misinformation/lack of communication
My dog passed away at the age of 4 in a tragic accident. I have 2 children, ages 14 and 12. We had planned to have a memorial service for her so my kids could get closure. She was cremated and her remains were to be sent to us via FedEx. They said they attempted to deliver three times and left door stickers. On one of those days I was home at the time noted and no one ever rang the bell or knocked at that time.
I made arrangements for them to deliver the package to my local FedEx Office location. They called and confirmed that they had it. I told the person that called me that I would not be able to pick it up until this weekend. She never mentioned that they have a hold policy where they will send it back if you don't pick it up in a certain amount of time. When I went to get the package yesterday a rude woman told me that it wasn't there and there was nothing I could do. I asked her to call the main office to see if they could help and she said "I can't but go ahead and use our phone." The person on the phone said the package had been shipped back and I would need to pay to have it re-shipped. Upset, I told her good bye and asked to speak to the manager at this Kinkos. The manager did not ask me to hear my side of the story she immediately started quoting "Our policy". Well if they had quoted their "policy" the first time I spoke to them this problem would not have happened. She said she would have her manager call me and that person never did so.
I had to tell my kids we would have the memorial service without Emily's remains and we did. I am extremely disappointed in FedEx. Not only for their gross mishandling of my package and not telling me their policies ahead of time, but also for the uncaring and robotic attitude of their employees.

incorrect tracking info / no delivery attempt
Terrible service. Waited in on day due for delivery as it stated 'out for delivery', but no delivery was made. I was sitting in my front room watching for it when the tracking information was updated by a driver saying 'delivery attempted'. I reconfirmed my address and they were adamant that it was attempted and a card left. It wasnt and I was even sitting there at the time! Obviously a lazy and lying delivery driver. Ive been onto them every day and am now on day 5 of waiting for it. They dont seem to care that this happened and despite persistent requests they have still made no attempt to deliver. Terrible, non existant service from a large company that clearly doesnt care about its customers or misconduct of its delivery drivers

customer service cost our account
Filed against : David Baldwin & Accounts Receivable.
FedEx Corporation
3610 Hacks Cross Rd
Memphis TN [protected]
Complaint Description:
We've been communicating with David Baldwin every few months to set our billing to Net 30. David was our acting customer service representative out of Pittsburgh. David was asked over 10 times to set our billing to Net 30 so that our company did not have to write 8 checks a month for payment of our FED EX billing. David would keep saying he would work on this, but never got back to our company with the answers. After 3 shut-downs of our account, the company is now demanding a pre-payment should we wish to continue to want package services. This is purely the fault of our representative not handling our companies needs. Our account is now shut-down because of a FED Ex representative not doing his job. It is unfair when we've been a loyal customers and now his negligence of handling our business needs and requests has cost us. We were made an example of because we delayed payments. Each time something would happen to our account, David would not back us, respond to us or send us an email. This poor service has made all of FED EX look at us and close our account because one of their employees does not know how to communicate.

