cake bought from bakery
Hello my name is Ashley I am writing you in regards to an incident that happened Sunday July 2nd.I have tried to contact Krogers corporate office with no luck maybe because of the holiday but I'm going to keep trying until I get some answers. My fiance did call the store we bought the cake from and the manager asked us if we would like a refund and that was all he offered to do so my fiance got very frustrated and hung up. Once you hear this situation I'm sure you'll understand why. Sunday July 2nd was my fiance's 27th birthday so of course we got him a birthday cake he works 80 hours a week for the Tennessee Department of Transportation and deserves something for his self on his birthday. As we all sit down to eat or cake I noticed my 1 year old is playing with his cake as toddlers do but as he's banging his cake on his plate and its making a very loud noise so as I'm going to him to see why, he's putting it in his mouth I stopped him and pick the cake up as my fiance says "bring that to me, what is that" so I take him the piece of cake and he pulls a nail out of it I do not know much about nails but he said it is a nail used for framing. I'm sure you can understand my concerns what if my child had ate this piece of cake with the nail in it what could have happened.I have all the documentation I need I have my receipt, I have the nail in a baggie, I have the piece of cake that the nail was pulled out of, I have pictures of the cake at the nail was pulled out of, You can see a hole in it.The reasoning for all of this is because my fiance would like to contact an attorney so I decided to have one last try contacting Krogers through this email this is my last hope I did not want to have to resort to contacting an attorney I just want some answers and maybe a piece of mind. His birthday was ruined we were very upset, And it's just not right to have to pull a nail out of your 1 year olds piece of cake and I hope somebody will contact me as soon as possible about the situation thank you. MY email is [protected]@gmail.com phone number is [protected]..Thank you for your time.
This is what I wrote to with no reply why came i get contact with anybody?
service
I left work at 6:30 p.m. and I only work 15 minutes from Kroger Independence, ky. When I picked up my order from clicklist I was overcharged $89 because an employee in clicklist had scanned my pork chops about 12 to 15 times. Then I had to wait for the manager to go and credit my check card which took another 15 minutes. Then I drove directly to Krogers in Latonia Kentucky and sat in line for 20 to 25 minutes with three cars in front of me trying to pick up my for prescriptions that were ready. I got so aggravated that I called and complained to the pharmacy and they told the pharmacist that I complained and then all of a sudden the cars started moving like they should be. I then called the manager at Kroger's Latonia and complained about the drive-thru which has been an ongoing problem since they opened. The manager that I spoke to told me the same thing that I have heard numerous times when I have called Kroger's Latonia Pharmacy about the problem with the drive-thru being way too slow. The problem is that they want to accommodate every customer that comes through and if there's a problem with the customers insurance or whatever I don't think the other people sitting in the cars behind them should have to wait while the problem is being fixed. The drive thru should be for picking up prescriptions and if theres a problem then the customer will have to go inside to sort it out. The manager told me they cannot ask a customer to come inside theres a problem but I've been told that before? Something needs to be done about this problem.
I was terminated by discrimination
Hello! My name is Kaitlyn dorr. I was just terminated from a Fred Meyer store in Burlington washington. I was selected to be the team lead for their Starbucks. Today I was pulled into the office and terminated with NO WARNING what so ever. I complied with the rules of the company and I was doing my best to learn regulations and specific management skills. I had briefly disclosed to them that I am disabled (I have multiple sclerosis) I feel as though they did not want to take the chance having a disabled person in a high position. They told me I was terminated because I got coffee from another store instead of theirs, someone told them I didn't seem happy enough and for a misunderstanding that was fixed. I had no control over these things, I had no idea I wasn't allowed to purchase coffee from a stand other than theirs, I had no idea that I was supposed to be fun and bubbly whilst I'm reading papers and obtaining a ton of information about management. I was not aware that I did any wrong. No one talked to me, no one warned me. I did not get a coaching and I did not get taken aside to see if things said about me were true. I was very excited and very committed to this company and I was ready to work very hard. From what I read about the policies and regulations, what they did was unjust and discriminatory.
