Hotel reservation
Had to cut our vacation short for personal reasons. I understand your policy is to not return any money, but I feel it is not fair to return the money that was not used that was over $450.00. Times are tough and circumstances happen.
Getaroom.com is a rip off and don't consider that life happens to people.
I would appreciate a full refund for the 2 days that we were not able to spend on our vacation.
Date of incident - June 23 & 24, 2022 (left 2 days early)

Take credit card info before choosing room. Th.en you are locked in
April 23,2022 I was looking to book motels for my 1 week stay in Ormond Beach Fl. trying to find the best deal as always. I was on Priceline looking for a motel close to my son’s house and decided on the Hampton Inn Daytona/Ormond Beach. As you know when you are on Priceline, they give you several prices and with several different agents (expedia, trip advisory etc.) I never saw the agent Get a Room until they were through charging me. When I decided on a room rate, I clicked on it and right away they wanted my credit card info. I thought this was strange because you usually select room and know how much it will cost including taxes and fee. Then you can decide if you want to purchase. But when I clicked on submit after entering my credit card info the deal was done. I looked at the amount and it was $151.79 per night, and I assume this was including tax and fee. But no, I was wrong they added on $495.07 to make a total of $1404.02. I was upset because I lost control somewhere during this time and was hooked in before I even decided if I wanted the room. I called the phone number to cancel but they told me it was non-refundable. But I told the man I didn’t realize I was finalizing my reservation with a click of submit after my credit card info was added. He said he was sorry and for me to call the motel to see if they will refund me. I called Hampton Inn, but they didn't even have my reservation yet. So, I called the customer service # again to cancel my reservation and get a refund. They canceled my reservation and he said he could me $100 back. I of course tried to tell him I thought this was unfair the way they do business. I have booked several hotels in my lifetime and never had any trouble. He asked if I read the cancellation policy, and he told me again he was sorry. I hung up and felt defeated. Now my room is canceled, and I still have to pay $1404. They get your credit card info and from there they have your money. no where on the receipt does it say Getaroom. It says on your credit card statement it will show up as "cci*hotel res". I feel defeated and broke. Grace

Misled to make a hotel reservation through Getaroom.com
I thought I was reserving my hotel room through the hotel's website, but it turned out to be this third party. I also never noticed the cancellation policy said no refunds. I thought the taxes and fees seemed high, and I should have known this was a scam. I always book directly with hotels because I've been burned by these 3rd party vendors before. When I did go to the actual hotel website - after it was too late to cancel the one through getaroom, the room price was much cheaper. I feel like I've been intentionally misled and completely ripped off.
Desired outcome: Please refund and change your shady business practices.

Just finished our stay at a Hampton inn in mpls mn and went to get the receipt for our room. They told us we booked through Priceline and would have to get it from them. I contacted Priceline and they said the booking was through getaroom. I had never heard of getaroom so I don’t know whose company they were posing as when I searched and booked my room. After finally getting a number I called getaroom and was able to get them to email a receipt. There was a very high extra charge for taxes and fees that they “may need to pay the hotel”. I had no idea I was using this company and I am certainly going to dispute this charge with my credit card company.
Be very careful booking your travels and I would recommend calling the hotel directly. Websites cannot be trusted.

