customer service and cleanliness
I am a PF member have been for a very long time. This crew that's been there for awhile is very lazy! They barely greet the customers as, they are coming/going. They are playing around or just standing around texting on their phones. The locker room / ladies bathroom is HORRIBLE! I have pics of the ladies bathroom toliet paper all on the floor. Bags inside where us women put our personal needs in needed to be changed out! Trash in the locker room needed to be changed out. I do have pics to back up my claim. These employees are bored because, they have no structure there. They are just riding the clock can't wait for their shift to end when it's so much that they could be doing! Wiping downs machines, sweeping, making sure the machines are working properly etc.
refund request denied
In Jan 2018 I walked into my home location of planet fitness at 4166 Buford Hwy in the Plaza Fiesta Plaza in Atlanta, GA 30345. to request a cancellation. The assoc who keyed the cancel confirmed after i signed the digital pad that it was done. 9 months later (today 9/14) I am at dinner for my mothers bday and i am about to pay my $217.00 tab and my card declines. I call the bank and they said that there was a charge for $194.20 from PLANET FITNESS! I called planet fitness to discuss this with the gym manager Dayja. she quickly declined being able to refund this transaction because she didn't see in the system that i cancelled back in January. I asked to speak with someone higher up and instead of reaching out to her regional so she gave me this general email address - [protected]@pfatl.com. I asked her for the number to corporate and she then stated that they didn't have a number and that this email address was the only way. I didn't believe her so i did my own research. I google searched for it and found the number, which was 1-844-880-7180. I called and spoke with someone named Rosalina whom confirmed that the email address that ... gave me was not an email address that would reach any escalation group or mnger. She apologized and sent an email and she stated that someone will be in contact with me shortly. After an hour I called my bank to see what they could do. They couldn't submit for a chargeback unless planet fitness confirmed the refund. So, we called again to speak with Dayja. She stated that she was speaking with her regional manager Charlotte the moment. We stayed on hold while they did their investigation. When she came back on the line, she declined again. She then stated that the Charlotte will contact me. And she did, from a blocked number. She too declined again unless i could pull up an email from January that came from them that proved i cancelled at the gym. And of course i wasn't able to locate this. It was JANUARY. I had never feel so robbed. Dayja and Charlotte both had lack of concern to help me or work with me without this proof of cancel. Its not my fault that thee associate back in January didnt complete out my cancellation. Thats doesnt mean that I am wrong or lying. I was so embarrassed at my mothers dinner.
I have submitted this to the BBB. I am also looking to take legal action is this transaction is not returned.

new staff
At first, my experience at the N. Sardis Road, Charlotte, NC fitness center was good. Then they changed staff and began implementing strict new rules about scanning in as one enters. One used to be able to scan their own card if the staff was occupied or undermanned. No longer. Now one has to wait until a staff member is available to scan them in. No thank you. Found a fantastic fitness center only 1/2 mile away that issues key cards to members that allows them to scan themselves in 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year, whether there is staff present or not. Absolutely fantastic. Good bye Planet Fitness!
they are terrible to deal with — money grab
I went into the PLANET FITNESS in Irondequoit NY today to get my money refunded for the annual fee that they took from my account 2 days ago.
I stopped going to this gym because I moved it was no longer convenient. I stopped going like 6 mos ago. but was unable to get the fees to stop as I was told I had to go in when the manager was on duty to cancel.
I went in today and said- I am not asking for fees for the last 6 months- monthly fees I only want the annual fee you took without notifying me.
The 2 employees said - no you are not getting any money back for anything. Told me I could wait around for the manager - same story. All 3 were rude and could care less about good customer service and doing the right thing.
I plan to fight tooth and nail with this company to get my 39$ back. It is the principal of the thing. They are not going to take advantage of me - I will dispute it with my bank.

