Good day,
I bought 2 sachets of Darling 1 litre milk yesterday morning, 24th October 2023, just after the shop opened. Needless to say, I never checked the expiry dates as I expect fresh produce to be packed in a big store like Checkers, especially after a weekend. I needed the milk to make porridge for my elderly mom which is why I purposely went 1st thing the morning. While having her breakfast, she complained the milk was sour. I told her she's mistaken as I just bought it now. I tasted it myself and yes, it was sour. Not sour enough to curdle when I warmed it in the microwave, but still sour.
I called the branch, and they advised I need to bring the milk back. I did so this morning, not even an apology from the branch manager. All he asked was whether I wanted my money back or the milk replaced. I requested my money back and bought another brand of milk. Just for interest's sake I checked the Darling milk sachets and was very surprised that there was still milk dated 20 October packed in the fridge. This after I asked yesterday why they have old milk stocked.
I am very upset about the lack of concern that they had expired milk in the fridge and that I had to drive back to the store to return the milk. NO apology or anything offered to make this disgusting, time wasting experience better. My car reeks of sour milk as I especially kept some to proof that it was sour and just my luck that it spilled.
This is my 1st bad experience with any store, and I am sure if this was in a better suburb it would have been dealt with better.
Concerned and upset customer.

Desired outcome: I need this to be addressed at the store with the branch manager.
