the bread slicer
For the past four weeks I have being visiting matlapeng shoprite in devland and each time I want to slice my bread the slicer is so dirty and complaining to the supervisors and nothing is being done about it and yesterday on the 1st of march I spoke to the manager and he said the supervisors know that they have to clean it but my surprise is how does he do he's sounds in the shop if he's not aware that they leave the slicer so dirty . Even took some pictures cos I believe that place need to be hygienic clean cos we use it every second when we buy unsliced bread .

I sent my elderly father to shoprite Ga-Rankuwa for some groceries to my surprise when he got back home he had four packs chicken portions which of course I sent for but according to the till slip he bought 6 packs. Where are the other two? Do I stand to loose over a R100 bucks I worked hard for? Shoprite I need answers and I need them now. Are the elder being robbed in there?

January 2017 my daughter lesedi Mapharisa entered this school fees competition and on the 16 February 2017 I receives a call from shoprite informing me that my daughter won the competition but they still have to call school to confirm the amount not the school fees and they ask me of the phone numbers of the school I said I will call them back with it . after an hour they phoned me and informed me that my daughter did not win because the school fees at her primary school is more than R5000.00. But according to the terms and conditions it has no were where it says the school fees should be exactly R5000.00.I am very disappointed about they way that store mnger was screaming at me about e wanting him to commit fraud del
The complaint was resolved in style with school fees paid and stationary to last us a full year and on top of that they built us a cake. Thanks again shoprite for making my child s dream to come thorough.
Today I am please to tell you my complaints was resolved. They made a grand entrance at my child school it was perfect. They paid the school fees and even gave her hamper and baked her a cake. I have pictures I will post them on shoprite Facebook. Shoprite is the company I trust.
money transfer problem

I write this massage to report that I have been badly treated by shoprite management from western cape (worcester region in zwelethemba location). I made a money tranfere on the 25/01/2017 at 14:34 and I forgot the pin nmbr the following day I went and fix it they said I must wait for 2-weaks, when two weeks passed they said I must wait for 4 days in order for the money to come back to me which I did, and the money didn't came till now. And today I had a serious argument with the manager, she was declaring that she found an email from the people who are busy with this money problem they said I must give my alternative number, bt I already did that last week friday. I told her I waited long enough from 25 jan til 17 feb. Then she chased me out of her office saying that she' doesn't want to see me. Please if help me out because I really need my money its been a long time now.

The day in question is February 2, 2017. As I was going to check out I noticed that all the checkers were unfamiliar to me except for one. There were many checkers there that day. My purchase was $212 approximately.
I was called by the credit card company several days later. there were purchases, unknown to me, from a SHOP-RITE in Orange New Jersey for over $200 on February 5. There were three other charges on the same day and in the same town- Orange and West Orange.
When I saw the other charge from SHOP-RITE in a different town it raised a red flag to me.
It may not have been an incident from your store but I think you want to be aware of this. I hesitate to use a credit card and that store again. I have been shopping in that store for over 10 years on a regular basis.

Sit reeds vir baie jare al met die vernedering en letsels wat deur die Sekuriteits Maatskappy wat deur Shoprite gebruik word aan my gedoen is.
Die voorval het reeds in November 2013 plaasgevind te Shoprite Sibasa.
Die dag met die voorval wou ek dadelik n saak maak, maar is deur die sekuriteits beampte gesmeek om dit nie toe doen nie, so ook deur my besigheids partner. Want op daardie stadium was ons besig met n Re-vamp te Shoprite Sibasa.
Dit was op n Vrydag 13:45 en het ek uit die winkel gegaan. Soos ek weet deursoek hulle die mense wat daar besig is om te werk. Die sekuriteits beampte het met sy hand om my borste gevoel en so oor my hele lyf. Toe ek vir hom vra wat dink hy doen hy, het hy gese hy is baie jammer. Ek was woedend en die trane het geloop, die vernedering vir my as vrou was te veel. Vandag baie jare later, voel ek vuil en verneder.

