I have seen a lot of complaints about UPS and I have no doubt in my mind that they are correct. I work for UPS. They are the most self-centered, dishonest and discriminatory company as far as I know. As with lot of companies, the phrase “who you know is who you blow” applies here too. Having the unpleasant experience of being in the “pool” for part-time management promotion, it seems that all the candidates that are hired are young, inexperienced and should we say... less intelligent. And these people are managing the real people who are handling your packages and making the money for the upper management who decides where it is wasted... upper management of course!

It is funny to see when they are pinching minutes from the occupational (i.e. hourly employees) in order to save money and shoveling it to the management. But hey, that’s free enterprise procedure.

After having the experience of several years at UPS, they have literally liquidated my loyalty. I use to be loyal to UPS and do my job to the best, but today work is still done to the best, but the loyalty is gone. And this is due to the discriminatory and dishonest way of dealing with people. I got screwed in the process and I’m sure there are more to count. If I may say something that UPS did right, was the color they chose. It is brown, and it reflects the color of ###. BIG ###.

The troubles at UPS are endless. Employee turnover is horrible and since they are treating the people as they are, word gets around and eventually you run out of employees. But that is something that they are not concerned. Also, UPS wants to be the “safety organization of the world” but anything that is unsafe is usually ignored and even if acknowledged, it takes forever to fix it. So when you say UPS, might as well say “ooops...” .

So for all the people out there, you are NOT stuck with UPS. Use FedEx, USPS (United States Postal Services) or DHL. I was actually shocked to find out that FedEx “ground” is CHEAPER than UPS after they bought out a low cost package carrier. FedEx is more reliable in my mind and I cannot remember having complaint about them. Postal services have more alternatives than ever before and you can always check DHL references on-line. I am personally applying a job at DHL just for the challenge. I know that I can contribute to them or any other company more than I can to UPS. Knowledge increases the pain they say, and now I know what they meant by that. So please be noted that I do not like UPS just for the reason that I do know the truth.

Peace, Upser.

I would like to make a formal complaint regarding a package that I needed to be delivered today. This item is perishable. I have been at home all morning. My children and I sit down for lunch at 11 am most days. Today was one of those days. So you can imagine our surprise when I was about to do dishes when I noticed the card from UPS. It stated the driver attempted to deliver at 11:08. We never heard a thing. Neither did our dog, who hears everything. I phoned customer services who then passed my details to the depot. The depot phoned back promptly and said the driver had knocked on the door..not rang the door bell. Again I stated we were having lunch and unless his knock was very light we heard nothing..nor did the dog. He said the driver may or may not be able to redeliver... I advised him of the perishable nature of the package and stated it had to be delivered today. He said there was nothing he can do. Well I am not happy with that. A company pays you for a service, I wait around all morning for it to be delivered to then be passed off as your staff have more important issues... This package has to be delivered today.

I arranged for a parcel to be collected from my In laws and delivered through UPS "express" service. The delivery driver was not only rude to my Mother-in-law he left her with no paperwork.

Now the parcel has failed to turn up and I can't track the parcel as the only place that has the tracking number is the paperwork they never gave to my mother-in-law. To make matters worse they have no way of looking up tracking number, even though I know the pickup and delivery addresses as well as the times for both.

They have taken my money, failed to deliver on or even near the time slot and they can't even tell me where it is!

The only answer I get is that their systems can not track items by anything other than the tracking number!

Completely and utterly useless.

I had bought the most beautiul christmas gift or a family member and decided to rely on UPS to have it delivered next day "guarenteed".
I rang up to order directly with a human being instead of on the webiste. The girl I spoke to was difficult to understand and I had to repeat myself constantly. When I asked if my delivery was "guarenteed" to be delivered on Christmas Eve, I was told - in broken english - that the deliveries were getting through without delay in my area (there had been some snow 5 days earlier).
Imagine my suprise when the package was NOT delivered. I called the tracking department where I was told that the call centre was closing and they could not help me. I was then hung up on.
I now cannot talk to anyone at UPS until Wednesday. There is NO complaints system on thier website and I will never use this ridiculous excuse for a delivery service again.
The stress and anger caused by UPS was nothing compared to the fact that my elderly mother had nothing to open on Christmas day, Thanks a lot UPS.

