major complaint against your employee at shoprite sophiatown
For the kind attention of Senior Management at Head Office, on Friday the 10th November 2017, your supervisor by the name of "Yvette" (coloured lady)...was highly unprofessional in her manner, i was standing at your lotto counter with my bag on the counter and another intoxicated customer standing next to me asked me to move my bag (it was in nobodys' way and not harming anybody) - the next thing he knocked my bag plus all its' personal contents' to the ground, so i said to the intoxicated man that i am going to give him a "slap"...the next thing this "Yvette" waltzed up to me (not knowing the circumstances' as to what had happened and said to me in my face shouting at me infront of 2 witnesses' how can i say that to her customer (not bearing in mind that i to am a loyal customer to Shoprite)...next thing she tells' security to remove me from your store...this intimidation, harassment and deformation via "Yvette" has been going on since last year 2016 December...it all started when i made a mistake of not being in the right state of mind at that time period in my life when i had shoplifted 3 christmas tree decorations'...i was locked up...i confess i did the time for the crime and was traumatized beyond recognition after my case was thrown out of court...after a month of therapy, i went back to your Shoprite Sophiatown where the "mistake" from my side took place and appologised to your senior lady manager at the time, Sis Joyce and Ma Mavis (whom is no longer with us, she passed away)...when i went in to buy groceries' this "Yvette" came up to me and asked "have you come here to steal again"...the Manager at the time overheard this and took "Yvette" into her office (obviusly for a verbal warning) - i made a mistake once and ever since then this employee of yours' has been intimidating, harrasing and deformation of character whenever she (Yvette) has that opportunity...she is a malicious and viscious employee whom does not carry your Shoprite integrity well, i have spoken to my Lawyer and was advised to contact you being Head Office first...if nothing gets' done about the above stipulated employee, i will be forced to open up a case of intimidation, harrasment and deformation of character against her (Yvette)...this has been going on for far to long...Kindest gratitude Trace Antill...my email [protected]@vodamail.co.za...my contact no. falsely accused of shoplifting
Good day.
I tried calling but lines are busy. Yesterday 8/11/[protected]@ 16:25 I was purchasing some items at shoprite rustenburg 7141.
As I was about to exit the store a rude security guard, was not even sure if he was a security guard because he had no identification., ask me escort him to office. I was not sure what it was all about and followed him. On our way to office he told me to admit or I will be in trouble. Still shocked about the incident I ask him what I should I admit to.
As we enter a small room a lady started to search me., asking her what she was searching for she told me she aint sure.
After finding nothing on me the rude security guard showed a mitchum box, telling me he saw me put the content in my pocket at cashier. I told him nothing has been found on me and they can check the cameras, which offcourse was never viewed.
I was so furious and insisted to sspeak to manager, whereas I explained the situation. Manager obviously apologised but im afraid a apology aint exceptable after the humiliation I adured.
I shop at shoprite on a regular basis, and never ever was I so humiliated. They where suppose to make sure of their facts before threatening me.
I hope my message reach the relevant person and who is willling to take my claim serious. If not within 2 days I am left with no other option to take this matter further.
Thanks

service and staff behaviour
I submitted the below complaint, on the 13/10/2017, no one has bothered to comeback to me.
If this is the type of care and empathy your company has towards young children then it is pathetic, my son is only 1 years 8 months and the incident was avoidable. No has apologized or called me or sent me any sort of communication.

Enquiry Good Day,
Yesterday my wife and my 1 year 8 month old son, was in your Usave Store in Halt Road, One of your staff member without warning took a plastic chair from the top shelf which fell on my sons head. My son was extremely dis-strawed and cried. My wife went to the Day Hospital as it was closest, because the Manager said they could not help to take my son to a private doctor. If your staff member advised my wife that he was removing stock from the shelves the chair would have not fallen on my son. They were not helpful in the branch and it's a disgrace.

