Broken equipment, which cause my phone to break
As I have for nearly 4 years we have been at a facility, I was getting ready to use the eliptical. I had my left foot on the pedal, next I take my cell phone and put it in the cup holder which is just below the monitor. As I pulled myself up and over to the right pedal my cell phone had fallen through the bottomless cup holder and first struck the large...

I joined the gym in New Smyrna Beach approximately 6 months ago and I am also a black card member. I have really enjoyed it until recently. It seems the gym is going downhill quickly. The AC in the black card room where the hydro beds are that I used to enjoy has not been working now for at least a week and a half. The employees have opened both glass door...

As I write this complaint, I am currently looking for a number to call HQ directly. The complaint is about the Planet Fitness on 520 Broad Street, Newark, NJ against an employee. The morning shift, 6/19/2023, there is a dark skin gentleman working the front counter on said date. Dark thick head of hair, facial hair, slim fellow. My cousin usually goes there...
Read full review of Planet FitnessBlack card guests/family plan
I recently joined planet fitness getting the more expensive black card membership. There were many reasons I got the black card but mainly so me and my husband could both go and we could go to any club we wanted. About a week ago I went to go workout at the club on Adams Ave in Phila (rising sun). Its a beautiful clean club with friendly staff and immaculate locker rooms. My husband wanted to join me but just getting done work wasn’t able to so after researching I told him it was ok to go to another club without me because we’re BlackCard members and there is a family share option which allows him to go without me. He decided to go to the club located on Spring Garden St in phila. After checking in with the barcode I sent him he proceeds to the locker rooms. He told me the locker rooms at this club were absolutely disgusting and he was reluctant to wash up there but being he just got done work thought it was only respectful to before he used public machines. He started getting undressed and said he was approached by a rude employee who was working the front desk who started bantering him asking him his name and who he was and how he wasn’t Meghan (it was my membership) all the while my husband is standing there in his boxer shorts. The guy told him he needed to come to the front desk so mu husband responds after he gets washed up he will be out. The man demanded that he went out now. So my husband agreedbut was embarrassed because this employee did this in front a bunch of people. Now by the front desk the man explained that i needed to be with my husband in order to use the gym. He never once mentions anything about a family share plan or does he offer to call me at all. My husband was for fed to sign up for the 10 membership in order to work out and use the facilities. I am very upset with the lack of customer service he was given and the lack of knowledge about the plans perks rhe emploee has. Most importantly is how unnecessary it was to embarrass my husband and harass him while he was in his underwear in the locker room. How can you compensate us for this embarrassment?
Cancelled membership
I have been a loyal member for over 3 years now. I attend your North Huntingdon location 5-6 days a week. Thankfully to your facility I have lost over 150 pounds. On June 17, while I was working out a transgender (man acting like woman) came into your facility. Upon entering he walked straight into ladies room with no warning or announcement to any of the...
Read full review of Planet FitnessPlanet Fitness Review: Mixed Experience with Harassment and Employee Inaction
I just wanna say that I've been going to Planet Fitness for a year now and I gotta say, it's been a mixed bag. On one hand, I really appreciate the 30 minute workout room. I like to get in, get my sweat on, and get out. But on the other hand, I've been dealing with some serious harassment from other members. It's not just one person either, it's been multiple people on multiple occasions. It's really starting to get to me.
Today was the worst though. I asked an employee named Bryce to help me out with the harassment and he did nothing. In fact, he sided with the people who were making fun of me. I don't know the name of the other employee who was there, but they didn't do anything either. It's like they're too scared to say anything or they just don't care. It's really not okay.
I thought Planet Fitness was supposed to be a judgment free zone, but it's starting to feel like anything but. I don't feel safe here and I don't think anyone should have to deal with this kind of treatment. It's really disappointing because I thought this was a good gym, but now I'm not so sure. I'm giving it -100 stars. This is the gym on West 11th in Eugene, Oregon, by the way.
