propane
Amerigas is a horrible company. Hiked my prices over a dollar per gallon over current local market price with no notice. When I tried to talk to someone about it I get sent to a snippy VA in the phillipenes, nice one AMERIgas. When I finally got to someone to talk about it they said they would file a ticket with billing and be back in touch. Well they got back in touch with nothing but a late fee. These people are criminals and I will never use them again.
Desired outcome: Rate adjustment to something which resembles market rate
AmeriGas
On Feb. 12th I ordered a propane delivery. They said it would take 7 to 10 days. On the 28th I still did not have propane and the tank ran out. I was afraid that my pipes would freeze but AmeriGas didn't seem to care. It is nearly impossible to talk to a live person on the phone and when you do, the English is so bad, you can barely understand them. They told me on multiple occasions that they would communicate with me to tell me about when the delivery would be made, but I never once heard back. They said the driver would call 2 hours before arriving but never called. It is the worst customer service experience I have ever had! I will no longer do business with this company.
Desired outcome: I would like a response, an explanation and an apology.
Propane
On February 22 2022, I spoke to a rep to pay my bill, my bill was paid and I was told I would have fuel within 24 hrs and the 300.00 service fee would be waved. The delivery did not happen and when we called we were told that they had no record of this. We then have gotten several text stating our fuel was scheduled for delivery, but to date 2/3/22, we have not received a delivery. Also our tank has a dent and our regulator valve has never been serviced or changed. Also the tank was set illegally on our neighbors property. He has made several complaints to us.
Desired outcome: We would like our tank swapped or sold to us at a very reduced price and we would like to have fuel.
Propane tank removal
Our builders used the Amerigas 500 gal propane tank while they build our house. In September of 2021 they asked the company to remove the tank. Now it is March of 2022! It is still here at the property. I have been calling them numerous times, every time i get the same answer - we will escalate your request. Nothing happens, it is absolutely despicable.
Propane tank purchase
I have spent 3 weeks trying to get a price to purchase the propane tank on our property. When we purchased the home it was not disclosed that the tank was leased. We learned when calling in to determine the current propane pricing. This was mid Feb 2022. We keep talking to different people, each one saying they do not make those decisions and they will get back to us. We have been told multiple ridiculous things: that WE need to get the prior owners to sign off changing the account over, that sometimes they sell the tanks and some times they don't, that we need to set up an account before anything can be done and also that they can use an old account attached to a prior home we owned. But no one can seem to come up with a price on the tank or definitively say it can or cannot be purchased. Meanwhile, we do not order gas...home is in Cookeville, TN and last discussion was today when we were told that they would "have to ask someone else." I thought I was being placed on hold while they did so, but they hung up on me. I do not have their contact info so will need to start over.
Desired outcome: PLEASE just tell us a reasonable price to purchase the tank and allow us to purchase gas from whomever we like. If this is how Amerigas treats its customers in TN, they could use some training.
customer service
after having trouble paying my $565 bill online, I tried a second time. Same result. So I tried a third time and was successful. Following day checking my bank account I discovered that indeed all 3 payments had gone through. Called customer service and was assured that after the payment cleared the other 2 payments would be reversed to my debit card. 5 days later, no money. Call customer service. Told this time that they are not equipped to refund to bank cards. Said they would have to mail a check, It is now 3 weeks later and the check is still waiting on a manager's approval. Of course you cannot talk to the manager. It is still "pending". I have called at least 5 times. There is no manager in the call center so they say. Wish the local service had never sold out.
Desired outcome: I would like my money. I am retired and on a fixed income. I have bills!!!
I feel for you. I'm having a different issue but still you can never seem to speak to anyone but the customer service people, whom most are hard to understand. I think they must be using an overseas call center. Good Luck to you
Service and billing
Your customer service and call center are the worst, so is your billing department. I changed propane companies because of your crappy service. I paid the bill in full and called a dozen times to get the tank picked-up, that took 4 months, I should charge Amerigas for storage fees, it's $100 a month, please send me a check. Mid last year, I got a bill from Amerigas, it took days to get through, and finally got a hold of a customer rep, who told me the account was paid in full, yesterday I received another bill for $177, please fix this.