On monday I was at shoprite plamsprings mall to withdraw money which is R1800 at first I was told by the teller that I have wait side coz she does not such money and I should let someone to come and make payment I ended up going home without my money on Tuesday I send someone to go and collect something happen where we are told they don't have enough money she return back without my money now I feel as if I am there to borrow where as all I want is my money that has been deposited at shoprite so I think if you can't service us please close down this money market ### or give us altanative where we can withdraw e.g ATM and this thing that your cashier saying we need to wait for someone to deposit for us to withdraw it must stop

I’m writing this email to explain my utter disgust at how some of your staff at Checkers and checkers Liquor Kloof Street Cape Town. treated my boyfriend on Friday the 13th January 2017. After being over charged for reduced goods at your supermarket and having to go back home only to realise the mistake, my boyfriend then drove back for the refund. He was treated with disrespect and the refund book shoved into his face. That same evening we visited the Liquor store to buy a bottle of KWV Shiraz wine only to be over charged for that. My Boyfriend went back to the liquor store after his refund from the supermarket and explained what had happened they told him to go home fetch the bottle of wine and bring it in. He did exactly that. Upon arriving back at the bottle store he was ignored by the staff at the till and then told to go to the back of the store to the manager, he did so and started explaining with the bottle of wine in his hand, The manager refused to listen and started calling security saying he had stolen the bottle of wine, even though he had the slip and had just been in the store a few minutes before, (we live just up the road). Security came and grabbed his arm and held him whilst they checked the security cameras to see if he had stolen the wine. Checkers Liquor was busy at this point and there was a long queue of people over looking the incident. He was humiliated and close to tears from his frustration at this point. They eventually pulled up the time he walked into the store and found that he had in fact not stolen the wine and done just what he was told. The security let go of his arm and the manager refunded him the R9.99 overcharge. She did not apologize and looked rather annoyed that she had to now give him money back. We are not cheapskates, but the fact is the principle of being overcharged by R9.99 and minutes before for groceries. My family and I all live in the area of Oranjezicht and use your store nearly on a day to day basis. I can assure you that after this incident none of us will be shopping at any checkers branches. This experience has not only traumatized him but also outraged his own family members and friends. Your staff are rude and abrasive and not trained properly. No- one has offered him an apology and that in itself shows poor management.

My name is victoria mausoleum cell no [protected]. Today the 26th january 2017 I bought a full marinated chicken (Lemon and herb) at daveyton sesfikile square shoprite. I got home starting to prepare supper for my family, when I opened the chicken it has a bad bad smell I decided to atleast wash it remove the marinate only to find thattached inside it's rotten. Being tired coming back from work wanting to cook for my husband and my kids then find this. I'm so very disappointed I never bought something from other shoprites that were rotten only in that shoprite. I am so sure i'm not the only one who is disappointed.
I now pledge to shoprite. Superiors to take time and send inspectors there. Even open one of those marinated chickens.
I'm a very angry and disappointed loyal customer pity it's late and I can't go to the store.

"Shoprite from home" has been charging me for groceries, but have only been delivering portions of my order. When asked for the remaining items, the customer service representative acknowledges the error, but will never produce the missing items. After numerous phone calls and endless hours on hold, the items reluctantly appear. It is unfair to promise a service, and then not deliver what has been promised. I shouldn't have to fight for my items. This behavior has become the company's trademark. It's unfair to have customers pay for an entire order, and deliver only part of the order.

On the 7th of February 2016 I received a cash transfer of about R100 from someone who used Shoprite at Mayfield Square at Benoni on the East Rand in Gauteng, for me to use it for transport coming from Actonville at Benoni going to Daveyton.
Unfortunately for me the pin which was given to me got lost and I ended up not getting back the money from your store at Mayfield as I have made means to eventually get to Daveyton days later. I was asked to bring the necessary documents which were required in order for them to give me a new pin by SMS and I'll have to have gotten the pin within 3 months after receiving all the documents asked. It's been almost a year already but still I haven't heard anything from u and as for your employees at Mayfield Square I must say I'm really Not pleased by how they handled this ordeal, I got angry and pissed in such a way that I even had the thought of writing to Speak Out just for this ordeal because really I find it so difficult to understand why a lousy R100 could make one go through so much just to get it. I went there to check if it still appears in your System and I found that it is still there. Kindly attend to this matter as I won't be as patient as I've been the past few months.