I just want people to know what they're getting into if they decide to join this gym. It's not all sunshine and rainbows. There are some serious issues here that need to be addressed. I hope the employees start taking this kind of thing seriously because it's not fair to the people who just want to work out in peace.
Planet Fitness Stole My Wallet and Ruined My Vacation Plans
I had a really bad experience at Planet Fitness yesterday. I went to the gym to work out and put my backpack in one of the lockers with a combination lock pad. Unfortunately, when I came back to my locker after my workout, I found that my backpack had been stolen, along with my wallet and all my credit and debit cards. I was really upset and frustrated because I had to cancel all my cards and now I won't be able to use them for at least 10 business days. This is a big problem for me because I'm going to be traveling abroad soon and I won't have any way to make transactions or withdraw money from an ATM.
I feel like Planet Fitness ruined my life because now all my accounts are blocked and I don't feel safe on their premises. I usually carry my computer and expensive headphones in my backpack, so I'm lucky that I didn't have them with me yesterday. I had planned to work out at Planet Fitness until the day of my vacation, but now I don't feel comfortable going there anymore. I don't want to be in a place where everyone is a suspect.
I also found out that Planet Fitness doesn't have AC or wifi, even though they say they do. This is really disappointing because I like to work out in a cool environment and listen to music while I exercise. I don't think this is a good place to work out, and I won't be renewing my membership. I know that canceling a membership can be difficult, but I don't want to pay a penny extra to Planet Fitness. I hope that others will choose wisely and avoid this gym.
Unsafe Gym Environment: Running in Workout Area at Planet Fitness District Heights, MD
I recently visited the Planet Fitness gym located in District Heights, MD at the Penn Station shopping center. While I was working out on the incline bench press machine, I was surprised to see someone running around the workout area. This person was wearing sweatpants and a black headband, and was running in front of the front desk, around the cardio equipment, and back through the area where people were using various machines. At first, I was confused and wondered what was going on. However, I soon realized that this person was just trying to get attention. You know the type - the ones who scream and drop weights so that everyone can hear them. This person was doing defensive slides and hopping around people, which was incredibly annoying to me.
What was even more frustrating was that none of the staff members at Planet Fitness said anything to this person. If people have to look both ways just to get to the next machine, then the staff are not doing their job. They always say something if your mask is not on properly, right? So why can't they say something about this? The working area must be safe at all times, and people using this area as a track is just unacceptable.
I'm not sure who I can talk to in order to get this resolved, but I hope that someone at Planet Fitness takes notice and does something about it. Overall, I enjoy working out at Planet Fitness and appreciate the affordable membership prices. However, it's important that the gym remains a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.
Locker Policy at Planet Fitness: A Major Inconvenience for Daily Gym-Goers
I'm a member of Planet Fitness and I gotta say, I love this gym. I'm there five days a week before work, and it's the perfect way to start my day. However, there's one thing that really grinds my gears: the locker policy. You can't leave your stuff in the locker overnight with a lock. If you do, they'll cut your lock and put your stuff in lost and found. As a woman who needs to get ready for work at the gym every day, this is a major inconvenience. I have to cart all my stuff in and out every day - my towel, my makeup, my blow dryer, my uniform, my deodorant, my hair product... you get the idea.
The gym in Citrus County has a ton of lockers that aren't even being used, so I requested an exemption. But no dice - it was denied. This is a real deal breaker for me. I understand that if it's a really busy establishment or there aren't enough lockers for customers, then this policy makes sense. But that's not the case for our Inverness, FL location. It's a smaller county and the locker room has over 100 lockers. Leaving your stuff overnight with a lock should be allowed for the convenience of loyal members like me who come every day and need to get ready for work at the gym.
I really hope that Planet Fitness will change this policy or at least look at it on a location-by-location basis. It's a small thing, but it would make a big difference for members like me. Overall, though, I still love this gym. The equipment is great, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is really welcoming. If you're looking for a gym that won't break the bank, Planet Fitness is definitely worth checking out.