I changed propane companies because Amerigas is the worst company I've ever done business with and my last delivery was an eye opener. When the driver got done filling my tank and handing me an invoice, he stated that every Amerigas customer is charged a Different price per gallon. He asked me if I knew who Drew Bledsoe is and I said yes. He's a local guy that lives in Whitefish Montana and pays less per gallon than I did, at the time. I told the driver he could get fired for telling me this, he said I don't give a crap, Amerigas is a lousy company to work for. I called the Public Service Commission in Montana, they had no idea Amerigas was Price Fixing for private customers. Unfortunately, they have no power over Prices and neither does Consumer Protection, which they should, it's in their name, CONSUMER PEROTECTION.
STAY AWAY FROM AMERIGAS, CHECK YOUR PRICE PER GALLON AND CHECK WTIH OTHER CUSTOMERS, SEE WHAT THEY PAY
Delivery issues
Amerigas has consistently not delivered propane to our unit as scheduled. We are set on a weekly rotation but yet every other week we never get delivery. We call and no one knows, they say they will schedule and be delivered between 24-48 hours and they don’t. You can never speak to a manager, and no one is able to actually resolve an issue. It’s mind blowing the company is still open. They don’t care about their customers in any shape or form. Good luck trying to get your issue resolved!
Desired outcome: Delivery when you say you will deliver!!!!
They let tank run completely out of gas in Vermont in February and took over 30 hours to refill!
Do not use this company! Horrible customer service! All calls are taken by people outside U.S. with very hard to understand accents! Plus, it was their fault my propane ran completely out and they waited over 30 hours before refilling the tank! They are too big and too callous!
On February 22nd my house in Vermont was getting colder even though I was running the furnace. I checked the Amerigas online tank gauge and it said tank was at 57%. I then called and had my furnace service come out to fix the furnace. They came and said nothing was wrong with furnace, that I was completely out of propane!
I called Amerigas twice on the 22nd. They informed me it might take up to 48 hours to get a refill! I said that was unacceptable. I always asked to speak to a supervisor and said it was an emergency but the representatives said no supervisor was available. The Amerigas number always connected me to a call center outside the U. S. and I could hardly understand them.
I spent all day yesterday on phone trying to see when the propane would be delivered as there was a winter storm warning for the next day and I did not want my pipes to freeze. No one gave me a window for when it would be delivered.
Finally, at 6 pm they delivered the propane, over 30 hours after I called them for an emergency propane delivery! Terrible company. I am canceling service.
Desired outcome: I would like them to pay for my service call to the furnace repair people and take out their tank for free, since it was their fault I ran out of propane!
Delivery Issue and customer service
On Feb 6th I went to my Amerigas account. I am a contract customer and saw a delivery was pending and a delivery order was created. I called that day to ask when the delivery was scheduled because there had just been a 16” snow fall and a pathway to the tank needed to be cleared since I was not at the house. I was told on the phone by your customer service person it was scheduled to be delivered on Feb 10th. By the 14th there was no delivery. I called again on the 14th and the woman told me it was scheduled for delivery on the 17th. Once again there was no delivery on the 17th. I called again on the 18th and spoke with “Jeff” who said it was scheduled for today (Feb 18th). When he asked if I was satisfied with his service today, I told him if the delivery comes today I will be satisfied. I told him I was not satisfied with the two previous people I spoke to. He “assured” me it would be there today. By around 6pm on the 18th there had been no delivery, so I called back. I spoke to guy on the phone who once again assured me it will be delivered by the end on day today. He said they deliver up until 8pm. I expressed my frustration with the customer service people and asked to speak with a supervisor. He did not put me through to one but instead insisted a supervisor would only be able to tell me the same thing he did. Very dissatisfied I said I’ll give it the 2 more hours. No delivery ever arrived on the 18th. I called once again on the morning of Feb 19th. The customer service person once again assured me the delivery is scheduled for today (Feb 19th) and that he could see I was the 13th stop on the list. Once again, no delivery on the 19th. I called back again on the morning of the 20th and found the offices are close because it is Sunday. So this is what brings us here today
Desired outcome: Deliver of gas and honesty by customer service
Immediate delivery. Apology. Compensation for 4 days of work lost.
Decided to purchase propane from Amerigas for the first time, as I own my own tank. Had 30% remaining when contacting them. They scheduled it on 2/11/22. I called in in the morning, to confirm the appointment. They did. So I stayed at home waiting for the propane truck. No one showed up. No one called. By that time, I have 12% left. After I called again in the evening, they told me it will come on Saturday, maybe Sunday, Monday is the latest. So I stayed at home on Monday. On Monday, they said Tuesday. On Tuesday, they said it will be delivered from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday. My propane level is at 7%.
