carnation instant breakfast light and dreamfields pasta products.
I shop at Shaws in Weymouth and Braintree and you have discontinued carrying Carnation Instant Breakfast Light and Dream Fields Pasta products. These products are sold at Trucchis, Stop and Shop and Market basket. We will no longer be going to Shaws for that reason, we like to shop where we can get everthing we need. I hope you reconsider your decision.

watermelon incorrect price charged
I purchased a watermelon that was labeled in the bin at "$3.99" on 5/25/19 from the Shaws in Cedarville/Plymouth MA. When I got home I inspected my receipt to find I had been charged $9.99 for a "watermelon red bin". I went back to the store and waited ten minutes in the customer service line and the clerk returned to me without an apology $6.00 for the difference between the correct price from the sales display and what I was charged.
I pointed out to the clerk that I believe I was due a complete refund as it was the first of that item I was claiming was mismarked. Her reply was, again without an apology "We are not refunding the complete price on the watermelons, we are providing the difference between the charged price and the sale price.".
I am incensed at her reply for several reasons:
1. It is MA law I believe that a mismarked item under ten dollars should be refunded in total for the first item. As such I believe I am due a full refund and not the difference
2. Her response to me, ""We are not refunding the complete price on the watermelons, " indicated that there had been multiple instances of this overcharging on the watermelons. So that appears to be a pattern. Is Shaw's motus operandi to overcharge and hope it is not noticed?
3. Along the same lines, I always check my receipts for purchases at all stores. I NEVER experience a problem with overcharges at Markwet Basket, Stop and Shop etc. but I would say 80% of the time I find an overcharge when shopping at Shaw's, (particularly missing discount labels on meats).
Given my sharp eye this has worked in my favor but I wonder again if this is a business model the MA AG would not appreciate.
I expect a reply.

organic produce vs regular produce
I am a loyal Shaw's customer. I appreciate the new model incorporating organic options where they belong-with everything else - as just another option to buy. Today however I felt ROBBED. I have been buying heirloom, locally sourced, shallots from Arrowfarms in Chelsea MA as an alternative to organic shallots since they didn't seem to have organic. Today I had to decide between loose sad looking shallots in a bin with zero source information for 3.99/lb OR 4 pathetic organic ones for 3.99/3oz. What gives ?!? Bring back the heirloom shallots! This new "choice" is not one I will continue to make. I guess I will have to see if Stop n'Shop carries Arrowfarms. What a bad decision from a company I have come to depend on.
wendy ruprecht
Wendy and her negative attitude and gossiping about everyone, particularly me will get me killed by her alcoholic brother.
Because I am trying to leave her brother who drinks a gallon of whiskey a week, he is trying to destroy me by spreading vicius lies and rumours about me--his sister Wendy who lives next to us is repeating whatever he tells her, even though she knows I am of better character than her brother and her. She is going to get me killed if she does not stop engaging in these malicious behaviors.
She told the Shaws management and staff in Woodsville that I am a thief--tthis is not true and I have been treated rudely, denied assistance, and followed through the store by your employees. If you were to look at my rewards number of [protected], you will note that I spend much and often. Wendy also tells us or anyone who will listen about your bad management, your checks and balancs, and personal vicios information about anyone. She is telling people that Timothy Goslant who worked their is a pedophile. She talks about Laura Beckly being a heroin addict, which she is not, states that she is promiscuous, etc.. As a valued customer I want to know that my personal and rewards info is confidential by your employees. Her brothet is an abusive alcoholic but because I caught them in a very compromising position she wants me destroyed and gone. I am in the process of trying to find my own place, but I want to make it out alive. He has choked me and sprained my hand in the pat two weeks and it is always precipitated by interactions with Wendy Ruprecht. Slander is punishable in a civil court, and if these rumours about me continue, I will file a slander lawsuit via Shaws. Also because you have a supposed pedophile and heroin addict working there, customers are choosing to shop elsewhere. Whether or not these things are true, it is not Wendy's business as a representative of Shaws to tell anyone who will listen to her negativity and slander. She denies her alcoholic brother has an issue but he does not shower for weeks, he does not brush his teeth, he ha started to urinate on my living room wall in middle of night, and he tried peeing in his sons mouth thinking it wa the toilet. That is a problem eiter way because he is eithe a pedophile or a blackout drinker. He also has an infatuation with little girls that his sister knows about but doesn't think it is an issue. She blamed his ex, now she wants to blame me. If she would confront her brother she could help but instead she is helping him to try and destroy me. Wendy needs to be disciplined if not let go because she will be facing a slander suit. You can be pat of this slander suit or she will have to take responsibility for her own actions. Thank you for your time.
employee
I know I can't do much about it but at the shaws grocery store in Waterbury Vermont, where myself and my kids shop almost every day, there was a cashier "vaping" RIGHT at the entrance. Not at the designated smoking area but the entrance. Her name is Danielle I believe. I know she thinks it's just vaping, but just as gross, and dangerous and smells! I walked out of the store and you could still smell it even though she was not there.just ridiculous,
unethical behavior
This store has zero respect for me.