The Shedule delivery did not take place seemingly because of adverse weather however their Depot is only 3.5 miles from my house and all the roads have been cleared. I have not been advised of a revised delivery date. Their customer service is extremely poor and frustrating. I have lost confidence in their ability to deliver within the agreed times and will never use this service again or buy products from suppliers who use them as a courier.

The worst part about their service is the lack of communication. Through tracking I was told my package was on a van ready to be delivered two days in a row and it never turned up. I got an email at 5:30pm saying it wasn't being delivered due to hazardous weather conditions even though I drive past their depot on my way home and all rival companies eg DHL, FedEx are delivering literally 4 doors down.

They have no option for a delivery slot so you have to take a whole day from 9-7pm off to receive the package and in my case didn't deliver two days in a row. Their customer services are poor as they know nothing more than what is on the tracking page and can't/won't contact local branches.

Will NEVER use again if I can help it.

UPS was supposed to deliver by 7th December 2010. Waited in three days, but there was no delivery by 8th December. Had to go out on 9th for two and a half hours during which time they attempted to deliver. In these days of easy electronic communication why can't UPS inform their customers of approximate delivery times so they can arrange to be at home?

UPS have no apparent concern for their customer's circumstances. It is as though it is now my fault for going out and I have to chase it all up. At the end of the day they are being paid to deliver the goods to their customer, not just call at their address.

In addition, I should not be the one to chase this up since UPS didn't advise me of the changed delivery date.

The company seems to think they simply have to call at the delivery address and not worry about actually delivering to the customer. UPS get paid for delivery to a customer and should make a much better attempt to achieve this.

UPS is a union style company that pays its employees well. Unfortunately, none of them deserve it because the service truly blows. One recent delivery experience I had was to have my package left down stairs by the mail boxes in the carport area of My 8 unit APT complex; unsigned for. I live upstairs in APT 4. Apparently the driver could'nt be bothered delivering the package to My door. Often times they never even knock or seek a signature, just dropping off a delivery somewhere outside for anyone to nab. Once I had a package delivered 5 miles away to the wrong address. Most recently, I had to return my laptop for warranty work, and the manufacturer sent me a shipping box UPS. Although they dont deliver on wk ends, including the usual turn around it should have been sent back out in 3 to 5 days. However, the first day the empty box arrived at the last minute around 7pm I had finally gone out to take care of some things so the driver did not leave the box for lack of a signature for an empty box. Day 2, same late day delivery after 6p so that I had no time to pack and return it to the depot. Effectively taking 3 days for what should have been a one day turn around. Having sent it 2 day air, it is now in the sixth day of delivery including dormant weekends and should arrive at the mfg with just a 10 day window before the work order was to expire. Thats 12 days just to get it back to the repair center if the work order is not already expired. Never mind the likely 6 day return window after repairs. Not including repair time, something like 18 days to 3 wks to get My pc back. Outrageous no doubt and I'm not even sure the order will not expire before the work gets done. No wonder people hate UPS delivery service. Your all probably cursing whenever you see those UPS commercials on TV.

The UPS Driver was to return the undelivered Iphone 4 on 2/7/11 back to the UPS location for pick up by the receipent. He failed to do so and when I went to pick it up the next day, I was told that the package was "damaged". It was confirmed on Wedneday, 2/9/11 by way of My Verizon Acct. that the phone was activated! UPS and Verizon are still trying to figure this out. Investigating the issue. I the customer is still waiting for my phone! I don't understand why either of these large companies cannot figure out how to satisfy me the customer!