Complaint
On June 28, 2022, I attempted to reserve a room at the Hampton Inn, Alajauela Costa Rica for ONE NIGHT and after typing in information to check for a room somehow strangely got linked to Getaroom.com. Here were the problems I experienced:
1. There was NO indication Getaroom.com is a third party booking agent and this company POSED as if they were direct agents of Hampton Inn;
2. The booking for one night was increased to two nights by Getaroom.com despite the fact I have and tried later to explain to someone in their customer service that I would not have possibly booked for 2 nights because I had a CONFIRMED 6 am flight the next day (June 29, 2022);
3. Getaroom.com advertises that it will get you the best price on a room guaranteed then without authorization charged my debit card for an extra day which I did not authorize and in addition included over one hundred dollars in unauthorized miscellaneous fees.
Total charged to my debit card was $408.45, $262.93 apparently for the 2 day stay which I never used and another $145.52 for some BOGUS U.S. tax recovery charge.
Further, when I explained the unauthorized charges to their agent in customer service and talked to a woman with an Indian sounding accent who identified herself as MARA (PROBABLY FROM SOME CALL CENTER, IN INDIA), not only was she useless in offering any reasonable resolution, she also repeatedly informed me on an an at least 45 minute International long distance phone call that there was no management available in her company who I could speak to.
Despite the fact that Hampton Inn, Alajuela Costa Rica Management making it clear they had NO PROBLEM cancelling the respervation with no penalties to me which Getaroom.com booked without my authorization, Mara refused to process a refund or issue a credit.
I ultimately directly booked with Hampton Inn Alajuela Costa Rica, used a different debit card and received a rate of $149.16 all taxes included, SO GET AROOM.com EVEN OBVIOUSLY LIED IN THEIR ADVERTISING ABOUT GETTING CONSUMERS THE BEST RATES.
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!
I WILL BE REPORTING THE UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES ON MY ACCOUNT AS THE FRAUD IT WAS TO MY BANK, AND IF THESE SCAMMERS DON'T COUGH UP AND REFUND MY MONEY IN FULL, I WILL BE WRITING THE MANAGEMENT OF AS MANY MAJOR HOTEL CHAINS AS POSSIBLE AND PROVIDING THEM THE PLETHORA OF NEGATIVE REVIEWS THIS SCAM COMPANY HAS RECEIVED SO THEY WILL RECONSIDER HAVING THEIR BUSINESSES ASSOSCIATED WITH THESE APPARENT CON ARTIST.

Credit card charge after obtaining a cancellation
On 5/26/2022, I made a reservation for a room at the Hampton Inn in Orange Park, FL. for [protected]. My reservation number was R3473022745. The website made it appear that I was dealing with the hotel direct. When I contacted the hotel re: cancelling I was told it was made through getaroom and would need to contact them for cancelling. I did and got a cancellation (C3473022745) on 6/8/2022. My credit card was still charged. Apparently just because you cancel and get a cancellation approval, they still charge.
Desired outcome: Removal of charge from my credit card.

Reservation
Reservation was being made in one city and cite booked it in another. 6/23/22 at appx 10:25 AM. Immediately saw the problem in e-mail confirmation and contacted hotel. Hotel cancelled, but said I had to contact Getaroom.com for refund. Took a bit, but refund will be processed. Took all of 5 minutes for funds to be withdrawn from my account and have been told it will be 3-5 business days for them to process refund. Obviously, company uses money for a few days. Poor business practice and shady web site - recommend avoiding use of this company. Not customer conscious or friendly at all. More policy in place to scam rather than to assist people with travel arrangements.
Desired outcome: Process refunds immediately. If you can take funds from an account in just a few minutes, no excuse for it to take 3-5 days to process a refund.

Taxes & service fees are almost as high as the room.
A room with a queen bed for 3 nights is $368.72. Taxes and service fees are $230.22, which I think is over-the-top. It says the taxes and service fees are explained below, but I'm not finding them. Don't know how much is taxes, how much is service fees? Then it says my reservation is non-refundable. I will never use this service again! Booking Ref. Number is [protected].

Reservation Changes
They have the most frustrating and disgusting practices. They are unprofessional, have no supervisors or managers to talk to and will not make ANY changes to your reservation, UNLESS YOU CANCEL AND THEN YOU WON'T GET YOUR MONEY BACK. My reservation is a month away and they can't change it?!? So shady, so frustrating. I didn't even know I was booking through them. The hotel directed me to their site and it was a huge mistake. BEWARE!