Disappointing Experience at Planet Fitness: Publicly Embarrassed by Assistant General Manager
I've been a member of Planet Fitness for almost ten years now, and I've had a lot of great experiences working out at their many locations with my workout buddies. Overall, I've found that their facilities are usually clean and well-equipped, which is why I've renewed my black card annually.
However, my most recent experience at Planet Fitness was not so great. Two weeks ago, I was publicly embarrassed by one of the Assistant General Managers at the front desk. She accused me of violating the Personal Training policy and told me that I couldn't return to the gym. Her voice was raised and she was very intimidating, which made me feel like a Lunk. I tried to explain that I was just working out with a buddy, but she wouldn't listen. She told me that Planet Fitness has a "3 strikes and you're out" policy on Personal Training, but when I asked her to show me the evidence, she couldn't. Instead, she just got more and more aggressive, and completely lost her professionalism.
I was so upset by this experience that I told my workout buddy about it. She was shocked and wanted to go back to the gym with me to vouch for me, but I didn't want to risk another unfriendly encounter with the staff.
I've tried to reach out to both the franchise and corporate offices to discuss this situation, but I haven't received any reply. It's really disappointing to me that Planet Fitness would treat a long-time member like this, especially when I've always tried to follow their rules and be a good gym-goer.
Disappointing Experience at Planet Fitness in Houma, LA: Poor Staff, Dirty Facilities, and Unsupervised Environment
I've been going to Planet Fitness in Houma, LA for about a year and a half now, and I have to say, it's not getting any better. Every time I go, there are employees just sitting behind the counter, playing on their phones instead of greeting customers or making sure the gym is clean and organized. And let me tell you, the men's locker room always smells terrible. It's like they never clean it.
To make matters worse, the paper towel dispensers are always empty, and the hand sanitizer machine has been broken for over a month now. And don't even get me started on the parking lot. It's a disaster. There are potholes and huge cracks everywhere. It looks like an earthquake hit it.
To top it all off, there's this homeless guy who hangs around the front door and yells at people. It's really uncomfortable. And there's no supervision at all. People are always cursing and slamming equipment, hogging machines, and using two machines at once. It's really frustrating.
One time, there was even a fight because this annoying guy who keeps hanging around and bothering people (the staff does nothing about him) annoyed a group of friends who were just trying to work out in peace. It was really scary.
The employees are just lazy, and I never see a manager on duty. I usually go on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays around 5 pm, and it's always the same. I've talked to other people who have cancelled their memberships and gone to other gyms because of the poor experience at Planet Fitness.
Honestly, I'm thinking about just buying a treadmill and a bike for my home gym and ending the misery of going to Planet Fitness. It's just not worth it.
Mixed feelings about Planet Fitness: Payment methods, judgment-free zone, and overpriced drinks. Plus, a traumatizing locker room experience
So, I gotta say, my experience at Planet Fitness has been pretty decent. I haven't had any of the horror stories that some of y'all have had. But let me tell you, there are some things about this place that just grind my gears.
First off, let's talk about their payment methods. They only accept EFT? Come on, now. Not everyone has a bank account these days. Some of us use prepaid cards like Bluebird or GreenDot. But apparently, if you don't have a traditional bank account, you're not welcome at Planet Fitness. That's just not right.
And then there's the whole "judgment free zone" thing. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the sentiment. But it's not really judgment free if you're getting called out by an alarm system for dropping weights. And don't even get me started on the passive-aggressive judgment that comes from being told to leave because you're "intimidating" someone else with your workout. Like, excuse me? I'm just trying to better myself here.
But the real kicker for me is the prices of their drinks. Five bucks for a Muscle Milk? Are you kidding me? I can get the same bottle for less at the gas station. And don't even think about using the locker rooms if there's a senior citizens event going on. I learned that the hard way when I walked in on a bunch of naked old dudes getting out of the shower. Let me tell you, my mind was scarred for life.
All in all, Planet Fitness is an okay gym. But they've got some serious issues with their business practices and pricing. And don't even get me started on the naked old dudes in the locker room.