I canceled my account on August 17. I fought with them for my money back they told me I could cancel but not got refunded for the month so I did. Well they just took 80$ out of my account today I called and the rude disrespectful district manager of the store kept telling me no one ever told me I could cancel over the phone. Instead of helping me she kept telling me that what happened in August never happened. Now my car insurance lapses because of this crooked branch. gym contract
Afternoon..my ne is Thabang Moatshe..I had a gym contract with planet fitness gym in Menlyn..as things stands I don't want to pay it reason being that one of their consultant falsely advertised the product, as a result it was not catering my need of wanting to gym, and when I called the head office wanting to cancel, they just told me I must pay the whole contract amount which to me is a bit unfair..The dispute I hav is that their consultant told me that with the amount I'm paying I'll be able to start in the gym from 8:00am till 15:00pm which is not stated on the contract is only a mouth say, which was a reason for me to agree because it catered for my work hours, only to find out the day I went to the gym to enter at 8:00am was told I must start at 11:30 which by then I must be at work..if I was told at the beginning I wouldn't sign up for it because it collides with my work schedule..Can I please get help regarding this matter..
gym contract for 1 year
I took a gym contract for 1 year that was communicated to me that's its a 1 year contract. took the gym membership somewhere around March 2015 so this contract was suppose to end in march or April 2016, to day I get a massage from the attorneys of Planet fitness saying I owe R3 238.84, to surprise planet fitness was still billing me even after 2016, they say it was an auto renewal contract, I am disputing that because I was not informed of that clause and I find that very misleading .
the tv's in my planet fitness.
The Tv channels were changed Monday 8/27/18. We have mostly retired people here during the morning. So many people walk by the last tv to look at the stock prices. The channel was CNBC. Now there is nothing on the tv's to give you the news or anything unless you want to watch CNN. The people up front said all were changed by corporate. Does that mean you don't want people to see how good the economy is doing and only get negative shows only?
air conditioning and customer service
Hi my name is Alexandria I go to the planet fitness in Lynwood I've been to allot of planet fitness with friends and family and this planet fitness is the worse I've been to. They have the air conditioning on so high to the point employees have to wear sweaters, I came into the lockroom to change as I was changing I was noticing the steam coming from my shoulders I was so surprised I had to record it. I have gotten sick so many times because of this problem. People have asked the employees to turn down the air conditioning and they just ignore the people. I've came in on a Saturday and asked one of the employees to turn it down and he said I'll see what I can do but I don't think I can I told the employee no u can turn it down because another employee did it last time and he just walked away from me. Ive been in customer service over 10yrs and that's not how ur supposed to talk to a client or customer he was really rude and didn't help me at all. Please look into this because this is crazy it's way to cold in here. Thank you so much

Hello, my name is Lexi George i am a 17 year old girl in London, Ontario. I was at the gym tonight at around 11pm, as i was doing my circuits i noticed a man staring at me and pacing back and forth so i proceeded on and ignored him after 20 minutes had gone by he was still watching me and it was very clear he was not working out so i got up to leave and he followed me. i was so scared and i went to the front desk and told them and they laughed and was smiled and said ya ill talk to him in the tone as if he didn't really care and did nothing and i am very upset how they handled it. He did not talk to the man he just was talking and laughing with the other co workers this situation could have been worse. Human trafficing in London is getting bigger, a lot of women have gone missing over the years and me being only 17 and alone i was very scared i thought going to the front desk it would help and maybe they'd even offer to walk me to my car but no there to busy talking to each other to give to [censored]s about the customers. i am very upset and disappointed with how it was dealt with and something needs to be done i should feel safe going to the gym and i should be able to go alone.
broken shower facility and removal of scale
I have been a black card member for 2 years. For the passed 5-6 months the handicap shower nozzle has been broken and has yet to be fixed. Also the scale was removed from the locker room. It was explained that it fosters negative body images. I am a grown "paying" member and would like the option to weigh myself at my fitness facility. Maybe you could survey your members and find out who would appreciate scales. I hope this receives prompt attention.
service and taking longer to resolve issues
First of all, I have been treated unfairly by Planet Fitness in Rosebank Mall for taking longer to resolve my complaints. I joined this gym in February 2018 and I was lead to believe that I signed a corporate contract were my monthly premium is supposed to be R399 a month because I work for a corporate company. In the contract I was sold, I was told that I won't pay in the first month and starting from the second month I was going to pay R299 for three months which happened as per the contract I signed. It further says I will then pay R399 for the remainder of my contract which is not happening at the moment and they debiting R499 which is not what I signed up for. Now, the question is "why would I choose a normal contract while the corporate one offers me a better premium?". I have taken the matter to the gym manager and promised me to resolve the matter but now this has been dragging for longer. This was certainly not my fault but the sales person called "Prince" who apparently still works for Planet fitness Wonderous Club. I have now R499 for three months and this is not what I agreed to. If they debiting R499 this month in my account I will be forced to reverse it until I am billed correctly.
Lastly, in July my account was debited twice by Planet Fitness and the second debit order bounced back because there was no enough money in my account and I never budgeted for this. I then went there asked why are they debiting twice, they told me that the second debit is for the levies which I was never told about. Today, I was denied access to the gym because I am in arrears since the second debit order didn't go through. All I am asking Planet Fitness is to fix my contract to corporate one, the one I signed up for. If they try to debit R499 in my account I will keep reversing this amount until they debit the right figure. This is not fair at all.