If enough disgruntled customers inform merchants whom they deal with that their not going to continue dealing with any of them who use UPS to deliver products and services by boycotting UPS then this should have a satisfactory effect on the UPS disposition of being unanswerable to complaints about their poor service. It seems the only way to affect their attitude is to affect their bottom line, which is a proven technique every time. If UPS starts losing big accounts with their merchants then they may start listening to complaints from individual customers who deal with those merchants.

UPS are bums. I had an object insured for $6K and they refused to pay after it was delivered broken. It was double boxed. They hired a big time law firm but settled out of court for $1500.00. I will never ship UPS again!

Ok, I should say I will never use ups again.
I brought two boxes to the local UPS store, and the staff there told me he will send them together because they are going to the same address. Here is what happened. One of the boxes was lost in the shipment, after I found the staff, he said he used tape to bind them together and I am just one of those unlucky customers that get things lost. It worth 295 usd for that item and they will just reimburse 100+shipping, because I didn't ask for extra insurance, which I didn't know about and he definitely didn't ask whether we need that.
And even more, during our 6 minutes conversation about how to solve the problem, the staff there ask us to leave the store otherwise he will call the police. God...we are polite and didn't say anything bad, but he wants us out, that's how they treat their customers.
I thought we are the ones should call the police not them.

Best,

I have a friend that shipped a desktop computer to me from LA to Indiana and you could tell the box has been opened prior to getting here and was a little beat up, I made the repairs to the computer and sent it back to her 4 days later.
UPS boxed it up with one of there boxes in the first place

The day she got it back the box was wet like it was sitting out in the rain for hours and one side of the box was destroyed and looked like it had boot prints on it.
The computer was wrapped in bubblewrap and the box was filled with the popcorn filler and when opened one side of the computer tower was crushed in.
Not to mention it was NOT left at the door it was left out in her front yard from the driver just 10 feet from the street, she went out side to yell at the driver and he just got backed in his truck like he did not hear her and floorboarded the truck.
Dear Customer,

Were a reputable company (5 - 7 days delivery) After a week a woman phoned me from UPS & left a message on my voicemail saying that she needed some documentation from me before she could release my package. So I phoned back to see what she needed. After holding for 10mins I was told she was busy. I called again and was told again that she was busy. I left my number but nobody called. The next day I called her and left another message. Eventually I said I would hold until she was available. At last she answered and I was told of what I needed to supply via fax. I sent it immediately but given that UPS only has one fax line, I waited 3 hours before it went through. I phoned the next day asking if they had received my fax. Again I was put on hold and cut off 3 times! After my fifth call I got hold of this woman. She had not received my fax. So I said I would send it by email. Once I sent it, I called for confirmation and again phoned over 5 times before getting hold of her. They now have the documentation. It's been 13 days since I ordered this package and I fear I will never receive it. Next time I'll use FEDEX!

I'm an online retailer selling large screen TVs. This is very different from many other smaller size products because we have to constantly deal with damaged packages, oversize, lost & stolen...A UPS guy came to my office to introduce himself and try to build a relationship at the time to lure us from FedEx. After a while, we came on board and start using UPS.

We started to have horrible complaints from our customers. The package got damaged and our rate of successful dispute is zero. We have so many damaged packages and we never get anything resolved with UPS. They handle the claim to another company. We had to fight so hard without any result. So I've lost thousands of dollars just because they damage my packages so badly and don't even want to stand up for it.

However, that's not the biggest problem. The biggest problem is the oversize charge. The limit for oversize charge is 130 inches for length + girth. Many of our packages are right around 125-127 inches, meaning that we don't get over size. However, when it gets to UPS, the packages are almost always oversize. The same TV got measured with so many different measurements and all of them were wrong. I got charged $50 for every oversize package. This accumulates to tens of thousands of $. I told my account managers and he promised to resolve it but it never got resolved for months. He even brought his manager, who said that with his power, he could only refund $500! What! So I did not pay for those invoices that I got overcharged. And the late fees start to apply. Every invoice I have to pay $500-$800 in late fees. And that is weekly. I could have made tens of thousands of dollars but all of that money went to UPS. They are not only horrible but inhumane, ripping off small business like me.