delivered to non-existent address
Ordered a package from Florida, and the shipper had a typo in the address. The correct address was 6315, but the company shipped to 6515. On the anticipated day of delivery, we tracked the package and noticed that it stated that the package had been delivered. Since 6515 would only be 1 block away from our house, we decided to walk down to our neighbors at 6515 and ask if they had our package. However - 6515 DOES NOT EXIST! The house numbers on the street go from 6500 to 6529 - no 6515 in between. We called FedEx and explained the problem to them, and asked where they delivered the package. They were unable to tell me anything other than that the package had been delivered to 6515. They also stated that 6515 was a valid address in their system, but were unable to look at a map and tell me exactly where it is (seriously - it does not exist - I checked with the city.) After 3 different phone calls, I was told that the driver would be sent back out to retrieve the package and they would give me a call back. I then received a call the next day stating that the package had been delivered to 6515. After quite a long time on the phone trying to explain to them that it is not possible because the address did not exist - the customer service rep hung up on me. I called back, explained the entire thing to another customer service rep and I was told that the only thing I could do is contact the shipper and have them put in a trace on the package and that at that point the driver would be sent back out to retrieve the package (from the non-existent address - neat trick!) When I asked why I had not been told this on the first phone call instead of the 5th phone call, the customer service rep again hung up on me.
I was unaware that the drivers are independent contractors until I read some of the other postings on this website. After asking repeatedly for the exact FedEx policy when an address cannot be found and not getting an answer, it all became clear. FedEx has no control over their independent contractors - and if an address cannot be found there is nothing stopping the driver from taking the package home - and no specific FexEx policy that anyone would read to me preventing them from doing so. My guess is if the address cannot be found, the driver just gets to keep it. There is certainly nothing stopping them from doing this, as the only person on the planet who knows where my package went is their independent contractor driver who is not a FedEx employee and FedEx has no control over.
The same company shipped a separate package to us via UPS on the same day. The address was also wrong on that package, but on the day of delivery I received a call from UPS stating that they had an incorrect address (they had attempted delivery to 6515 and not been able to find it) and that they had looked up the name in their system and wanted to confirm the correct address with me. They did in fact have the correct address (which the UPS person told me they basically "look in the phone book") and delivered the package on time. Why FedEx can't do this I have no idea - they wouldn't explain anything to me except that the package had been delivered to 6515.
Take away - use UPS or USPS if you want to actually receive your package and not have it stolen by an independent FedEx contractor (who by the way - can employ anyone - drug addicts, felons, etc. - who now know where you live AND what you own - and FedEx takes NO responsibility if something happens to either your package, or to you.)

My case is also exactly same. In my case I was tracking the shipment every day. It was supposed to delivered on 3/26/2021 per online status on 26. But Fedex guy delivered to non-existing property on 3/27/2021. The moment I got delivery notification I immediately called fedex customer service and told them I didn't receive the package while online status showing delivered. So they told me that they will arrange return pickup and send back the shipment to shipper. Hope driver returns the package to shipper

I'm having the exact same issues you had. Do not I repeat do not use fed ex. I did infact screwed up my address. That was my fault. I except my part in this.
They delivered it to another address that signed my name. The road in which it should have been delivered doesn't even have a single residence on the street. In other words it was impossible for them to deliver it by mistake. I'm really starting to think the delivery guy either stole it, or is just super incompetent. It was a CPU I bought which you can't find any stock. Super rare right now.
They have a investigation ongoing. But I'm thinking it'll come back without a answer. I will press charges if I find out. That either the driver took it. Or the residence signed my name. Will that do any good? From my experience most likely not.
Oh also bh photo. Do not buy from them also. They will screw you.
packages held hostage by &fedex security&
We are a production company california and new jersey, providing news footage to tv stations as part of our daily business.
Our production manager tendered 5 fedex envelopes to a local fedex depot on saturday for delivery first thing monday morning to our network accounts for live broadcasts.
Fedex had decided that our account has had some form of fraudulent activity (That they refuse to discuss, document or reveal), so they have refused to deliver any and all of our packages.
There was no one to discuss this issue with fedex over the weekend and when we were able to contact the fedex security manager on monday morning, we were told that the questions we were asking about our time value packages (Why, where, when) would not be answered and the packages would be returned to us.
May I suggest that there must be a better way for fedex to deal with long term business customers and clearly fedex has no idea what that way could possibly be.

Wow, I feel for you guys.
There is no accountability at FedEx for mistakes made.
We have a hunch that if they admit to 1/10000000000000000000000 of these kind of errors that cause needless stress to businesses, they would spend most of their time in court.
stolen package
I ordered a set of high end surround speakers through on 3/6/2011. The package shipped fine. I waited about 10 days and checked on my package. The tracking said it was in transit from allentown pa. About 25 miles from it's destination. That was on the 16th. Today is the 26th. 10 days and it is still not here!
For the last week they gave me nothing but run around. Saying it happens often. The labels fall off. What lairs. It was stolen and they know it. The package was scanned up to the last delivery truck. Duh.
Smart post says get a refund. I say I want my package not a refund.
By the way this is the second item of mine stolen by smart post. About 2 years ago they "lost" a whole computer system.
I have read that they like to lose wii games and electronics. Smart post needs to scan their people,

delivery exception security delay
What do those words mean? This driver for Fedex attempted delivery for my sons package three times. Each time it states that it is a delivery exception security delays. My son is at a military base, thought the security check lines were too long and he could not deliver. I am beginning to think the guy does not know where to deliver. How long can this go on...