I'm a customer at the location at 100 N Labarre Rd Metairie, La 70001 and I frequent the location with different trainers different days of the week . Just recently I have come in as usual to be told that some things had changed and the previous Manager Mike was no longer employed at the Facility. I was told that he had been fired and this was done in front of others for something so trivial. Mike took great care of the facility as well as he made us feel at home! He cleaned, greeted, new us all by name and ensured that everyone was safe while there. I've been to other locations and they aren't good at all! esp the New Orleans East location but this was a better option for many of us and for many reasons. Now when we come in we have been greeted my other members of your team who never truly took the time out to get to know us although he saw us frequently. Not to mention his level of cleanliness or the fact that he is dating the young lady now in charge Rachel. I have discussed this manner with several of my peers and we all share the same concerns as well as there has been a petition started. If things can't be resolved in a better manner then I think we all will just take our business to the next best business. If this is the way you treat your hard working employees then we don't care to patronize the business. If someone could contact me this would be greatly appreciated!

I arrived at Planet Fitness in Forest Park at 8:30. I was told that the manager Cassandra would arrive at 9:30. At 9:30 still no show. I asked the two attendants managing he desk if she was still due to come and they said around 10. At 10:15 I was told she wouldn't be arriving for another 15 minutes. When she finally arrived at 10:30 she was rude and unhelpful. She had an attitude concerning my inquiry about joining the gym. I have never experienced such disrespect and lack of personableness when dealing with people. As a manger she doesn't deserve to hold such an esteem position. To have waited for almost two hours to be treated in that regard is disheartening and I have no plans to join this companies gym because of the way their employees treat people. I advise Planet Fitness's Human Resources department to invest in employee training.

- I had a problem with cancellation. I got injured two weeks ago and requested to cancel the membership. The times that I called the Club it wasn't mentioned to me that I need to meet in person before the 10th of the month, I was informed as long as before the 17th then I am good. On the 11th of Aug I went to the gym and cancelled my membership due to injury. The club charged me an extra month from Aug 17th to September 10th which is not a complete month. I talked to the manager and she did not provide any extra help with the membership policy payment. I request a refund for my extra month of membership that there was no need to just take my money for something isn't my fault. Would like to address the issue with higher positions than club manager, I have document that can help with investigation.
- I requested a copy from the club manager to extend my membership from the Sep 10th to Sep 16th. I was charged for a whole month from Aug 17th to Sep 10th which isn't fair either. The manager provided a document for me which means they can do customer service, but chose to make me pay me more for no specific reasons. Also she didn't sign the document which I think is very respectful for me to send me an unofficial document
Membership started on July 17th - August 17th I paid that back in July and they made me pay a fee from July 10th to July 17th.
When I cancelled my membership they made me pay an extra month from August 17th to Sep 10th which is only 3 weeks but full payment.
I have been a member of the gym few times and at different locations, I wish I can be treated a little better than this.