I booked a three night stay at LaQuinta in San Marcos, Texas. I thought I was booking directly with La Quinta. I did not know I was booking through a third party and even on my email confirmation, it never said Getaroom.com. I had to cancel this reservation due to unforeseen circumstances and asked for a refund and was told they could not issue one due to their terms and conditions. Their practices are very deceptive! I called to speak to a customer service representative. The first one stopped answering my questions and I could hear background noise and other customer service reps talking but no one was responding on the other end. The second time I called I was placed on hold for over 25 minutes and then was hung up on. I finally spoke to another rep on the 3rd attempt but was only told I agreed to terms and conditions. I want everyone to know how deceptive their practices are!

Booked hotel through your company on 6 May 2022 which showed price AUD553.54. When the booking came through an additional charge of AUD325.12 was charged to my credit card (total AUD878.66)
I immediately cancelled the booking on 6 May 2022 and booked same hotel and room through booking.com for AUD541.
I received an email from your company confirming cancellation. A month later I hadn't received a refund so I replied to the email [protected]@hotelvalues.com and received an undelivered mail reply.
On the original booking it states "free cancellation"
I have contacted my bank about this issue as it was charged to my credit card.

I made a booking with you for Saturday 4 June 2022 at the Holiday Inn Express Manchester Airport an IHG Hotel for 2 adults and 2 children with full payment taken at the time of booking. When we arrived at the hotel we were told the room had not been paid for and we had to make payment on arrival which we did.
It is now a week later and we have seen on our bank statements that you did indeed take the money from our account so we have now been charged twice for the room booking (once by you and once by the hotel directly), I therefore request a full refund from you for the monies taken that was not given to the hotel.

Reserve cancelled - Reimbursement not received
When booking a room at Hotel da Rocha (Portimão - Portugal) for 13 nights on April 7, 2022, there was no indication I was doing it through "get a room".
I received a mail from "[protected]@hotelvalues.com" on the same date confirming the reserve, when I was expecting it from booking.com.
In these circumstances, I contacted the Hotel to clarify the situation and was informed that the reserve had been made by booking.com.
Due to an unexpected health event, on April 11, 2022 I had to cancel the reserve made and got the agreement of the Hotel to do it with no charge.
After a number of phone and mail contacts with booking.com, I found out that this Company made the reservation following a request of "get a room"!
Then, I sent a mail on May 21 to "[protected]@getaroom.com" and received an acknowledgement from "[protected]@getaroom.com" - Ref [protected].
No further contact was received.
In the meantime, I have obtained the information from booking.com that they did reimburse "get a room".
All these facts may be documented if you so require.

It includes a number of lies and I am forced to spread the details of this situation amongst all my contacts to put them aware of your lowest credibility, unless you comply with your responsibilities in the few coming days.
I attach a mail from Hotel da Rocha confirming the waive of penalties, following a contact with their management. You are not in a position to contact the hotel, because you used booking.com to book the room at Hotel da Rocha. In fact, I was not aware of using your site and the hotel received the reservation from booking.com in my name.
You paid booking.com the amount of € 1 810 which was refunded in late April as per the information received from their customer service team (I have it in writing but keep it confidential for the time being). You paid/received €1.810,00 and charged my credit card by €2.417,58. You just added more than 33% and are trying to make a profit of some 2.4 thousand euro.
Getaroom is making a fraud and I am prepared to fight against it.
I look forward being reimbursed in the coming days.