Your company should have a home office...Find out their phone number and call them and ask for the head honcho there, and tell him/her what is going on...If that don't work, tell your company you are going to have to call a lawyer...And most lawyer's give a free consultation over the phone, just ask if they give free consultations and if so, talk to the lawyer and tell them what is going on, and maybe they can give you some advise on how to handle this...Good luck...And hope you get to feeling better...I too am a sufferer of all the illnesses you have...And i know how you feel...It's a terrible pain and you don't even want to get out of the bed, let alone have to deal with this crap...I wish you all the best...
lazy delivery guy trapped me!
I am looking out the window at a 120 pound box leaning against the back of my car. I don't understand how the delivery guy couldn't take the time to walk onto my porch and ring my doorbell to ask for help. I would have gone outside and moved my car and helped him carry the package to the porch. Now I have no idea how I'm going to get this package into the house... or get my car out of my driveway. I would be satisfied if I had the option to at least go someplace if I wanted to. Thank you very much, FedEx.
fake home delivery
I brought a desk lamp for my study desk last Sunday on Walmart and it is shipped by FedEx home delivery. Tracking by FedEx system yesterday and it indicated the package was due to delivered today. Waited at home the whole morning without any knock or call and I get a "Delivery exception" for FedEx "cause I wasn't at home"...
Called customer service and they ask me to find a door tag... Of cause there isn't any door tag there... I have a clear view of the apartment entrance road and no FedEx truck showed up today unless they use invisible truck with invisible driver...
As I remenber, we used to get some package from FedEx around 5 - 6pm just a few days ago. It is strange that they decided "Delivery exception" much earlier...Must be a FAKE delivery attempt... Let's what they will do tomorrow...
Whatever the outcome is, this is the last time I use FedEx...
I went in to a shipping service in my area to send a document FedEx Priority Overnight to my aunt in Dallas, Texas. I wanted to make life easier for her so I even paid for the return sticker and stuck it to another Priority Overnight return envelope back to me.
After the document and enclosed check was ready for pick-up I called the FedEx 800 number and scheduled a pick-up on Thursday so I would have it in my hands Friday morning. I was asked for the telephone number, then zipcode of pick-up. The gentleman asked how I wished to pay for the package. I explained to him that I had already paid for it and the return label and envelope had been enclosed in envelope that I had sent earlier so all that had to be done was to have a driver pick it up. I asked if he would like the Tracking # or Package ID#. I was told it was not necessary...
I received a call from my aunt that FedEx never came to pick up the envelope. I called the FedEx 800 number again and explained that the my envelope had never been picked up. I was asked for my pick-up #, which I gave to her. I was told by the young lady that when the driver showed up he was told that there wasn't any such package for pick up at that address. She then read off an address that WAS NOT my aunt's. I told her that was not the address. She then used the telephone number to verify we were speaking about the correct pick-up. The telephone number WAS correct but the ADDRESS the driver was sent to WAS NOT!
After speaking to someone further up on the "food chain" with a fancy title I was told that the only thing that could be done was to schedule a pick-up for tomorrow, Friday. Wow, what great customer service! One problem, with a Friday pick-up for a Priority Overnight will place the envelope in my hands on Saturday and I am unable to hand deliver it to the individual it was intended for because their office is CLOSED ON SATURDAY!
When I told the higher-up on the "food chain" with the fancy title that I wanted a letter from FedEx admitting their screw-up I was told that the only thing the letter would say was that an attempt was made to pick a Priority Overnight envelope was made at the address they had in the FedEx system! No admission of their screw-up, just the "facts" as they show it.
My intention this evening is to search out every last customer complaint website on the Internet and cut and paste just what I have written here, and tomorrow tell anyone and everyone that FedEx not only screwed up and dropped the ball but can't even own up to it!
Do I really believe that anything that I do or say will bring FedEx to a screeching halt - no, but with the way American's are viewing large corporations and how they do business on a day-to-day basis perhaps knowing that people just may not think of FedEx as their first choice for their shipping needs might make someone sit up and take notice in the "ivory tower."
A New UPS Customer
delivery service
Just thought I'd share something that occurred involving FedEx. Recently I started noticing that every time I ordered a package it would never come. I'd go online to check the tracking status and it would say "delivery exception" meaning the customer was not available to receive the package. In every instance I was home in my apartment waiting and in every instance at the same time between 11:30am-12:30pm the driver would claim I wasn't there. I'd call FedEx to tell them what happened and they'd just keep saying "oh sorry we missed you." I'm like miss me? How the hell can this guy keep missing me like a dozen times when i'm here waiting. I kept testing my buzzer thinking ok maybe it's not working even though other people were buzzing my apartment so i knew it couldn't be that. So it wasn't the buzzer. Why then does he keeping saying nobody's home? I double checked with FedEx each time to make sure the address was correct and it always was. So what then? Well I decided the next time to wait for the guy downstairs in the lobby of my building around the usual time he always said he was there. I went down at 12:10pm, had my Blackberry with me and frequently checked the online tracking. Just as expected it said delivery exception at 12:25pm customer not available. I immediately called FedEx, told them I was literally standing in the front doorway of my building at the exact same time the driver claims to have stopped by. I told them no Fed Ex delivery attempt was made. I demanded to be put in touch with his station manager and they conferenced the call. The manager then told me to hold while he contacted the driver. I do not know what was said but the manger came back on and apologized to me and said he'd send another driver to deliver my package within a few hours. Long story short I got my package about 5 hours later but still no explanation or understanding as to why the original driver had obviously been lying about coming here all those times. Is this what i'm paying for? For someone to play games with me. Did I piss him off one time or something and he just decided to start fu** ing me over? I don't know...but I'm never ordering anything through FedEx again. At least not as long as I'm at this address.