Wednesday, no propane came. Again, no calls, no explanation.
Thursday, they say again it will be delivered "today". I hope so. Because my propane level now is about 5% - dangerously low.
And I lost Fri, Mon, Tue, Wed, and Thu, because I had to stay at home waiting for the Propane, and it is too late to sign up with anyone else.
Everytime I talk on the phone with representatives, they are super nice. And nothing they promised is ever done. Either every single person is a lyer, or this is the worst managed company.
What a horrible horrible mistake I made to sign up with Amerigas.
Overbilling for tank rental and service charges
I sold my vacation home in july 2022. I notified amerigas to cancel service. I continued to receive billing for service charges and tank rental. I have contacted customer service 5 times. Each time I was assured the account was closed and charges were cancelled. We recieved another past due bill for 246.93 the beginning of Feb. My wife called again and was told she needed to write a letter, which was sent on Feb 9th. We recieved no reply. I just recieved a notice from ARM collection services. I have had anything but a reasonable experiance with amerigas. Very unhappy with my customer experiance.
Desired outcome: I want the charges cancelled and no scars on my credit rating
This happened to me today. I paid my bill in full a few months ago and the tank fee came up and wham "hey you owe us late fees for something you paid off already!"
Amerigas autofill
I am on autofill. I live in cold winter Wyoming. I have a pending delivery scheduled 2/9/2022. My tank is already down to 30 % and I’m told my delivery won’t be until 2/19/2022! It is snowing and supposed to turn colder again. I understood they would only let my % get to 30% lowest. I use propane to heat and am afraid at this rate and with the possibility of the road being closed due to snow that I will run out of propane by 2/19/2022 and not be able to cook or heat my house. This is not good service! They should have known this storm was moving in and had plenty of time to make my delivery during clear road, good weather!
Desired outcome: I would like my tank filled today!
AmeriGas Propane Serivce
The worst experience I've had with a company. The previous owner of my home installed an AmeriGas leased underground tank. This was in year 2000 making the tank over 20+ years old. Since it is owned by the service provider, I am under their lease program. Moved into house in 2016 and it's been the worst customer service since. It began with back and forth exchanges asking them why they are filling my tank when it's not low and charging me. Their explanations didn't make sense. After calling them out, I switched from auto-delivery to will-call so I had more control over deliveries and could track their fill amounts and rates. Maybe coincidental, but they promptly came out to put a wireless meter on my tank as if saying "better not use another provider, or else." Not only are their rates routinely ~two dollars more than competitors, but my rates are significantly more when compared to neighbors in my town who use AmeriGas. They've also not made deliveries within their agreed upon windows causing my tank to go empty in freezing weather; it wasn't until I went on social media that they acted on this. They make it impossible without paying excessive amounts of money to move on from them. I was told a couple years ago I could purchase my tank for $716. They lured me in with a temporary low rate. Fast forward to now, they are now saying in order for me to purchase my tank it will be $3522. This screams unethical. Not only do they not work with their customers to achieve a good relationship, but they go out of their way to leverage the cold weather and empty tank to make it impossible for a customer to get a fair rate or even purchase their tank. Also have to note, according to their customer service, they recently went "corporate." Doubt it's coincidental that the price of my tank magically increased nearly $3k. All I'm asking is for AmeriGas to make this right. Either give me a fair price on rates or give me a legitimate, fair price for my tank.
Desired outcome: Fair rate or fair price of tank.
Unable to get a propane delivery
I am over a week late on my scheduled delivery. I have called numerous times and cannot get an answer as to when I will receive my delivery. Temperatures are below freezing, and I have to keep my heat just above freezing levels and avoid cooking at this point to avoid losing gas entirely and freezing out my pipes.
This company is horrible about handling customer complaints. I am looking into a class action lawsuit against Amerigas for utilities contracted and not provided.
