Good Morning Jewel's Team, Friday, April 26, 2019 @ about 6:50 I went to purchase the three orders of the eight piece fried chicken special I did not see the name tags but this happened at the 6014 South Cottage Grove Jewels. The one employee begin to accuse one for leaving going to lunch it was very crowed and only two were working, very unprofessional my number was called and she asked me what do you want in a nasty way, I had my family waiting for dinner so I ordered, she then asked, what else do you want and her face was so twisted I thought she would want to fight me if I asked for anything else, I thought in customer services over the years and should never change is Hello, may I help you, or Hello how can I help you today and will this complete your order, thank you, have a nice day. I thought that's how to represent a company, are you kidding me, she was so nasty. Saturday Morning at about 11 a.m. I tried to purchase feminine products from the lock glass. I asked a male manager afro American, can you please asked someone to open the case so that I may purchase item, I waited someone finally came who look so very angry
and she also asked me what do you want, she did not allow me to reach for the items I needed to purchase but grabbed the items and said I will leave these at
the register, so unacceptable and unprofessional, overall most of the time I hate going in this Jewels because all of their attitudes stink, you should do an undercover camera, I know this is not the vision of the owners, I feel bad going in
there but it is close for my family, but they make me feel horrible with their nasty
attitudes, even my children say the same the attitudes are not friendly at all, really we are working people just like they are, what right do they have to speak condensing to guest, oh and by the way customer service is not nice, they also don't know how to talk to guest please give these workers a class in excellent customer services.

The Jewel Osco @ 20 W. Biesterfield Rd in Elk Grove, Il has a terrible problem. You cannot get help at the meat counter. Time after time I go there and you can see the butchers looking at you through the glass, while refusing to come out and help you. Sometimes I can force them out with a phone call, the phone is by the counter so they need to come out to answer it. Today that did nothing. Another staff member told me the one butcher was outside smoking.
The problem isn't what happened today, the problem is that it happens day after day!
The biggest problem? Management is aware and doesn't care enough to fix the issue. The staff in the meat department appears to be anti-customer, and the management seems to be detached from their purpose, which is customer service.
The deli and pharmacy staff are friendly, helpful and professional. Love them.

Eveytime I go and wait in line to order anything, no one seems to care to help. I will be the only one there and there are 7 employees working just looking at me and not asking if I need anything. Worst customer service ever. I don't know who is the manager there but they gotta do something about this. I don't like going there because I get treated differently than other people and that bothers me so much.

A fruit cup that was purchased for 3.79 on 4/20/19 at the south Chicago height jewel store number 3167 was terrible the mango was rock hard and nit even close to ripe as well as the strawberries were close to rotten . Terrible produce ! So disappointed I threw it away . This is not the first time I ha e experienced this problem the produce is terrible ! You guys really need to consider doing som quality control at this store I find mold on a lot of produce in the store and this needs to be addressed.

I ordered items for a baby shower today. I get there and they didn't have the cake, they said it was cancelled. It was not cancelled because I have a copy of the order and I have everything but the cake. I called after I ordered and went over every item. Further more the ladies in the bakery are rude. This is the 4th time I have tried ordering from the Deli. There is always a problem, also the tray with the salads were wrong. I am done giving them a chance, you need to get staff with better attitudes in the Deli and Bakery. I am attaching a copy of the order with the cake on it.
front door
The sliding door at the north entrance has been broken for over a year. It only opens about halfway causing people to run into it constantly. As creatures of habit we know how far sliding doors are supposed to open. When someone tries to enter and exit au the same time they make way by entering opposite sides. However, the doors stop halfway while opening. As a member of the community I frequent this location. Sometimes more than once a day. This is a clear disregard for customer services.

How can employee get terminated for having 5 no calls no shows when management had no idea why couldn't call in. Was not given a verbal warning, a written warning or a suspension. They just terminate. But yet they do nothing when employees come in everyday 15 to 20 minutes late. Plus do nothing when an employee goes on break for hour to an hour and a half and nothing is done. The employees including the department manager knows she does it but nothing is done. Maybe because her uncle is best friends with the store may. If that aint favoritism I don't know what is.

The service manager at the Palos Heights Jewel was very rude when we asked for a roll of quarters. This is not the first time she was rude to us. This needs to be addressed. I really like this store but will look for a different one. She is completely rude and mean. I always thought the customers were always right . But today it obviously wasn't the case
expired food
I live right next to a Jewel-Osco, but have experience the same at many surrounding stores. The amount of money I have wasted on expired food like yogurt, kombucha, almond milk, rotten fruit (especially berries, but also have has rotten plums, Asian pears, and apples) is immeasurable. I understand that it is a big store with lots of products, but I have not had this same experience shopping at other grocery stores.
I have no issues with the staff I encounter, but selling expired food over and over and over, and in completely different departments, is just ridiculous. I will not be shopping here any more unless it's an emergency and I am forced to. Even then, every single item I purchase will be thoroughly checked prior to purchase. And anything expired I grab off the shelf is going right to Customer Service.

They sell expired items all the time we were shopping there and we had 2 cart fulls of expired things they need to check the expired items we just bought expired creap mix it expired in feburary 9th 2019 and it is still on the shelves. Please hire more people for that store before someone gets seriously sick from the food they need to do a better job of checking the expired items beacuse they dont do that. They also dont nees to put items on sale thats expired
bathrooms
I visit this location two times a week
For the past year I have used the bathroom a number of times the condition of the bathroom is disgusting and a health risk.
It used to be checked every few hours it looks like now it gets checked every few days.
It's a great store with terrible bathrooms. I would love to continue to shop there but I will switch to a nother local grocery store if something is not done about the bathrooms.

My name is James Jenks. I am an Attorney and grew up in the Chicago Suburb of Lyons and work nearby. I have been a lifelong customer of Jewel Osco located in Stickney, Illinois near my home and shop there a few days a week. I have never had any issues until yesterday. I am not a person who filed complaints, but I was so taken back by my experience that I cannot stop thinking back on it and feel urged to inform you now. It may seem trivial, but to me it is not. I went in yesterday and wished to return some purchases that my family incorrectly bought only the day before. As I did not have the receipt I did not ask for a cash refund. I only wanted store credit as they were the wrong products that I needed. I have never had a problem before returning or exchanging in my 36 years as a loyal Jewel Osco customer. The first gentleman that I talked to said no problem and rang up my returns. I handed him my driver's license because I remember the last time that that I returned something they requested it he said he did not need it. But my returns were totaled just over $50. It was only a few items. It consisted of razors which were the wrong brand and that I needed and around $30. The rest was a can of deodorant and batteries which were the wrong size that I needed. And again I only wanted to get the correct product with store credit, not return it for cash. The gentlemen then informed me he needed someone to clear the return as it was over $50. He called over a woman and she then said I could not return without a receipt. But I informed her I only wanted store credit. There is also a sign at the customer service desk stated the return for credit is allowed without a receipt. She then stated very rudely that it was her discretion to not allow a return or exchange. She would not give me a reason. For. It allowing my return and allowing the person who was in front of me to return there perchases without a receipt. Her entire demeanor was rude and condescending. She called the assistant manager Michale Lewis over who was even more condescending and rude in a passive aggressive manner. I asked why not and he said because it was over $50. I said I wouldn't return everhing than to keep it under $50. He than said he would not except the return at all due to store policy. I pointed out that is not the store policy as stated. Again it was their rude and condescending manner that bothered me and the fact each of them keep giving me inconsistant reasons to deny my returns and seemed to just deny me for no reason but because they wanted to. Especially After the first said no problem. I am very upset by this experience and would like it addressed.