I'm handicapped. Specifically arranged to have package delivered on Saturday when I'd be home to receive it. I waited by the door but the driver left a note on the door and left the package in the leasing office. The package was rehab equipment and because I'm handicapped I have no way to get the package from the leasing office to my apartment which is why I set up delivery this way specifically. Now I have to return it and have it sent back via another delivery service that will actually deliver it to my door and have my rehab delayed.
first time ever and last to ever use this FedEx service for overseas packages ! I send my girlfriend a 100 dollar gift watch padded to deliver the watch 144 dollars and in top off this she had to paid another 45 dollars to receive this package this is embarrassing and outrages me, that she had to be put thru this, like if this was a commercialized product ! it was 1 watch ! next time I just take the trip with the 200 dollars i spend on getting this package there, and i will enjoy better giving her this package my self even, if i have to pay a little more, but it's worth the her smile and not what on this situation of receiving a gift that she has to pay for
honestly i feel that FedEx representative should have mentioned the possibilities of costume charging fees on a gift ...i have used many other services where the company would take the responsibility of fees and taxes for you to avoid this embarrassing situation that I just when thru ( will not use this service again )
poor work ethic
On Tuesday, 2-8-2011, I hit a deer on my way to work. Tuesday evening after work, I ordered the parts that I need to repair my vehicle. I paid 60 something dollars for shipping. The estimated day of delivery was [protected]. I have two jobs, and I work seven days a week. On the moring of [protected], I checked the status of my order and the fed-ex website said it was on the truck for delivery. I was able to take the day off work, and I removed the broken parts off my vehicle while I awaited the new parts. The parts did not show up, and FedEx claims it was due to weather. It hasn't snowed since Tuesday night, the roads have been bladed since then, and it's a sunshiney Friday. The USPS made it to my house on 44 cents postage, but the FedEx driver won't attemp delivery from Coulmbia, Missouri, to Stover, Missouri. It's not because of weather -- it's because the driver is lazy and incompetent. Obviously, he just wanted to get back to the station early, so he could get an early start on his weekend. Another time, he said he left the package on the doorstep when in fact my mother-in-law was home all day and he never showed. After I complained to FedEx he managed to deliver the package two days later. These drivers make more money than I do with two jobs -- why doesn't FedEx hire driver's that do their job?
Update -- It's Monday [protected], it's been a very sunny day, it's currently 44 degrees, the roads are all completely clear, and once again FedEx did not deliver. The comments say no attempt made.
Stealth Pilot, I'm sure it's very small compared to your Grand Canyon. As far as your military service, I doubt your much more than a bag nasty.
Explain how a sunny 40 degree February day is bad weather. The roads were bladed, even my driveway is clear. Also, the driver has lied before on a different package saying he left the package on the doorstep. After complaining he did deliver it two days later. Stealth Pilot, you must be an ugly female because you have over -- 4, 000 -- comments on this site! You spend a great deal of time trying to argue with the people who post legitimate complaints here. I feel sorry for you -- troll. Probably fat too. If you didn't have such a conflict personality you would probably find a man or another ugly girl that would settle for you. Then you could have a life.
I would have gone to pick up the package, had FedEx posted that a delivery was not going to be attempted due to weather. Instead, they said it was on the truck for delivery. Everyone who traveled our road is still alive. The Postman came to the house just fine. If you had read the complaint you would see this has been an ongoing issue with this driver not making deliveries, so he can return to the station and get off work early. As for the name calling, I doubt you speak to people in that manner in face to face communication. But, on the internet you're a tough guy.
Stupidity runs rampant. Let me first address this to Stealth Pilot. I feel it's safe to assume that this is a legitimate complaint as it's not the only one of it's kind about FedEx. You automatically assume that the person posting it is too much of an idiot to know if the roads are too bad for a delivery or not. I'm sure that if the roads were that bad it would be understood and there would be no complaint made. I'm correct in that assumption due to the next post made by Regenald stating that he would have gone to get the package himself. If the roads were so terrible, he wouldn't have been able to get out himself to get this package. Also, I don't read that he's complaining that he doesn't make enough money. I read it as, he does his job and his second job and this driver can't seem to do his. It's apparent that the problem is with the driver on this particular route as there have been previous problems with delivery to that address. You make it sound as if you take the complaints personal as your first comment is to try and degrade Regenald. If you take notice, people with great work ethics tend to expect the same from others when they do their jobs. Holding down two jobs, be it burger flipping (FHL-HOU) or whatever the case may be, shows great strength in character and I commend him for this. Now a question for you SP, why in the world would you be ashamed to be a "housewife"? That is another thing people should be praised more for than they are. Before you attack, yes, I do have a full time job away from home. In the hours that I don't work for someone else, I work at home taking care of my family and I love every minute of it. I'm talking about the women that raised us. They may have had full time jobs and they may not but when they were home, they were "housewives". Imagine, some of the "housewives" may have even been the man of the family. At any rate, there was someone there raising you, doing your laundry until you were able to do it yourself, cooking for you, making sure you got where you needed to go, running errands until you were able to drive, keeping you clothed, making sure you had food, taking care of your every need. Why, I can certainly see why that would be something to be ashamed of. (I do hope that sarcasim came through clearly enough.) The last thing I have to say is on your last comment about Regenald being an idiot. Please scroll up and look at who started the insults... Have a good day. :)
Reginald -- Notice how reactive stealth is? It is VERY INSECURE, needs to berate people that don't agree with the nonsensical comments. IT also needs to brat it is in the military, yet always asks what occupation another person is, and whether male or female. Sure is a loser, ignore IT and the followers. It is a reason to give thanks every day that we're not like that.
Let IT believe IT has bested you, then it feels better.
Seems a bit jealous of Fed Ex. His two burger flipping jobs pay less than the Fed Ex pays its drivers. Not only that, he is a bad driver hitting a poor innocent deer.