eggs and general lack of customer satisfaction
Brakpan - Hi, our store only seems to have 1 supplier for their eggs, which is odd and really bad at the same time since the eggs are of the worst quality. Over the months it seems as if the supplier has been reserving the worst stock for our branch. The eggs are rotten! and if not rotten, when you crack them open they run like water?!. Also of late the carrots have also seemed to have been of a more run down quality, old and quite a few packets still have mud, or sand on them. I am not used to seen this quality in our store but if it is not stopped immediately then it will just get worse. There is a heck of an over abundance of fish, which would be good if the fish sold out but this is brakpan and at those prices it is pathetic to have so much in stock, however a variety of fish would be better. The hake/haddock with sauce was more affordable and the steam fish would be nice to see. Last but not least. The bakery is a joke, has been for a long time now, I do not buy from your bakery because the quality is sickening, there is no heart going into the baking and the staff no longer feel the need to wear gloves! A total revamp is needed in that department. The quality is really just plain dodgy. The managers need to get off their butts and actually do the work they are paid for. One store! one frikking store and that is Shoprite and it should be the best store but it looks like a dogs breakfast and no effort is being made to satisfy your customers. Everyone knows that Sundays most folk like to go and buy fresh nummy smelling bread and rolls. Well the only thing I want to do on Sunday is frikking cry for our store, either it's not ready by ten or its burnt! Shop Rite on Fox and Henry Ave in Philadelphia, Pa is a nightmare.. That store service is the worst, and customer I can't begin to tell you about the. They are slow and have a don't care attitude. Manager is not any better. The line are very slow all the time. I hate going into that place. I was in a 15 items line and the cashier worked on one people for more then 15 min. That is not right. That store at one time was clean, worker's were pleasant even management. I can't wait until another store that is closer to me open.

hi, i was at shoprite oxford street week before last and every time its pay day or pay weekend the queues tend to be loooooong, there was no staff member or supervisor to reassure us that they have called someone to come and help on the tills. today 14/01/17 i was at shoprite Gill well mall and i waited for almost close to an hour and i was on lunch at the time which meant i could not even eat because my lunch hour was over when i got back to work!
on both occasions i saw that there was at least six cash registers open but no-one to serve us, your most valued customers who actually pays you guys.

I called the Shoprite in Waretown NJ about a price I was charged. I had lost my receipt and the lady had to look up my info from my name. I had purchased turkey breast from the deli and was charged $5.99 a lb and it was on sale for $2.99 a pound.When the lady looked it up she told me yes I was over charged but... "you paved for it with food stamps !" What difference does it make how I paved for it? As a disabled veteran who now needs some help to support his family I think it was very belittling and rude to comment that ! I hope that's not the way they treat anyone else !

grilled chicken portions (ready to eat)
Hi.
Today the 7 january 2017 i bought grilled chicken at checkers westgate mall at about 13:00. When i got home i opened the packet and ate of the chicken without really looking at it. But when i took a closer look i realized it had maggot eggs forming on it just a hour after i bought the chicken. I am also pregnant and suffering from severe hyperemisis. I feel very dishearted to think i ate that chicken with worms forming on it. What if it does harm to my unborn child? I cannot accept what happened to me with just a simple appology. I am also a loyal customer to checkers westgate.
So i went through to show it to the manager. He checked and confirmed it to be maggots. I told them that i am prepared to take the matter to the newspaper. He then took the chicken away. I asked him to freeze it as proof, which he agreed upon. I feel that i need to be compensated for this traumatic experience. I tried vomiting it out but i still feel really bad from eating that disgusting chicken. Never had anything like this happened to me before.
I hope that i will be properly compensated for what happened today

