close my bank account in South Africa and the only thing that is still in there is the Netstar instalment that goes off each month which means I have to pay bank charges as well.

I have tried unsuccessfully to obtain a refund on a newly-fitted, non-functional unit installed in my vehicle.
I am dissatisfied with Altech Netstar and the unprofessional manor in which this claim is being treated.
I was, and correctly, so under the impression that the unit was functional as it was brand new (installed 12/10/2017) but only to discover on 07/09/2018, via your website that the unit was not working.
"This unit is not working since 12/10/2017, yet you have not picked this up. This is most disconcerting, to say the least."
Even Altech Netstar did NOT pick up this fault, which defeats the purpose of this unit and the service you provide.
Finance has not responded since 10/09/2018.
I require a 11 month refund as per dates of installation (12/10/2017) and rectification of unit (11/09/2018).
Please attend to my claim as a matter of urgency as this is now unacceptable.

I'm very angry and frustrated as I type this email
I don't know why altech netstar is still debiting my account when I asked that my account not be debited beginning of this year already.
The device installed in my car hasn't been working for the past 2 and a half years.. Yet I continued paying till my contract ended.
My contract ended and someone phoned me for an upgrade, I explained to the person that I doubt I would want to renew my contract with altech as the device I had wasn't working and I was practically paying for noting. I explained that since my contract ended, they shouldn't debit which was ignored and my account kept being debited.
I eventually thought to myself that I will stop the debit since altech won't listen to me.
I have done so and I keep getting calls from annoying collectors that can't even talk to people.
I don't see why my contract was renewed without my consent when the device is not even working. I have been paying altech all along for absolutely nothing. Now they renewing the contract after 3 years on a ‘dead' device?
Please ensure that my premiums are refunded for debits after the 3 year mark as the device hasn't been working for so long.
I do not appreciate being called by rude collectors that ask irrelevant questions and cannot listen to what the client has to say.

This has become an impossible job to do.
I have tried several times in the last week to contact netstar telephonically but with no success - as the phone options lead you to several places and there is just never somebody that answers the phone.
On your voice-answering machine a website address is given to cancel a contract - which again leads you to no site where you can cancel a contract.

I was in an accident on 24 August 2017. The vehicle was written off. I have not received any communication from Netstar informing me that the signal is lost or just alerting me to the fact that something may be wrong in the past 11 months, as the money was still deducted monthly. Whenever the vehicle's battery was removed in the past during services or even when I overhauled the engine - I received no alerts. I know I am to blame for not legally ending the contract earlier, but I would think twice before getting them to be my agent for watching over a vehicle of mine as I seriously doubt that my vehicle was on their radar. My other vehicle is covered by another service provider that contacts me immediately whenever the battery is removed and the signal is lost.

Beware! Netstar is a fraudulent service, if you have one remove it and put a tracker or ctrack in. They claim to have all this security and power when in fact their units dont work half the time. I had a Netstar removed from a vehicle in 2014 which they still think is working.. But just incase thats an anomaly I again sold my vehicle a few months ago and despite still paying for the Netstar unit the dealership said there wasn't one installed.
But wait thats not all, when I said to them ok I will pay when the last time you saw it.. Netstar cant tell you that. I f you dont phone in every 6 months to test it they are actually not responsible. So whatever you do, if you want a car recovered or you get hijacked or even worse dont for a second thing Netstar are actually able to do anything. #WhatsThePoint
If in doubt, why not call them and see how they miraculously cant see the unit.

This started at 04:00 on Saturday 23 June until now 19:59 (2018)
All negative comments on various platforms with the answer "Your complaint has been noted and a consultant will be in contact with you" is very worrying.
It seems that the App is worthless.
Are we assured as customers that Altec Netstar can, and will fulfill their obligation as to the locating of our vehicles in case of theft or hi-jacking. If the same technology is used then it seems doubtful.

Contacted Netstar at 10:00 and were told that their network is down for maintenance. Promised it will be up and running in two (2) hours. I was promised a ref. no. for this query within 5 minutes. It is 20 minutes later and still no SMS as promised. (Netstar agent Lester)

continued debit after account cancellation
My account was ''cancelled'' on 23.02.2018 and confirmed by Vaneshri Iyappen via email.
Since then my bank account has still been debited every month!
I sent a mail following up on this 08.05.2018 and have not had a response.
If i do not receive a response to this complaint within the acceptable time frame, I will go to the ombudsman and report this matter.