killed my fish
My order of live aquarium fish from a company in California was shipped overnight on Thursday 1/27 for arrival at my home in Georgia on Friday 1/28. Tracking site on Friday morning showed that it had arrived in Memphis early that morning.
A call to Fedex confirmed that the package was still there due to mechanical problems with the aircraft. They suggested I contact the shipper to see what the shipper wanted done.
The shipper contacted FedEx who agreed to deliver the package on Saturday, since the fish wouldn't survive until Monday. On Saturday morning, tracking information showed arrival at the Atlanta sorting facility early in the morning, but no entry showing it on a truck for delivery.
Another call to FedEx who said that their trace department would check into it and call me back and that FedEx delivered until 3pm so there was still time (it was noon). After 30 minutes another call to the shipper who said they'd send FedEx a priority e-message.
About an hour later I got a call from the trace department that she was sending a message to Atlanta and someone would call me back. It's 5pm as I write this, with no further contact from FedEx and no way to contact them.
I'm sure that Monday FedEx will show up with a box of dead fish. I'm going to open the package with the delivery person standing there to show 'em the end result of this fiasco before I refuse the shipment.
undelivered package
Here are the facts. At 12:15 pm, Thursday February 3rd, 2011 I took in a package to be delivered to Hammond, 30 miles away. I paid almost $20 for it to be delivered Friday. All day my recipient waited for the package. Throughout the day, repeated references to the website said the package was "in transit" and "on schedule." It was a ground delivery and...