Desired outcome: Deliver propane as promised.
propane delivery and propane feed to house
I contracted with Amerigas to provide propane gas to my house on 7007 riverside dr,powell ohio
They allowed the propane tank to go empty and it took me a week to get a refill in the dead of winter/ After they refilled tank they failed to contact me as promised so I could be there so they could restart gas outflow to house and check appliances/ It has been now 10 days that I have had no gas to house for heat or hot water and the pipes will freeze/ despite calling numerous times and being listed as an emergency they have yet to contact me and connect the gas out put to the house/
Because of this negligent and callous behavior It has now become neccesary for me to bring legal action against Amerigas for breach of contract, neglience, fraudulent representation, and punitive damages
The CEO should be fired ,worst service ever

Desired outcome: Immediate contact to set up immediate gas outflow to houseBob Bracco,Esq. [protected]
Propane delivery
Ordered propane to be delivered on 1/23/22. The delivery window was 1/24/22-1/31/22. On 2/1 I called and was told it was coming the next day on 2/2. I understand the world is short staffed and knew we would be okay, however they never showed. I have called every single day at least once if not twice since then and have been ensured every day by every person that I will be getting propane either that day or the next. However I have not gotten propane yet. I filed a complaint to speak with the local manager and they have not reached out to me. I was told my order was expedited and I would receive it within 24hours and obviously that is not the case. It is now 15 days past the order date and I will run out of propane any minute with two small children and temps at night in the 20s. We use propane to heat our home, cook and for hot water. I contacted them in regards to purchasing our tank so we could have it filled by someone else and was told they are not selling assets of that size (500 gallon tank) at this time because the value of the asset is too high to the company, when a year ago we spoke to them about it. So legally I cannot have anyone else fill the tank, I cannot buy the tank, and I cannot even get them to fill the tank.
Desired outcome: For them to fill the tank asap.
Delivery
We receive automatic delivery per our signed contract. My account stated delivery was scheduled for Jan 27, 2022. On that date, I checked my tank % and it was at 25%. Per AmeriGas website, I called and reported below the 40% that they state as the threshold for reporting low tank amount. On Wed, Feb 2, 2022, I still had not received delivery and my tank dropped to 17%. I called and was told the order would be expedited with delivery guaranteed on Feb 4, 2022, by the end of the business day. We have had snow and subzero temperatures. No delivery came Friday, so by early afternoon, I called to check on the status. I was told that I should expect delivery on Monday (Feb 7, 2022) and that I would not receive propane on Friday.
I argued the point of my appliances, furnace, etc are all using propane and I was told "Just don't turn your heat to 80 degrees over the weekend and you'll be fine". Not helpful with a disabled husband and a visiting baby.
Today, Feb 7, 2022, I was told no delivery (tank is at 11%) but I SHOULD (not a confirmation) get propane by tomorrow. That shortage of personnel, storms, etc have impacted the delivery system. However, I paid extra for automatic delivery. I am not a "will call" customer. Today would be within their 10-day window of the delivery date of Jan 27, 2022. I was told today I would get propane. I feel they're not owning up to their end of the contract.
Desired outcome: I want propane delivery today. It's contract-based and they will be violating their own standards if I don't receive my delivery today.
Unable to get gas delivered to elderly mom.
My 80 year old mom lives in Richfield, NC and was set up on a monthly delivery with Amerigas. Her scheduled date as per her online account was on Jan 24, 2022. On Jan 31, 2022 she ran out of gas and I contacted the company who lied and said she was scheduled for Thurs Feb 3. Her last delivery was on Dec 31, 2021. I explained that she was out of gas and i requested a delivery sooner since heat, appliances and hot water heater was run by the propane gas. When i called on Wed Feb 2 to verify her Feb 3rd delivery, they told me that she would receive it on Sat Feb 5, 2022. When they didnt show up on Sat Feb 5, I called again and i was told that she would receive it on the following Tues Feb 8. I asked to speak with the supervisor and was put on hold and they never got a supervisor on the phone after 19 minutes on hold. I called back and spoke with someone else who could not give me and explanation as to why they kept delaying the delivery to an elderly widow out of gas.
Desired outcome: I want the CEO and the world to know what kind of company Amerigas is running.
Propane
We have been using your company for over 20 years. Our business uses your propane for our business. We are suppose to get delivery every Friday. This has not been happening. When I call I get the run around. I lost over $5,000.00 just in sales yesterday because of this. 02/03/2022 I don't know what the solution is but I feel your company owes me the money that was lost and the number of times I called every hour on the hour trying to get a resolution to this problem.
I would appreciate an answer back resolving this problem. The Company is Cart Inc. dba Crepes Ala Cart 307 S Main Street Breckenridge, CO 80424. Phone No [protected] my cell is [protected] my name is Faye Reynolds.
Desired outcome: Reimbursement of sales as this is not the first time this has happened and a promise of future good service.