My car was fitted with a tracking device as insurance requirement, and stolen in november 2014, I had to sign a document that I owed around nine thousand rand, before they would dispatch a helicopter. The vehicle was recovered, only to be stolen again, this I did not report to netstar, as I could not afford the nine thousand rand I already owed. I got divorced, and was retrenched in february 2015, I could not make payments, until I started working again in august 2015, which I duly did.
I was not able to make large payments, but consistently paid what I could, all the while being constantly harassed.in march of this year, I got a new job, and started making bigger payments, and e-mailed repeatedly requesting statements, as the last one I had received was february 2018 indicating an outstanding amount of r2 685.00. I never received a response in the form of a statement, and never received the settlement figure that I requested either. I started e-mailing every e-mail address related to netstar that I could find on the internet, including the md, until eventually legal bad debt administrator alvina mashiane responded: "in relation to your mail below, please be advised that the outstanding balance on the above account was r 4 476.89 and we have received payments from you amount to r 1 200.00, therefore the remaining balance is r 3 276.89"
I forwarded the last statement that I had received, and asked for an explanation and a statement again, to which I received this response: "herewith is the breakdown of the outstanding balance: the arrears r 2 585.00, plus settlement amount of r 1 891.89 which is the remaining of the contract in your case was 21 months when the account was handed over due to none payments, total amount r 4 476.89, the contract expiry date would have been 07 october 2016.
I explained that the unit was covered by my insurance, and again requested a statement, to which the response was:" please find the attached statement that includes the settlement/unit price in your vehicle, the statement that you have send was before the account was handed over to the bad debt department, as the customer no longer qualify to be on a 36 months contract, hence we have included the remaining months of the contract on the account.
I responded that I find this unacceptable as I was not informed, netstar have had my e-mail address all the while, and that I have paid what I could, when I could, the statement clearly reflects this, yet now nearing the end, suddenly im being billed for all kinds of [censored]
Further to this, I saw on the statement that was billed r85 per call in the past, when I expressly asked not to be called during working hours as I could not take calls.

Charlene from your call centre called me about 5 minutes ago. At first, not explaining what the matter is about, becoming abrupt when I asked questions regarding the nature of the call. I find the fact that she cut the call on me VERY rude and aggravating. I suggest that you train your call centre staff on how to deal with customers in a proper manner. This is not acceptable.

In total we signed up 12 tracking contracts with Altech Netstar, 7 of these have various problems. Ranging from one contract where the vehicle was stolen, Netstar retrieved the removed tracking device but not the vehicle. The problem lies in the fact that we are still paying for a tracking device on a vehicle stolen over a year ago.
There is no follow up if they suspect a vehicle is being stolen/hijacked if the provided contact fails to answer their calls.

I signed up for 24 months contract with netstar in march and paid R4000 and i was told they will never debit as the amount caters for 24 months installment. Last month they took R154 and i called was advised i will get it that month end. It never happened now they took R99 . What is really the story with Netstar. on the month of October 2017 i bought a car from cmh Midrand while the car was still at he dealership i received an email with a netstar tracking contact of which i called back and requested the devise to be removed off my car immediately, no one at altech contacted me before installing a devise and i had no desire to use their serviced the sales person got my details from the dealer and just concluded the contract on my behalf without even talking to me not on phone or email . a day after the installation it was confirmed that it has been removed, know i get calls, emails and sms from their attorneys that i will be blacklisted and i owe them money, i have done numerous call to Netstar and has been assured that the matter will be resolved till date nothing has been done today i receive a final notice . after being assured last month that the issue is dealt with

I have never entered into any agreement with Netstar and therefore will not be held liable for any account until such time as you can provide me with PROOF.
Further note on this unsigned contract which your Call Centre, you have the listed agreement to a MRS COETZEE - which is not my name. The banking details you have given are not in my name either. The vehicle you have registered for this is also not in my name. I was not present, agreed to or signed anything with the installation of this device and until last week I had no knowledge of any account in my name. Until you can give me with proof that I, Samantha Pask entered into any agreement, I kindly request you correct your records with the proper information. Kindly convey this information to Credit Worx so that they can stop harrassing me for something that is clearly not mine!

hey mailed me back and told me they cannot cancel it because it is a 36monts contract. I request my contract, but nothing was forwarded to me.

our car was stolen on 10 dec 2017 from gold reef city theme park secure parking . i called the altech netstar and informed them while the car was moving infront of my eyes, their call center agent was rude and saying that he has dispersed 3 choppers in the air and they are hanging around my car, and they have got the car, the car is safe, he said between 10.30 am and 10.40 am, by 11am he said call your insurance we cant find your car, we were lied to by him, we didnt even ask help from anyone thinking that our car will be found.

On the 27th of December I traded in my old car, which it hard a tracking device from your compnay(netstar), I do call to inform them.. and yes they did say they will remove the device and re install it, in the new car.. i've been waiting ever since for them to came and install it, no call or sms to let me when are they coming.. so my question is what if my car gets stolen, do I have to pay my monthly premiums for a device which is not installed in my car?