FedEx is a miserable excuse of a company. They should go ahead and sell to UPS and maybe they can show them how delivery is properly done. I am on a med that has to be taken exactly as prescribed, missed doses can make me very ill, so of course FedEx found some way to mess it up. Their customer service dept. is a joke, they are a rude, inconsiderate, disrespectful bunch of people. I haven't spoke to the first one that needs to be working in any type of situation where they are in contact with the public. FedEx has never gotten a package to me, they have left it at my neighbors, they have left package with complete and total strangers that I have never met and have allowed them to sign for my package. My best guess is that they have cost me $300+ in having to have items re-shipped. I would not recommend FedEx and when I do have to have something shipped I try to completely avoid them. I have lived in the same place for 6 years and UPS delivers every two weeks like clockwork, I have never had the first complaint, the delivery guys are excellent, courteous, very professional and always kind.

I agree 100%.
In addition they pushed out a multi-million dollar smear campaign on UPS because FedEx doesn't file their business as a "shipping company". Instead they file their taxes and follow employment laws as if they were an airline. So when the loophole they were using was up for reform and was going to be closed they started a campaign to say it was unfair that they be treated as equals to UPS. You can read more about it here:

FedEx is a horrid company that bullies it's employees and prevents them from unionizing and spreads false ideas about their competitors. Not a company I do business with anymore.

Instead of charging a fee for the process in advance the company has the practice to let the item arrive to the customs and then ask a fee from the recipient (about twice as much as the fee asked from the seder in my case) in order to compleat the process and deliver the item to his/her door. The alternative options offered to the recipient have a comparable cost which puts him/her in a "no options" situation.
I believe that the company has the required expertise to estimate the cost of such routine deliveries, that the consumer is likely not to be aware of, and charge the appropriate shipping+handling fee by informing in advance the interested parties (both sender+recipient). I think such practices are not consumer friendly and shipping companies should make a relevant change in their policies.
lies about delivery
It is December 31, 2010. Fed Ex says that they came by my house to deliver a heater that I needed. I am home, have been home, no door bell, no knock, not delivery attempt note. I was in the living room by the door. My Toy Poodle barks at any noise, especially the door bell or knock. But, FedEx says they were at my house and made a delivery attempt. Lies! No heat for me! Fed Ex is conveniently closed for the holiday weekend. Why would a company like Fed Ex not tell the truth! It is very disappointing
still waiting for delivery, no tracking updates
place order with walmart.com on 12/14/10 for confirmed delivery date of no later than 12/23/10. It was shipped on Fedex according to their shipping email notice to me. It is now 12/18/10 PM and still no shipment and no way to track it as the Fedex tracking is never updated. I can't get a straight answer from Fedex or Walmart.com C/S. What am I to do now?