I then switched back to FedEx and we've been shipping with them for a month now. Things are better than I expected. No damage packages, no lost or stolen so far, no unreasonable oversize charge. Just really really great experience. I don't understand why UPS is still around. I remember 10 years ago, I shipped a computer out to a customer. That was when I first started the online e-commerce adventure. I went to UPS and the fat lady told me it would cost almost $40 while at FedEx, it's only around $25. I swear that I never use UPS again not only because they're more expensive but the service was horrible. Now I paying for breaking my own rule 10 years ago. But I can safely say that UPS will never ever ever get my business. This kind of company should be bankrupt!

Sorry for calling a woman "fat"! I was just really mad at the point of writing.
Anyway, for the size, I know that the manufacturer is intentionally making it so that it does not become oversize. They know that it is a big factor for retailers like Amazon who will have to eat the oversize cost and make the deal unattractive. The account manager actually came to my office to measure the size a few times and he promised he'll take care of it, which apparently just talking. To cope with this crazy oversize charges, I had to cut down the box so that the dimension is around 121 to 123 but they still got charged oversize! How could that be possible?!
The box that manufacturer uses is much sturdier than the ones selling out there. Not only double wall 275lbs test but also has print and a layer of nylon mask to make it much stronger. Yet, UPS find a way to break it.

What are the exact dimensions and weight of this oversize item? You have to round it out to the next highest inch and pound when measuring. If you are cutting down the boxes to make them smaller, you are removing protection for the item inside. That might explain why so much breakage.
UPS bills by Actual Weight, Dimensional Weight, or Billable Weight depending on what and how you are shipping.

UPS does not stand behind their published rate schedule.
I got the price for a package from their website and went down to my local authorized shipper, The Albany Box Company, in Albany OR. The published cost was $5.17 and I was charged $10.45, over double. When I complained to UPS they said they could not discuss the price since someone else had paid for it. Well Duh. Obviously, as happens at all authorized shipping locations I did not pay UPS directly, but I did pay for the shipping. I have a receipt and tracking number to prove it. It is just a way for UPS to avoid taking responsibility for what they publish on their web site.

Don't trust the prices on their site, authorized UPS shippers can and do charge double..

For the third time, I have gotten "exceptional" service from UPS. A couple of years ago I paid extra for 2nd day delivery and the package came all the way to their distribution center, 10 miles from my home, but on the day it was to be delivered, I checked the tracking, and it had experienced an "exception." I called and they said that weather would not allow the package to be delivered when promised. I was actually told that my package was at the delivery center near my house on the day before it was to be delivered, but it was behind the center in a trailer and that it was snowing too hard for anyone to walk out and get the packages from the trailer and bring them into the delivery center. And it wasn't snowing at all, hadn't snowed for over 12 hours. There was less than 3 inches of snow on the ground from a previous snow. Then a couple of months ago, I was expecting delivery of a package and it also experienced an "exception." This time I was told that the train it was on had derailed. I thought, "Huh, that's weird." The next day at the elementary school that I work at I mentioned this and two other employees said they had had UPS tell them the same thing, one the month before and the other about four months before. That's a lot of train derailments! Now today I check the tracking for a package coming from the East Coast to my home in Oregon. It was travelling at UPS's usual breakneck speed. Took about five days to get from Penn. to Oregon. Last night tracking showed that it had finally arrived in Oregon but wasn't going to be delivered until Monday. Then this morning tracking says that my package might not make it on schedule because of "adverse weather conditions." It was cloudy, 62 degrees with no precipation of any sort. I called and asked what they heck was going on and was told first that the package was being held up due to weather in Penn. But tracking showed that it had left that state five days ago! He said, "No, it's still in Penn." I said tracking had shown it arriving in OR the night before. Then he changed and said that actually it was in North Dakota and was held up because of flooding on the tracks! It's like they have a list of made up excuses on the wall of their cubicules and just go down the list. UPS is a joke.