Sounds like a complaint needs to be filed with the EEOC. It is against the law to discriminate against someone because of their disability. You sound like you have so many wonderful abilities. Kroger seems to turn a blind eye with some their managers who appear to be very uneducated as far as legalities goes. I mean you would think that a manager would be intelligent enough to know that it is against the law to discriminate. But, I am guessing it goes deeper than that, in that, these managers feel they can get by with this sort of thing. Shame on Kroger for allowing this to go on! Kroger needs a wake up call.
return
I bought a toaster in toledo ohio, this was prior to moving to the columbus area. I recently opened the toaster box (which the box appeared to be fine) however the toaster had a dent in it, close to the push down button, so the button would not stay down. i put the toaster back in the box and tried to return it to the store close to me (still in the state of ohio) I had no receipt, so I was not expecting any cash back. However the girl working the desk said it could not be returned because I bought it at another store, I asked to speak to a manager Trayce Prather (Groveport ohio store) they rang the toaster up and it came up 25.00 and some change but because I didnt buy it at his store he also refused to give me a store credit for the item. I call the 1-800 number am on the phone for 45 minutes while standing in line only to find out I cant even get a store credit, this incident took place yesterday 06/27/2017 in the evening hours. i have shopped at the kroger stores for the last 35 years, my husband and I were foster parents and also adopted 10 children we would spend thousands of dollars at our kroger stores to feed these kids. I have never returned items and asked for anything this was my very first time and no one in the kroger family would assist me to make a happy medium. I leave with a broken 25.00 toaster that was damaged somewhere along the way. a multi million dollar company would return a 25.00 toaster also, I searched everywhere at the customer service desk and there is nothing posted about returns. NO WHERE. The manager told me I had to take it back to the kroger I bought it from. so I guess I am suppose to drive 3 hours away to return a toaster. I am very upset after giving Kroger my business for 35 years
money not received from check out machine!!!
On 6/19/2017 at 930pm, i checked out & looked back to see if I left anything, i did not see any money sticking out of the machine! I spoke with the manager/Logan the next morning, later that day he left me a message that he reviewed the tape but it was not in a position to see machine #501 I used, there was nothing he could do! I'm very sure if I didn't pay for $20 worth of merchandise the security officer and employee standing in that area and the camera would have seen and stopped me! Please add a red light or tone to the machines so this won't happen to anyone else! I am a loyal Kroger shopper and usually get up to $100 cash, does this mean I would not have a more thorough investigation or would I have to make a police report! Hoping to receive a reply asap to this situation! Respectfully submitted, Mrs Janice Neal, 10290 Mill Rd 110, Cinti OH, [protected].

pie crusts
Kroger pie crusts [protected] 9
Purchased 6/21/2017. Best results 23jul17c21
I purchased the pie crust this morning to go home and quickly make a pie I need for today. I could have made my home made crust in the same amount of time from the time I tried to unroll the crust it was cracking and breaking, I took almost 20 minutes to soften and push the crust together and still when I baked it the crust on the edges broke off.
I used to shop at kroger while I lived in virginia and was pleased to see kroger brands in foodsco here in california, but I will never buy the product again I was really upset with it.
general mills cereal
I do not usually go shopping at night but I went today to get the $4/8 cereals that were on sale that you were supposed to get free milk if you bought 4. Tonight I went to Krogers in irving in MacArthur park a little before 9 and the lines were absolutely ridiculously long. AlI I had was 4 boxes of cereal and I had 2 $1 coupons for the cereal so it should have been 4/$6..( Krogers coupons had a coupon as well for $1 off 2. That I'm not even including) well my total rang up to $10 for the 4 boxes of cereal and the cashier didn't even know about the free milk I was supposed to get and one of the coupons wouldn't ring up. The cashier was not helpful at all, she just simply said, it's only ringing up one coupon and handed me the other one back. The lines were so long I wasn't going to hold up the line, as I was going to go to customer service at the store to talk to them about my purchase. I went to the customer service and low and behold, it was closed for the night. I am so frustrated with the customer service I received and the fact that I specifically went to the grocery store to get the weekly deal on cereal and my bill was much higher then it said on the circular. I can provide you with the reciept if you need more information! I understand that stores and cashiers are busy at times but busy or not, you should provide good customer service!
kroger cream of mushroom soup
I shop at the Smith's Food Store in Ft Mohave, AZ.
Recently bought two cans of this soup. When I opened them they were both a deep brownish color not the creamy color I'm used to seeing. The stamp on the bottom of the can reads: Best By 030119 /7A 03017 YS 01 13:37
The second can has the same stamp with a time stamp of 13:57
Since it doesn't have what I perceive as the right color I will not use it.
Thank for your time.