being told to leave the pf gym asap due to 12 yr old daughter waiting at the lounge
My name is Jeannie Adolacion. I was a member of Planet Fitness, Surrey, BC until August 10, 2018 at which time I cancelled my membership due to the treatment of myself and my daughter by your Fitness club Manager.
I enjoyed my membership at Planet Fitness, but I felt that with the mistreatment of myself by your daytime manager, I had to cancel my membership. I was not able to get his name, otherwise, I'd have mentioned it in this letter.
My 12 year old daughter and I had gone to Lucky Supermarket, a produce store adjacent to the Surrey Planet Fitness Gym at 10642 King George Blvd, Surrey, BC. To save time I have asked her to wait at the PF lounge until I was done with my 50-minute work out that started at 4:30pm (Aug 10, 2018). Better this way than driving her straight from the supermarket to home and drive out again to go back to the PF Gym. I am a working mom and lead a busy life, just squeezing time to get workouts included in my daily routine.
My daughter waited in the assigned waiting area patiently and quietly using her cell phone to keep her occupied while I did my workout. Halfway through my work out, the daytime manager told me stop without preamble and to ask me to get my daughter out of the gym immediately as according to him children below 13 yrs old are not allowed in the gym unattended. I was surprised at this and asked why I wasn't informed of this rule when my husband and I joined in April (almost 5 months ago). Apparently there is a sign at the reception about this, and I missed seeing this sign. Not to be taken as an excuse, but there's a lot of signs on the walls one has gotten used to them and haven't paid attention to all of them after sometime. I tried to reason with the manager to give me 15 minutes to nearly if not wholly complete my exercise regimen but he wouldn't hear of it. He was just focused to kick my daughter and I out of the gym.
I contemplated the scene afterwards and have not come up with a plausible reason for being kicked out when my daughter wasn't being disruptive or even loud. Children at 12 years and older are allowed by the government to be left home by themselves. They go to school and left on their own devices inside a classroom with just one teacher overlooking them, not attend to them. She wasn't using any gym equipment or be near one.
This was not an attitude I was expecting from the gym that I have chosen to go to, amongst several others in the Surrey area. I have worked hard to convince my husband to go to PF, he was not a gym fan before. Since then, we've enjoyed our time with PF, in fact, we go there daily except Saturdays. I was so amazed by the friendly staff (not the mentioned manager) and the much newer efficient and wide range of exercise equipment I've gotten familiar with that I have been a vocal supporter of Planet Fitness amongst my coworkers and neighbours. In fact, one coworker has recently signed up. Two of my neighbours are also contemplating signing up.
I know that PF is doing well in our area. Offering a lower rate than the other gyms, having good equipment and friendly staff. However, being high handed with the customers can lead to a negative image which is hard to salvage later on. Your managers have to be trained to focus on clients and not solely on the rules. He shouldn't be made a representative of an unfriendly gym that people should be wary of joining. If he was so focused on the rules, he should have dealt with things like people abusing the 30-minute work out area, where a lot of members were using the equipment there like the floor ones, staying with just one equipment for over 15 minutes and depriving others who are wanting to complete the 20 steps. I have complained verbally to the staff about this, but to no avail. I have not frequented this area for three months now, though this was the feature that got me attracted to join the gym.

Talk about inconsideration, go to the Independence, MO club. The girls in the morning are rude and basically B*****s. I've seen rudeness, but they take it to the next level and don't even try. The manager at this facility is not much better. She is not a nice individual, things never get fixed and they write individuals up or fire them from what I heard on the stupidest things. No wonder the gym is going to [censored] and it has only been open 2 years. They need to bring in some new blood, some new management and a new trainer. Don't even get me started there. Please...……………… I don't call them trainers as they never train HA!
lack of normal gym etiquette/courtesies
About 1 week ago, another gym member (20 yo female) used an incline bench in the flat position for almost 40 minutes to perform 3 exercises that DID NOT REQUIRE the bench in the incline position!?
Because all other incline benches were being utilized as inclines by multiple members, I asked her (on two separate occasions) if I could "work in a set" while she rested (by sitting on bench, looking at phone, for 5 minutes at a time). She repeatedly declined. (Even after my second request of "needing just 8 reps!?!")
I discussed the concern with gym staff and gym co-manager, who said there is not much they can do because of PF's theme (ie, "No Judgement").
I'm sorry... but when the gym is packed, and it's peak hour (5:30p to 6:30p), NO gym member (not even me ;) should covet ANY bench/station/machine/weight/area for ALMOST ONE WHOLE HOUR without allowing other members to "work in"...
That is called Basic Gym Etiquette 101, and should be taught by PF staff to ALL NEW MEMBERS (because it happens an awful lot!).

temperature was extremely hot and dangerous in the gym
I went to the gym on Monday, August 6, 2018. When I arrived the temperature in the gym was extremely horrific. I thought that because there were a lot of people exercising, it could have been everyone's body heat.
Well I exercised with my teenager and my teen suddenly became ill. We went into the ladies room where the temperature in the ladies room was cooler than what the gym was. The temperature in the gym was 77 degrees. It felt like a sauna. My daughter lasted several minutes in the ladies room.
Remember, just because your clients are sweating does not mean that they are getting a good workout. In an overheated environment, they could simply be overtaxing their cardiovascular system, which can lead to dangerous physiological conditions.
We had to stop exercising due to how hot the gym was. I would appreciate it if this matter is attended to in a proper manner. I am bringing it up to headquarters. The next step would be to report it to the Department of Health.