I ORDERED 2 PAIRS OF SHOES FROM ALDO FOR MORE THAN 50% OFF WHICH UPS WAS SUPPOSED TO DELIVER. LONG BEHOLD, THEY GO AND DELIVER IT SOMEWHERE ELSE AND NOW THERE IS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION WITH NO SHOES IN SIGHT. I HAVE A WEDDING TO GO TO TOMORROW AND HAVE NO SHOES TO WEAR. It REALLY shouldn't be that hard. Now they are looking to refund me, but those shoes don't even exist in their inventory any longer! WHY ARE THEY SUCH IDIOTS? They need to hire more competent and literate people. UPS: FIND MY SHOES DANGIT!

UPS is clearly not customer friendly. I encourage to you use another delivery service. I recently paid to have a gift sent 2 day UPS. We this delivery, I was guaranteed to have the item even a couple of days in advance. The first day they tried to deliver, no one was home to sign, but a notice was left. According to the notice someone, it looked like the driver checked that someone would have to be home to sign for in person. I was unsure, so went to their website. The website indicated a signature was required, but did not indicate that a person would have to be present. Needless, I had someone here in the designated timeframe. UPS did not show up. I could not wait any longer, so I signed the notice and attached a handwritten note indicating that I really needed this gift for the weekend and signed the note. Of course, the driver came 1 hour and 20 minutes late. He would not accept my note. When I called customer service, they offered nothing! I finally asked how they would compensate me for the 2 day UPS delivery and told to take it up with the seller! Then, when I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was put on hold so long, I finally hung up. They had my telephone number, but I knew that they would not even bother to call. THIS COMPANY IS CLEARLY CUSTOMER 'NO' SERVICE. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

My package wound up in Alberta instead of Ontario, wrong postal code shippers end,
My item was shipped on the 16 of May, and was told 2 to 4 days for delivery with UPS
Standard shipping... so much for that. (we only look at the postal code according to
customer reps) address on label clearly says "Hamilton Ontario" which one glance at
would of showed them it was going in the wrong direction. Notified UPS of this on May
28, when I see this on the tracking website and again on May 30 because it hadn't
moved since the first time I talked to them because they say where it wound up the
the street did not exsist, yet, on the website it says delivered, and signed for, very
interesting!

Talked to them today, (June 2nd) "just wait" is all i get for a response, should be able
to have it to me by the 6th of June. I was informed that they had no data indicating
I had placed a call previous to try and get this straightened out. They have charged me
$50.00 shipping on a $70.00 item and have no idea why it is still sitting there instead
of on its way here. But they DO KNOW, that IF AND WHEN they do get it here, they
will be wanting $35.00 more upon delivery.HMMMM DIDN'T FORGET TO TELL ME THAT
(Brokerage fees, item from states) A $50.00 dollar shipping fee is more then a little
high, for an item which weighs 4 lbs. when they can't get it where it should be on time.
I have ordered and had in my possession items from the U.S. much quicker just using
U.S.P.S. and considerably cheaper.

Jenny id# MNL4JPR (customer rep) and Alvin id# MNL6ALG (supervisor) are without
doubt two of the worst customer rep people I have ever dealt with, and the one question
I had, they have absolutely no reply too accept, be patient, we will work this out.
(Alvin tells me that they are located in Asia, do they even have a idea of how close this
item was to me originally?) I will make sure my customers, and people I deal with on a
daily basis know this.

Whatever happened to the customer is always right? I know that if most company's
ran there businesses as UPS does, they wouldn't be around long. I know what we do
when there is problems like this at our shop! We do everything we can to make it
right, many times eating some of the cost involved to keep a happy customer.

I will NEVER again use UPS and plan to submit my review of their performance to
every website I can think of. And UPS, if your company manages to survive, and not
go under providing this type of service, you's really should consider a name change,
perhaps...