poor service
Good day I was in U save now and I'm very disgusted with the cashier and the security. There is only one till open and a lot of people standing in the queue. One lady don't wanna stand in the row and she gave her groceries as well as her money for the other women who stood at the cashier at that time. I've told her that she can't do it because we all are standing in the queue and wait our turn. She said she can do it because it's her sister. The security and the manager and the cashier heard the argument, but when I came to the till they told me they didnt heard or saw it. Strange ne! Anneline du Plooy [protected]
shoprite derails efforts to end violence against women and children in rural limpopo
Our organisation www.tvep.org.za is striving to address violence against women and children in the Vhembe community of Limpopo. We have a grant from the EU to conduct 5-day dialogues to a total of 1, 200 people - 600 this year, 600 next year. To encourage them to attend these dialogues, we give each person a stipend of R200. Instead of giving cash, we decided to give them Shoprite vouchers. The first order of 200 vouchers took 5 days to reach us instead of the promised 3 days. At the last minute we had to divert the delivery to the campaign site, and they arrived literally one hour before the end of the dialogues, when they were due to be distributed. We had spent two days on the phone to Letitia, in a total panic trying to chase up the delivery. When we confirmed receipt with her, on the phone, we did not - in the stress of the moment - remember to FORMALLY ask for them to be activated, and she said nothing. As a result, the dialogue participants used R30 of their own money to travel to the nearest Shoprite in Louis Trichardt, did their shopping, only to have their vouchers declined. Consequently, a community meeting was held and the community informed. Your lack of care has trashed our efforts - God knows how we will overcome this; we have set wheels in motion to broadcast what happened repeatedly over MakhadoFM, and will be placing an announcement in the Mirror Newspaper. You could redeem yourselves with public apologies, and vouchers of R30 to compensate participants who travelled to Shoprite, but Letitia is washing her hands of this matter. The balance of the vouchers we need, valued at R200, 000, will be purchased from SPAR instead. What a huge disappointment this has been.

unethical behaviour
I was extremely inconvenienced on the 18th of September 2017 by a driver (who I later discovered was a Shoprite Checkers employee) in a white Yaris, who forced me off the road and ran through several stop streets, leaving my vehicle in an un-drivable condition. This driver then drove away and I would never have traced him if not for the help of a good Samaritan who chased after him and got his number plate. I reported the incident to Shoprite's E.Niekerk who treated me with an unapologetic mild neglect and referred me to third part insurance.
I have been drastically inconvenienced by this incident, as I am a consultant and have sites all over the Western Cape I need to attend to.
This is threatening my livelihood and have had to rely on the goodwill of others to get around.
My employer has been understanding up to a certain point, but is becoming increasingly irritated at my lack of productivity.
I do not know what actions, if any, have been taken against this employee as Shoprite has been treating this incident as though it never occurred.
money market reset pin
I went to Ludlelo & Luthando str Roodekop shoprite on the 29/08/2017 to deposit money to send to someone, I sent the mi number but forgot the last digit of the pin. so I went back to report to the ladies working at the money market. so they said I must come back after 2 weeks they will send the pin to my number. I waited 2 weeks but no pin was sent and waited another week. I went banck to report this matter to the manager this time told to wait another week they will send the pin up until to date which is the 02/10/2017 I have not received that pin which means I can withdraw the money I put in the shoprite becasue they dont want to sent the pin
my name is sylvia matsane [protected] are my details
I send my money to my family and I give them pin to cash out the money and they lost the numbers and throw away my slip so how can I receive that slip number again
I deposited money with Shoprite money on the 28th of June and then gave numbers and pin to my sister, and when she tried to withdraw the money she was told the pin was incorrect, i then thought that maybe there was a typo on my side and went back to the shop on Thursday the 5th. They took my ID and slip and promised that i will get the message within 2 working days which i have not received till today. I phoned this morning to follow up with the shop and requested they give me their head office contact number so that i can call them directly, they refused, saying there is no number, i feel robbed and losing trust can someone urgently contact me me please to get this rectified? rude employee
Today the 27 September 2017 at 14:20 I went to Shoprite (114 Maitland Street, Bloemfontein) to buy a slice of cake from their bakery section. I stood in queue for my turn to be assisted, upon my turn I requested a slice of cake, only to be told by a Kenalemang Laauw (a general worker who was in the bakery section) she could not help me because she doesn't know the code, . I asked if there was any other person to assist then she said no. Then she left me there and proceeded to assist another customer who found me in line to be assisted.
Another employee was passed by and I requested that lady to find the manager for me, maybe the manager will know the code since the people behind the counter don't, then Kenalamang Laauw became loud and confrontational and asked me why do I talk to other people about her. I explained to her that I wanted the manager because her response to my request was unacceptable, she told me I should have told her that I want to see the manager because she would have gladly called the manager for me and asked whether I thought she was scared.
Finally someone called the manager for me, a Jan Van der Westhuizen who is the sales manager at the store. I told him what happened and he told me that he understands where she's coming from because she doesn't work there and when they are short staffed they use any staff member available. He told me that the customers must understand their challenges as well but having said that he apologises on her behalf.
I told him I was not happy with how he is handling the situation because it is not my job to understand the nitty gritties of their staff allocation to different departments, that my expectation of a person standing behind the counter is that they know what must be done and I strongly felt that the lady should apologize to me. He told me he is apologizing on her behalf and will later deal with her in the office.
She was standing behind him with a grin on her face, and I asked why is it that she can speak to me in that manner publicly but be dealt with privately. Then he told that's how they handle things. I made him aware that I intend to further the matter and he encouraged me to go right ahead.
That's the service I got! How do you even expect junior staff to even entertain the idea of good customer service if their superiors don't? I'm so disappointed and I demand an apology from that lady. She should be disciplined, no customer deserves to be treated like that.