goods taken from parcel counter
I would like to lodge a complaint with regard to an incident which occurred on the 26th December '16 at the Shoprite branch in Claremont Main Road. My husband and myself entered the store after 10 am with a KFC barrel. My immediately bought a plastic bag to put the KFC inside, approached the lady at the parcel counter and gave the KFC to her whereby he received a parcel ticket. At this time the security guard had also been standing there. On this specific day the store wasn't that busy, perhaps because it was still mid morning. We then got one cold drink from the fridge, a box of snacktime biscuits and went to the bakery for rolls. Leaving the bakery we walked past the fruit & veg heading for the till point. Just as we were about to place our goods on the counter by the Cashier, my husband reached in his pocket for the parcel ticket and realized, he had been pick pocketed and without delay, went to the lady at the parcel counter for the KFC. The security still standing at the parcel counter looked amazed when my husband asked for out KFC. She told him someone just redeemed the ticket and walked out. She told us that she had asked the person where my husband was at the time because he handed the ticket in but this guy convinced her my husband was outside waiting on him but we were still very much in the store heading to the till point. She was shocked and didn't really know how to handle the situation and she pointed out the guy was very dirty looking. The Store manager was called and he and my husband viewed the footage and they could actually see the guy walking
out of the store with the KFC barrel in his hand. The Store Manager took my details and got back to me on the 29th Dec '16 informing me he has bad new because he addressed this with Head Office and they said you cannot keep track of who walks in an out form the parcel counter. I told him that's not the case because if it was, the lady at the parcel counter would not have asked that guy where my husband was. She asked him twice and gave it hesitantly which means she new exactly who gave in the KFC. On that specific morning we probably spent about less than 20 minutes inside the store because even the Cashier who assisted us was shocked because she remembered my husband leaving the KFC at the parcel counter because he bought the plastic bag from her. I'm very unhappy to lose R250 just like that when our goods was left in Shoprites parcel counter and while still getting things inside the store, was pick pocketed just like that. This could have been my entire monthly shopping or an expensive appliance that could have been lost to some predator. The Store manager said he would get back to me but still hasn't. Shoprite/Checkers is my most preferred retailer of choice and i can assure you my bulk shopping happens at Shoprite. Right now i'm not in a happy space and yet i have so many family and friends who shops at Shoprite and Checkers. Can someone please attend to my complaint asap.

till lady that was so rude
At shoprite in sophia town date: 31/12/2016. Lane: 9. Time: 12:52:10 as per my till slip. The till lady (Khaya as told by the floor manager) was so rude. There was no "cash only " sign at the till. The man infront of us used his bank card, she then turned to the packer and told her in her language that people can't read. I started to complain, she told me "i'm not talking to you". I asked to speak to the manager (Who was not to be found). As we left the till the till lady, took the sign and placed it on her head and say loudly "this is a cash only". frozen salmon advertised in natal mercury
In the Natal Mercury of 28th December 2016 there was a double page ad for various items at Checkers and Checkers Hypers. The item that caught my eye was frozen salmon at R6.99 per 100g and a picture of pink salmon filleted and deboned advertised the product. On 29th December 2016 I went to the Checkers Cascades branch and after some time was assisted by the "fish" person who told me that it was a mistake in the paper and only available at the Checkers Hypers, altho the ad specifically stated that the specials were available at both. I was told to go to the Brookside Checkers Hyper which I did - only to be eventually by a manager that neither the branch manager, nor anyone else, knew anything about the advert or the salmon. The assistant at the fish counter told me that it was Cape Salmon and produced an entire fish with head and tail, nothing like the misleading picture that was put in the paper. I travelled about 30 kms in all and wasted at least an hour and a half and I'm afraid I left empty handed and vowing never to shop at Checkers again. This is a case of blatant misleading advertising and Checkers should be ashamed of themselves!
over charging
i come to the grey town once year, last year i was over charged R130, this year R30, not sure what the issue is in the store i think managment. once having the problem i was able to deal with buy twice some is not right i the store, on the 24th the store was so buys so i can belive how many people where robbed as not checking prices. what is happing in the store is not correct as per consumer protection act.