Did not identify company when booking.
I tried to cancel my reservation within the deadline supposedly given. I was under the impression I was booking with Hilton Hotels and at no time was it indicated that this was a different company called Getaroom. I was even transferred to a Hiltons vacation plug after booking and the agent cancelled a previous Hilton property for me - which I’m now going to have to verify the truth of. Imagine my surprise when Hilton informed me that my reservation was with a different company and I needed to contact them. They had no number for me to call and I’ve had to track one down online leaving me past the cancel deadline. No person picks up and there is no option that leads to a live person. I would like a full refund for my reservation as this was never my intent to book through an unknown company and have no contact information given through a confirmation email - which was assumed to automatically happen when booking through Hilton since they have it on file. A confirmation would’ve or should’ve provided a number to be called to cancel. They even took my Hilton Rewards number supposedly to look my husband up (and confirmations are automatically emailed so I thought nothing of them not asking for an email address).
Desired outcome: I want a full refund for my trip and not a partial due to cancellation being late trying to find a way to contact Getaroom for a cancellation. They never identified themselves as not being Hilton reservations.
Resort reservations
On June 8, 2022 I went to the Tapatio Springs website to book two night over the Thanksgiving holiday to be with my wife's family, and it directed me to y'all. I booked for two nights and immediately saw that getaroom was over charging me by $157. I hit cancel, called the resorts front desk and booked. Now your company is charging my credit card nearly $500 for absolutely nothing. I have disputed the charges with my credit card company.
Desired outcome: please refund since it was your error. i cancelled in less than 5 minutes.

On Jan 27/22 I booked two rooms at the farfield inn on morris bridge road in tampa florida.reservation #R240049669. one for 3 nights and one for 4 nights. I was charged $20.00 a night above the hotel rates after taxes. I contacted the hotel and was told get aroom.com charged me $20 a night service fee which was supposed to be refunded to me. In total I was over charged $140.00

I made a reservation for a room at the HOLIDAY INN French Quarter New Orleans for 05/04 – 05/08 2022.
I called what I thought was the property “itself” not realizing that I had reached a third party who identified themselves as “CHATEAU LEMOYNE –
HOLIDAY INN – French Quarter.
After making the reservation with what I realized after the fact was GETAROOM.COM” for the following dates 05/04-05/08 I was alerted by my air
carrier that my return flight was overbooked, and we had to change our flights to return back to NY one day sooner (05/07/22). I called the reservation desk to tell them that I would need to check out
one day earlier and they told me that I could NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES at all to my reservation. I asked them to just rebook it please since I will just
waste a night. What they did was to cancel my reservation and then proceeded to tell me that they could NOT re – instate my original reservation
for the 4 nights. They did absolutely nothing but to tell me that I had lost my reservation as well as “any option to rebook”. They would NOT make any
attempt to “try” and rebook me and that I had lost my money that they charged on my American Express.
I find the actions and policies of both the “Hotel”, their third-party reservation desk and also their business policies very “suspicious” and set up
to misguide and trap unsuspecting patrons such as myself WITH NON REFUNDABLE TRANSACTIONS WHENEVER they possibly could, with their mischievous methods. I am currently held hostage for my $1,941.39 which they have no intention CREDITING WITH A FUTURE RESERVATION or even helping me with any options. Their booking agents “never” told me that if they tried to rebook me, I may lose my entire booking and money. I am a global marketer and I will make sure to use every possible means I have to SEO what happened to me with this company through the US and EUROPE. They may think they have gotten away with scamming so many people but they are so wrong.

Booked on getaroom when I wanted to book on the hotel website
I wanted to book a hotel in the Queen Anne hotel in San Francisco. I visited their website and made a booking in the pop-up window that opened when I clicked on 'book'.
The hotel has a cancellation policy where the refund you 100% if you cancel at least 48hours before arriving.
5 minutes after booking I saw I made a mistake and cancelled my booking, thinking this would be no problem.
Only one week later I saw on my Visa statement that the full amount was taken off, and not been refunded. I called the hotel, and much to my surprise they told me I booked through getaroom.com.
I had no idea and this was not what I wanted!
I then called getaroom, but they said my booking was non-refundable. And when I looked close (really close - very small print) in my confirmation email, I saw that that was stated.
But that was not what the hotel website said, and I wanted to book there!
The people on the helpline of getaroom do not want to listen to reason, they will not even cancel the cancellation.
Basically they lead you to their website under false pretenses, and let you book a room with terrible annulation conditions and then steal your money.
I am shocked that this happened.
Desired outcome: I want a full refund of the money they took from my VISA card. The hotel policy is full refund if you cancel more then 48hours in advance, and my reservation was not until july 19th!