I shipped an envelope to the ups store on route 1 dadeland - Miami Fl to my Student son. It arrived April 1 and my son was out of town. When he returned he went a picked it up the Store clerk charged him $80.00 to receive it. The envelope tracking shows from ups store #0837 were it should have been returned if the store didn't want to hold on to it. I know we are in a recession But be very careful of UPS. I have the tracking receipt and it does show a charge for holding an envelope at a Ups store. I want my money back for the outrageous charge.

I have grown tired of UPS' idea of delivery service. I live in an old appartment building and the directory listing is not kept up to date. The delivery person went through the directory and decided this was the wrong address (which was confirmed more than three times). Instead of the usual voicemail of where to pick it up (as Fedex or Canada Post would do) they decided to send my package back to the Seller. I made contact with UPS and they portrayed a very "too bad so sad" attitude. My package is now in a warehouse and they are going to call back to let me know if they will in fact send it to a pickup location. How hard is it to send a package to a pickup station? I am irritated with UPS and their very shady business practices. If you have a choice between UPS and anything else go with anythying else.

No UPS complaint here.

You live in an old appartment building and the directory listing is not kept up to date.

The delivery person went through the directory and decided this was the wrong address (which was confirmed more than three times), because the directory listing is not kept up to date. Three times UPS tried to deliver the package.

Three times you wasted their time.

How hard is it for you to write your address on a piece of tape and update the directory?

I ordered a package last week from UPS. I paid for two day shipping. I understand it not arriving over the weekend, but not arriving on Monday like it was supposed to set me back and has inconvinienced me. The package was a book worth nearly $50 that I need for my class. Now I won't be able to turn in an assignment because my professor doesn't accept late work, and it will affect my overall grade. And it's UPS' fault.

You cannot order books from UPS. UPS is a shipping company.

Your complaint is with the seller you bought the book from.

If you paid the seller for two day shipping, they probably did not take it to UPS last week.

Contact the place you bought the book from and demand the UPS TRACKING number. That number will tell you when they actually took the package to UPS.

Once again a package I paid extra to have delivered today (Friday) has been re-scheduled for Monday. There was a problem with the address label that was supposedly the reason for the re-scheduling, but when I talked to their customer service dept. at 7:30 a.m. the problem was fixed. So why can't they deliver my package today - it's not that far from Laurel, MD to my home in NVA and is absolutely feasible to have it delivered today. But, NO! Because UPS is run by and employs THE most incompetent, inept ###s on the planet - you know, the people the DMV refused to hire - I get screwed yet again. A great company would have made an exception and delivered the package today or tomorrow at the latest, but not good old unreliable UPS - nope, Monday is the best they can do And as my package is still listed as having a missing or illegible address label and no re-scheduled delivery date, I'm not going to hold my breath that it's going to be delivered Monday or ever. UPS has this nasty little habit of losing my packages too. I've had it with UPS and their crappy service! If I can't find something in a bricks and mortar store then I'll do without it rather than having to put up with UPS's crappy, incompetent, inept delivery service and employees.

Blame the person who addressed the label.

I am so fed up with UPS. There is always something going wrong when they try to deliver a package to me. Just recently, I ordered something and UPS was in charge of delivering. The package was marked a refused for delivery and to be sent back to the sender. How on earth this happened when I wasn't home all day to receive the package is beyond me. Yes, I live in an apartment building, and yes my neighbor may have went to the door, but for pete's sake, does the driver not know how to confirm if the person at the door is actually the person listed on the package? Such incompetence. So I call UPS the night of, and a CSR tells me that she will send notes to the DC and they will get back to me in the morning and that the package was only marked for return, but not actually going anywhere. GUESS WHAT? Wake up the next morning before the scheduled time for the DC to call me and the package progress says the package was already back in another state, on a truck, being delivered back to the sender. Called customer service again and this time the rep tells me that the rep from the previous night should not have made any promises to me. Really? You won't try to fix a problem that occurred because of YOUR mistake? Proceeds to tell me my only options are to wait for the DC to call me and see if they can make arrangements with the sender to get that package re-sent to me. The manager from the DC calls me and apologizes and tells me that because its already back in another state, on a truck for delivery, there's nothing he can do and that I would have to discuss my options with the sender. Absolutely ridiculous. At the very least, he promised me that he would get this to the field support team to make sure the sender was credited back for the shipment and that he would get someone to review the route and discuss with the driver regarding what happened. I'm just glad that the website where I ordered my package from was very courteous and understanding and immediately shipped me out another package, free of charge.