Planet Fitness: Poor Customer Service and Runaround for Canceling Memberships
I went to Planet Fitness in February to cancel my membership, but was told that I had to do it online. So, I went online to try and cancel, but the website only allowed me to change my membership level, not cancel altogether. I decided to go back in person, but unfortunately, the gym was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At that point, the app wasn't letting me make any changes since they weren't billing anyone due to the pandemic.
Fast forward to July 17th, and I noticed that I was charged a $23 monthly fee from my bank account. Then, just two weeks later on August 3rd, I was charged an additional $43 for annual fees. I called the gym to explain that my annual renewal date was in April and that I had been trying to cancel my membership since before then to avoid the fee. However, I was told that there was nothing they could do about it.
I was extremely upset about the $66 that was taken out of my bank account within a two-week period for something that I had been trying to cancel for months, but couldn't due to the gym being closed. However, the girl on the phone said that she could cancel my membership since I was upset and they wanted to accommodate me. I was confused because I thought I had to come in person to cancel.
The takeaway from this experience is that Planet Fitness seems to give customers the runaround when it comes to canceling memberships so that they can keep billing them. However, they can adjust their policies when it's convenient for them. Unfortunately, any refunds are "out of their hands" and "per contract," the annual maintenance fee cannot be refunded. Despite my efforts over the past six months to avoid this situation, there has been no correspondence from the gym stating when billing would resume after closing for COVID-19. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the poor customer service.
The Hassle of Cancelling Planet Fitness Membership: A Review
I gotta say, Planet Fitness is a bit of a hassle to deal with when it comes to cancelling your membership. Me and my wife signed up for a year-long agreement, and when it was up we wanted to quit. But boy, was it a pain in the butt to figure out how to do it! We tried contacting them, but all we got was some automated response that didn't help at all. And when we finally did get some info, we found out that it was gonna cost us $108 to quit! What a load of baloney.
But after some digging, we found out that in order to cancel your membership, you gotta either go to the club in person and fill out a cancellation form, or send a letter (preferably via certified mail) to the club requesting cancellation. And get this, you can't cancel via fax, phone, or email. What a bunch of malarkey!
And if you wanna cancel before your 12-month commitment is up, you gotta pay a $58 buyout fee. But if you wait until after the 12 months are up, you don't have to pay that fee. And just so you know, your membership will keep going month-to-month after the commitment is up until you cancel it.
So if you do decide to cancel, make sure you call the club to verify that your membership can be cancelled at that time. And make sure your cancellation request (and any payments owed) are received on or before the 10th of the month if you don't wanna get billed on the 17th. And if you wanna avoid the annual fee on the 1st, you gotta get your cancellation in by the 25th of the previous month.
Overall, Planet Fitness is a decent gym, but their cancellation process is a bit of a headache. Just make sure you follow their rules and you should be able to get out of there without too much trouble.
Unsatisfactory Experience at Planet Fitness: Overcharged and Misled
I had a pretty frustrating experience at Planet Fitness. When I went to the service counter, I spoke to a young white girl (I think she was the youngest one there). I told her that I had been overcharged for my annual fee of $39 and my monthly fee of $22. I thought that was way too much, so I told her I wanted to cancel my membership.
She said that was fine and that she could give me a refund for both fees. I handed over my black membership card and cancelled everything. Then I asked her for a receipt or some kind of paperwork, but she said they don't give out any documents and that I shouldn't worry about it. She told me I would get the refund after I stopped coming to the gym.
But then I found out that they were offering memberships for free or for $10, and yet they charged me $39. That really made me angry.
Then the pandemic hit and the gym had to close. I wrote to them a few times on their website asking about my refund, but I never got a reply. When I called a few days ago, someone transferred me to another person who told me about their policies. But I don't care about their policies! I just want my money back!
Now I feel like I've been misled and robbed of my hard-earned money. The girl at the service counter told me one thing, but now the gym is saying something different. I want justice! They need to refund my money or extend my membership without charging me high amounts. I'm willing to use the service, but I don't want to be ripped off.