1. Many months ago, threatened by a cashier. Outrageous.
2. I was the object of ridicule while checking out due to my sexual preference, and it was
by two people, one of whom was a store official (female with yellowish-reddish
hair, and an overweight girl employee). The form asks me to be polite, so that
restricts details.
3. Cashiers who I have been very nice and respectful to, and in return, I have been
smacked in the face with laughter.
a. Two female cashiers
b. Young male who worked in vegetable section. I had approached him to ask the
difference between a jalapeño and another pepper.
*It is definitely provocation because if they see me upset, they ramp up the covert passive aggressive activity. I suppose they feel it is okay to provoke someone on disability.
Zero morality, zero kindness, zero respect.
So, I avoid all checkout lanes if possible...sometimes it is not possible, so I brace myself. I always try to go though self checkout.
Otherwise I would never have gone back to this store...however, it's the closest to me, and going elsewhere is an undue hardship at this point.
There's no resolving this. I can't un-know all this.
I just want to be left alone.
No more provocation.
molded pies
This is about the fifth time I have seen molded products from the bakery on the shelf with due dates that have passed and have been blue mold all over them, to include a time that I bought a fruitcake got it to my birthday party went to cut it and it had mold all over the strawberries! I have brought this to the attention to the managers at the store...

I purchased 1 package today, I went home to cook it. I noticed that there was so much fat that was hidden under the chicken that I wasted 1/2 of the package. 1st pic is what I wasted. 2nd pic is what I could use for my recipe. I am very disappointed regarding this matter. This is not the 1st time this has happened, also happens with ground beef. It look...

Yesterday I went shopping for a customer. Because my cart was heavy I left it in the aisle I was in and went to the deli counter. When I returned, my cart was gone. An announcement was made and it was retrieved by an associate. She proceeded to tell me with an attitude that I should let someone know next time and that I was gone for 20 minutes in which I surely was not. She then told me she already put some of my items away. I was so disgusted I left. I did call the office and spoke to the manager she advised she would investigate it. In the meantime she offered me a gift card of $25. When I went to pick it up at the service desk a woman Dianne was waiting on a customer. When it came to me, not a hello can I help you? But a look as if she didn't want to give me service. Just know that I will never shop in this market again. Poor customer service definitely all around. Never had I had issues in this store or any other.
dairy
For awhile, I have noticed that this location does not keep many dairy items freshly stocked. I have gone to purchase milk, half n half, yogurt, cottage cheese and sour cream, and the expiration date is either past, same day as shopping, or within a couple of days of expiring. Yesterday, february 23, I went to purchase some lowfat sour cream. The expiration date was february 23! Same day. When I informed the stocker that there were 3 rows of expired sour cream, he responded, "oh, now I will have to pull all that". Many times, they are stocking these items while I am right there. I have mentioned on prior occasions that they are stocking expired items, and each time, they act as if they are unaware. When I asked him if they had any fresh, he returned from the back and said, we have to order some and it won't be in until wednesday. Seriously? Sour cream? I will no longer be shopping at this location. Clearly, they sell these products hoping nobody notices. We pay enough for groceries as it is. I am not interested in paying premium prices for expired, or close to expired foods.
changing products
I was a loyal Shaw's shopper until the last few months. My local Shaw's in Harwich MA keeps changing items they carry. One week I can buy something and the next week it is no longer available. This has become a habit more than an anomoloy. Just yesterday I went in to buy prepared (hot) hot wings which were always a best seller - to find that someone made italian wings instead. Really? Same thing is happening in the seafood department. Frozen stuffed shrimp have disappeared as have the sea scallops they used to carry. In the deli, I am finding the same thing - they used to carry Salem ham and now it's no longer there. Same with teriyaki chicken breast. If you need to contact me for more info, please feel free to email me at [protected]@comcast.net. I used to love this store but now I am forced to shop at Stop & Shop!
luminarc containers
I participated in the Shaws promotion to get free Luminarc containers. I set the big one on my container with the lid on it, and approx. 30 mins later it just shattered! ... glass shards went all over my kitchen and into my fruit bowl, toaster, and some baked goods I had sitting near by. When I went to clean it up, I stepped on glass that was well over 30 feet from my counter, and in the commotion my dog came to investigate and cut both his paws! ... this is ridiculous and now has cost me money! I had to throw out all my newly purchased fruit, approx 14 dollars worth of fruit, and cookies and a cake approx 10 dollars, I bled on my carpet, and took my dog to the vets... 70 dollars!