I am so fed up with UPS. I can't comprehend why they cannot get a package delivered properly to the right person at the right address. And its ridiculous that sometimes I don't get my packages until 6 or 7 pm. Never have I had this problem with FedEx, who always manages to get my packages to me on time, if not a day early. And FedEx always checks that the person who comes to the door is the person on the package. I wish all the companies I do business with could just switch over to FedEx or the USPS.

I went to the ups store to send a parcel to Texas. They said that it would cost $35.31CN for a six day delivery. So i sent it. I tracked the package online and was confused when the parcel was refused at its destination because of brokerage fees. The parcel was being sent to a repair facility so they don't accept deliveries with charges. I was not told of any more fees. That's why i sent it that way. I was upset to find out that i have to spend another $33.75US to get my parcel to its final destination. My price to send this parcel has now almost doubled. I think it is unfair for ups to take my parcel and not inform me of other charges and then hold my parcel hostage until i pay more money. If i knew it would have cost so much i would have shopped around for a better deal. I called every one form the store, brokerage department, customer service and customer complaint only to be given the runaround. It has been two days now of yelling and hour of complaining and still no answer. So now I have paid a total of $69.06 US & CN for a parcel that missed its six day delivery service. I will never use ups again.

I'm not surprised by this post! I will beg companies I order items from to ship any method other than UPS. Strapping the package to the back of a cow and giving it a shove in the general direction seems like a better alternative at times. I have had UPS agents lie TWICE about attempting to deliver or delivering packages to my home. I have talked to UPS customer service reps on the phone that are just plain stupid. The fact that their employees are mistreated doesn't surprise me -- this is the kind of service you get when your employees are unhappy. I have no doubt that there are those that do their jobs with integrity despite the poor working conditions, I just wish more of them worked in my area.

Shipped package addressed to a company with attention to a specific person. Accidentally gave wrong zip, off by one number. Package delivered to a different company at another zip code. After receiving a call that it wasnt delivered, I checked online to make sure it was delivered. It was signed for, but that is when I realized that the zip code was incorrect and the package had gone to a different town. I called UPS and was told " We/UPS does not ship to people, we ship to addresses! They put me on hold so that they could contact the company that signed for the package. The representative then gave me the company phone number and told me that I would have to contact them to try and retrieve my package. Keep in mind that the company that signed for and received my package, had had it in their possession for 4 weeks. They would not respond to my calls. So, I called UPS again and was told that I should drive back to my UPS location and fill out a form so that the UPS driver could attempt to retrieve my package, and I would need to pay a fee of $7.00's for this. I was told that the UPS driver would attempt to retrieve the package, but if the company wouldn't turn over, or deny having it..there is nothing they can do for me. When I began questioning the UPS rep about this, she disconnected the call. When I called back, the call was disconnected again. My husband's company has an account with UPS and ships packages weekly. They have just lost our business!

Why did you wait 4 weeks? You put the wrong zip, UPS delivered to the address you put. They charge to retrieve because it was YOUR mistake. Was the package insure? Over the standard minimum, I mean. File an insurance claim. But don't expect UPS to run around, make calls, etc. for free when the error was admittedly yours.

I found the usual note stuck at my door from UPS : "You were not home we will try another attempt before sending the package back" . What kind of service is this? most of us work at daytime. I went to the Customer Center and the clerk said like a machine "the package is with the driver" So what can I do? "Call Customer Service"(Again like a Machine). Hey wait a minute. The package isn't delivery for free can't UPS employess be trained to push a button on the computer and hold the package to be picke up by the customer? should the customer has to go through all this crap. There should be a better way.