click list
Today I placed an order for clicklist at the Kroger in Fort Wayne IN off of Scott Rd. My pick up time was between 5-6. I arrived shortly after 5 and when I tried to call the number it said unavailable. A fellow customer had to explain that the power was out. I waited 20 minutes before anyone From Kroger's came to talk to me. When they did they were less the helpful just telling me I would need to pick my groceries up tomorrow due to a power outage. I asked why I was never called and notified since the power had been out for an hour and the employee had no reason as to why I wasn't contacted. I drove all the way over there left with no groceries and what seemed like an insincere apology. In know way was I offered any sort of compensation for my trouble just told to leave and come back tomorrow. I cancelled my order and left. I'm not happy with how this was handled
This is the usual "if I could give zero stars, I would" review. I tried to book a large click list order on both Internet Explorer and Google. First, if you ask for tuna fish, it shows you cat food, second, many items in the store are not available on click list, third, simply typing an item you want is extremely slow because there is a pause after each letter. Lastly, when you call and tell them that it took you an hour and fifteen minutes to place your order, but you could not check out, they offer no assistance. I told them I am a caregiver for both my sister and mother, and when I asked if I could place the order over the phone, I was told "no". This is so typical of Kroger. They admit no fault and refuse to help. I am just waiting for Meir's to add this feature and I will no longer have to use Kroger for anything.
deli
On Friday June 16 2017 went to the Newport Ky Kroger to pick up a order for 50pc Fried Chicken for a Funeral Repass, I placed earlier in the week more time than Kroger allow, the Lady took my order I stated to her can this be ready on Friday June 16 2017 at 6:pm she states "sure no problem"
When I arrive on Friday I waited 10min for help, as I waited I observe an associate digging in the garbage this same associate finally ame over and asked"what do you need" "instead of can I help you please" another associate who states her is name Karen (don't know if this is her real name no badge on)came over stated my order was picked up already I stated no I was the one who placed the order, Karen states he (first associate can throw you order in a box) I stated he has been digging in the garbage he already grab a clean box with the same gloves he was digging in the garbage with. I asked for the store Manager and he went to the Deli area, I was so disgusted and angry I left, a pre paid order Kroger associates need to asked for a ID
I observe only 1 associate in the Deli area who wore a hair net, not changing gloves after digging in the trash, no hand washing a Health Dept concern
the store manager!!
06/09/2017 I have been a fan of kroger since my kings soopers colorado days. I am not a vindictive person;however, some behaviors cross the line and must be addressed. The store manager of 8415 w markham st, little rock, ar. 72205 is ms. Thomas;her management style is more suited for russian gulag! She patrols the store micromanaging with a pseudo-smile facial projection. I noticed her subjects/employee drastic before and after encounters. Reminiscent of a master and slave plantation dynamic. I understand an investment in time to foster the highest degree of efficiency;I get that! I have had employees confide in me regarding her draconian helicopter supervision: machiavellian!
I refuse to return to that store because of the tone she superimposes;instead, I shop at the smaller rodney parham store where the atmosphere is less tense and welcoming. It is unfortunate that corporate culture has evolved to the point that ms. Thomas feels she must adopt the persona of prison guard in order to advance;my heat goes out to the inmates/employees under her yoke!
service
I have been to kroger in oxford Mississippi 5 or 6 times in the last 2 weeks. Everytime I go they treat me aweful. I had my coupons out ready to use. Im a family of 5 my husband lost his job so money is tight. Every time I go in there they treat me like a theif. One time I did 2 different transactions and was doing my second. I always tie up bags when picking things up for my mother. It makes it easier to keep seperated. The manager comes over and starts going through my bags I already paid for. I asked what she was doing she said thats her job. On my second transaction she refused my coupons. She was very rude. All my coupons match but she treated me like a theif. I didnt make a scene I just left. This week when I went in the lady at self checkout refused my coupons I asked why she said she didnt have to take them. I asked for a manager and she said the same thing. That they dont have to take them if they dont want to. I gave them the items back and finished checking out. They stood there the whole time watching me like I was stealing something. People were standing around hearing this. I am so humiliated I will NEVER step foot back in that kroger again. This is not the first time. I dont get food stamps so my coupons help me to feed my family. Like I said im still humiliated.
parking lot lighting
I just visited my local Kroger store. Kroger Super Center at 507 Foothills Plaza in Maryville, Tn. I am still very angry. There was not one light in the parking lot what so ever. I could barely see to get to my car. I also wandered if I might get mugged or kidnapped. I am all for saving money, but that is ridiculous. I would appreciate some lights. !
injury actual and potential
Your employees have stacked refills for toilet paper and paper towel on the narrow ledge of the changing station. I bumped the changing station and it fell on my head.