the appalling treatment we received at shoprite in murchinson mall, ladysmith.
On the 21st of September we were shopping at the Shoprite in Murchinson mall in Ladysmith. One of my colleagues innocently entered the shop sith an empty powerade bottle that she had had for days in her bag. The security guard checked our bags as we were leaving and reported us to his supervisor who then took us to Thabile, one of the floor supervisors at Shoprite. She was very rude because she started raising her voice saying that we were wrong by entering the shop without getting a cancellation from the security guard. There is nothing whatsoever that acknowledges us as customers of such. She was very rude and told us she will call the police on us. We apologised and asked them to check the cameras and they told us that they did not have time for that because they are busy with stock taking which is not our problem. they were not willing to work with us as customers. The store manager, Mrs Sing said that we should pay for the powerade and we refused. we said that we have never been treated like this at any supermarket and that we would never enter their store again. Thabile the supervisor said we should actually go shop somewhere else. all of this was happening in front of the store manager who just did nothing while her employee was attacking us and being rude in front of other of their employees and the shoprite customers.
cash back request
Manager on Duty Mr E Roos
Cashier Raymonde
I get to the till requesting cash as well as my goods she says to me.there's no cash I say so what should I do there are 2 tills open and I already waited 30 minutes in this line she says nothing and goes on scanning my goods when.I needs to pay I ask what to do about the cash she says and does nothing I ask another worker walking pass if she could assist she then suggests I go to the Kiosk draw the cash and and then pay for the good by now the costumers are so annoyed as they are all waiting so long . The cashier at the Kiosk then advises me that my bank is offline FNB . I now am so confused I'm not sure what to do I ask if there is a manager in store to assist with the situation one of the three ladies by the Kiosk then decides to go get a manager. The initial cashier that helped me Raymonde is now smoking me with the other costumers in the line shaking her head and laughing. The manager eventually comes and saved my transaction so I could go try another till it eventually works. Had it not been so late I would of left the good and left to Pick n Pay hyper where I'm sure I would of received a better service.
The Manager never apologised once for the inconvenience caused or as a matter of fact said one word to me.
I have never been so humiliating.
Be assured I will Wright to the papers and contact as much radio stations as I can to get this putrid Shiprite Service out .
service given
I went to Marapyane Usave shop and cashier was rude to me. I was paying for item that I needed and wanted cash back. I told her that I need money and she kept quiet. I asked her again and she told me that when she is quite that means money is available. I have never heard any where in communication skills where they say being quite means what ever you are enquiring about is available. I suggest that you take your stuff for training because it shows that they are clueless on providing value for money service
dettol bar soap (original - hygiene soap)
Purchased 6 bars of Dettol soap from Shoprite Checkers at the Atrium Mall (Over-port City, Juniper Road, Durban).
After a shower, I realized the soap was not a Dettol bar soap, but a FAKE.
I know this, since I have been using this soap for years, it had NO Dettol fragrance to it. I still have these soaps in my possession.
This is a very serious offence for a famous name-brand store to possibly have FAKE or counterfeit products on their shelf. This questions your procurement procedures, quality control or its subsequent breach, not to mention the serious harm this product could do to people who use it.
I would appreciate, if your investigator contact me urgently. I am very disappointed with Shoprite Checkers!

service
Good day, I called the Gateway Checkers, Umhlanga, store on saturday and spoke to manager, Perry. I asked him about a list of goods that I needed the price for. First he said to me that he is not allowed to do that..I then asked him on whose instructions he said it was checkers rules...Is that correct? I then said to him that I would lodge a formal complaint..Perry then said that he would do that for me only on monday - (would call me promptly on monday at 10 am, I'm still waiting?) not on saturday as he is very busy.
This is not the first time this happened ...last time he promised to call and never did. We buy every month over a thousand rands worth of groceries for my pensioned mother, who likes to keep her brain active by being in control of how she budgets her money . Hence the reason for her wanting to know how much items cost? Surely this can be easily done on your dummy till to check for prices?
Service excellence is tantamount to customer satisfaction especially to the elderly people who have to rely on others to do the buying for them.
I invite your indulgence and look forward to hearing from you?
Kind regards
D.Bekker

kettle ottimo
My Jeniffer mashabane, on 27/0/2017 I went to ShopRite dawn park to buy ottimo kettle, I was R149.95 on the shelf but when they scanned it, it scanned R179.95, I took a packer to the shelf, she took the price and showed it to the store manager by the name of Ntokozo Mbele, he kept on arguing with me that it was not their fault but customers fault that placed the price there, he kept me there for almost 30 minutes, until I told him to cancel the transaction and I went home without the kettle that I needed so bad., Please call me at [protected]