Another thing that bothered me was that the massage beds were often out of order and the chairs weren't working properly. I never complained about those things, but now they're talking about their policies. It's just not fair.
If I don't get the justice I deserve, I'm going to take to social media and write to the corporate office at 4 Liberty Ln W, Hampton, NH ***. I'm also going to write to the BBB. They need to know what's going on.
If you need to contact me, you can call me at ***018. If I don't answer, just leave a message and I'll call you back.
Thanks,
Sisira Fonseka

Was asked to leave and membership cancelled after questioning, manager christopher, about stationary bike placement, please contact me at [protected]@aol.com
He said I was being cancelled because I video taped the situation, see the video for yourself, christopher seemed to believe I needed to be cancelled for a legitimate concern that I was requesting a way to make a suggestion to the current situation with bike placement, after questioning and asking he told me to leave the premises, when the gym was opened the bikes were placed for easy viewing of the tvs, not so now, when I moved one bike back to see the tvs he told me I couldnt and that there was a need to handicap access, you can see in my video that his explanation is not consistent with the placement of the other bikes and equipment, christopher was not polite, nor helpful
I have video to share and my explanation

Desired outcome: membership reinstated

i have been working out at planet fitness on moss street for over a year, this manager is new to this facility, i have never seen him at the previous location, nor have i ever had any problems at any gym i have been a member at for 40 years and as a 60 yr old man, someone who works out 5-7x a week, i am the kind of member that brings a level of maturity and experience to the gym and its family, its highly disappointing that this event would be the reason behind cancelling my membership, i believe there is definitely a better way to resolve the situation other than punishing me
customer service by this employee, manager christopher, was not to any legitimate standard, i was never given any chance, when i asked for the number or contact to his current superior or a number to the corporate office i was told he wouldnt give me the name of his supervisor and he gave me a bogus number to call, i have the card he wrote the number on, the number he gave was [protected], call it and see who answers, if you want a picture of his card with his hand writing and number i would be happy to provide it as well

medcnman22@aol.com
as you can see my inquiry was polite and not confrontational, i had already moved the bike back to where he wanted it, i rode the bike for 20 minutes then went to ask for an avenue to make a suggestion where and then i was met by christophers order to leave the premises, i quietly left and am now making this document to show and provide the details and add transparency to the situation, there are no signs posted at the facility saying i could not video, nor was i given any warning or attempt by christopher to work on a civil remedy to the situation

AC Not working??
Hello. I really hate to complain, but the gym I workout at does not have working AC's. Was informed by an employee, I believe he was the manager, that its being worked on. Strange that is it taking over a month to get it fixed. Well, it isn't even fixed. One time I was told that corporate controls the AC. Is that true? If so, can someone from corporate...

Planet fitness makes it stupid hard to cancel your membership ship. Then they lie to you and say it’s for legal reasons that they have to have a physical paper document. Stop! We know you’re lying. Now that I know all the work it takes to get out of this simple contract I will never! Never sign up for planet fitness again. Even if it’s right next to my house. You’re going to get another 20 or 40 bucks out of me while I physically write a damn letter and snail mail it to you (something I have not done in twenty years). But someday I may move back to a town that has a planet fitness and you will not have me as a return customer. I promise you you lose more return customers over this stupid policy than any other reason. What? You think I’d you make hard to opt out I might change my mind? Whoever masterminded this policy is an idiot. Opting out should be simply an online button click. If it had been I would have easily and gladly rejoined at my earliest convenience. I moved away 8 months ago and have just kept paying “just in case”. Now you’ve lost me as ever being a return customer simply to steal another moth or twos worth of membership. Goodbye
Desired outcome: Change your policy. Make cancellations of service as simple as possible. Instead of being so clingy. Stop lying to customers. You legally have to have a piece of paper? Whatever.
Unprofessional staff member
The associate at the Parmer Crossing Parmer Crossing 12611 N Mopac Expy Unit 3 Austin, TX 78727 Planet Fitness was very rude and unprofessional.