This happened 6/16/2017 @ 5:15 pm. It hurt. I guess my question is who thought this was a storage shelf? I took all of it and put it into the floor. And that is unclean.
All I ask is that you not do that. And admit that it was a bad decision.
I should have alerted management, but I decided to just go home.
Concerned,
Jennifer Simonds
prices
Are you kidding me with your prices? I also notice you have slowly got rid of "lower end items" in other words...affordable things and that pretty much forces you to buy the over priced stuff. Not me! I walked out. $8 for a can of lysol? Thats just one example. Your prices are NOT affordable. It seems you are pushing them up up up to see what you can get away with charging people. I tell everyone what my opinion is about your store. I know of many who no longer shop there :) The CEO must need some extra cash...sad...your store is sad
self checkout stations
I visit Kroger several times a week and 50 %of the time i use self check out .Just recently they have Ben talking to you announcing that you are a Kroger reward card holder and how much each item is and then your total. I hate this it seems like an invasion of your privacy. Telling everyone around you about you business .I think they should rethink the announcement s on the cash registers turn that talking off agfain
check out and bagging employees
I was at Delhi Kroger in Cincinnati, Ohio and checked out around 8:21 pm this evening. I shop at this Kroger 3-4 times a week and spend between $600 to $1, 000 a month in groceries from Kroger.
The cashier Judy wasn't friendly and ran the conveyor belt continuously so my bread and chips and other grocery items were smashing on top of each other. Normally, the cashiers set the bread and chips to the side so they don't get smashed.
In addition, the man bagging the groceries kept asking if we wanted another cart and only placed two to three items in a paper bag at a time, as well as placing the bread at the bottom of the bag an placing heavier groceries on top of it. In the end he quit bagging and went to be a cashier in another line.
After his exit, my daughter and I bagged most of the groceries and left the store.
These two really had no regard for the groceries I was purchasing. My bill totaled over $117 dollars. The leadership of this store is not doing their job in training cashiers or baggers. I'm not asking for much other than being respectful of the items purchased since groceries aren't cheap.
I will not return to this store and have to think twice about continuing as a Kroger customer.

customer service
When a store is open, cashiers should be in place. Instead we are forced to use self check out stations. A few items, no problem. When I spend 200.00 for groceries, self check out is ludicrous! Those stations have no space, machines are ticky and lock up, then finding someone to assist is next to impossible! We spend enough on groceries not to have to do everything ourself. This has happened to me 3 times in 2 weeks at Kroger on Western Center and Beach in Fort Worth. Albertsons is right across the street. They have cashiers and people to help get things to the car. It is looking very appealing. How many people need a job that can't get one because you are pushing self service?
deli services
On Sunday, June 11, 2017 between 255pm- 310pm I visited store 10375 Tara Blvd.
I went to the deli for fresh meat. I witnessed one of the deli clerks pushing a cart with meat ( with gloves on). She then went into a freezer or office ( with the same gloves) to put the meat up. She asked me my order ( hasn't changed gloves) then took the meat out of package to cut. She then asked me to hold in while she cleaned the cutter( same gloves), she sprayed it down, wiped it off with napkins, then proceeded to cut my meat ( still hasn't put on fresh gloves) I told her that's okay
That was unsanitary and I have never seen that done before in all my visits to Kroger. Now I know me not purchasing my deli meat here ever again will not hurt Kroger's bottom line but I truly hope better sanitary practices are put in place.
Thank you,
Loyal customer since 2004
seafood customer service representative
06/10/2017 approximately 08:04 PM at 9480 W Broad St, Richmond VA location employee "BUBBA" took my request for a Ahi Tuna steak and two Sea Scallops when packaging my purchase the employee placed the pricing labels on the underside of the brim of the Kroger logo baseball style cap, tan and navy in color. The employee's cap looked as if it had not been laundered in several years, with perspiration stains on the top of the brim and discoloration of the crown (soiled). When stating to the employee "that is unsanitary" the reply was "when I put it on my arm it pulls my hair". This was reported to a Supervisor in Customer Service. Not knowing if the employee had head lice or not due to his upkeep appearance and questionable hygiene as well as the two other patrons that had yet placed their order one would question the behavior when no one is watching. Grotesque is putting it mild!