I just had this happen this morning. The container was in my cupboard which was directly in front of me and it too exploded!
meat department
I've written a couple of times in regards to Waterville Shaws employees and it was always do to their positive attitudes and professionalism.
Unfortunately, I cannot say I had a positive experience today. This is the second year I've ordered a whole prime rib for Christmas dinner at Shaws but unlike the perfect cut of meat I bought last year, this year im truly disappointed.
It started with a female employee named Pat who didn't take my order properly.
I asked for a 20lb or bigger whole prime rib. What she wrote on the order, 12lbs or bigger. Not sure how one messes that order up. To include the many 12lb prime ribs sitting in the meat section. Why would I order one when they were already there..
The second issue was from meat cutter Joe. Guess he was having a horrible day as it was reflected in his attitude. He comes out of the back with this prime rib which was 17.3 lbs. I explained I had ordered a 20lb prime rib in which he shows me the order Pat wrote down.
I again explained I had ordered a 20lb prime rib which I needed to feed 25 people. Joe told me they don't make 20lb and the 17lb was just a few pounds under. He then tells me I can buy a bigger prime rib which hasnt been trimmed if I wanted. I asked why I would buy a bigger prime rib to pay for the fat which needed to be cut off.
At this point, Joe's attitude is now affecting mine.
He tells me to buy another prime rib to get the pounds I want. So...I'm thinking I should buy a 3 pound prime rib...that should be quite the treat.
I cannot handle Joe's condescending tone anymore so I tell him I'm good. Not to be out done Joe turns, starts to walk away and tells me Merry Christmas. Well Joe. Merry Christmas to you as well. I hope your attitude changes for when your family comes to see you. You definitely have major room for improvement.
Now, I have been been a loyal Shaws shopper for decades. I also realize I'm a single person which doesn't affect this store in anyway. I just needed to voice my disappointment with this failure in customer relations. As you can see from the p it cures below, It couldn't even be packaged properly.
Signed,
Still a Shaws customer
PS. Please forgive any typos as I wrote this on my phone in your parking lot.
pricing and service
12/17/18: Today I went to get a prescription filled. I was there in August of 2018 (have receipt) to fill a prescription. I was going elsewhere prior to Albertsons. I no insurance so I pay cash.in August, I shopped around and found Albertsons had a much better savings compared to where I was going before so today it was a no brainer so I had script filled there thinking I was going to save like last time since that is what I was told! WRONG! I was charged 3 times the amount compared to where I use to go. 3 times! No help! No explanation! Talked to me as if I was lying about being there before! How the can the charge 3 times the amount and say I was never there?
no prices on salt bag outside both the 25 lbs and 50lbs.
Visited the Falmouth store and wanted to buy salt for the driveway. There was no prices and I wanted to know what they were BEFORE buying and which one to buy.
I asked 1 staff which was outside he tells me they can scan it for you inside. That would mean I have to put in my cart a 25 and 50 lbs bag in my cart so someone can scan it for me and all I wa t to know is the price. Went inside customer service dept, the lady said same thing . They can scan it for you !
I'm a customer I want to know a price for something. It should be mark! Period. Spoke to 2 people and actually a third staff bc I had her rung out my purchases. She said the same thing and was confused what I wanted. You just lost a customer! Absolutely rediculous .
luminarc container and russet potatoes
I participated in the Shaw's stamp saver program and purchased an 8.2 cup luminarc container. I filled it with already cooked potatos onions carrots and corned beef and placed it my table. As we were eating approx 15 min later the luminarc container exploded into hundreds of pieces. The glass got into our food and all over the table and floor where the dogs were sitting. Thankfully no one was cut. (See pictures). I also purchased a bag of russet potatoes that were rotten within 3 days. [protected]@aol.com
Happened to my mother also - disappointing Shaw’s is giving away dangerous items
shaw’s store manager in dover nh
I have been a long time shopper of Shaw's of dover, often going out of my way just to shop there because I enjoyed the store and the customer service. This is not the first time I have complained about this manager.
Deborah Denton is extremely rude to customers (I've witnessed other interactions besides mine with her). Often insisting the customer was wrong, sighing at customers when they ask for assistance, swearing out loud, rolling her eyes at customers. She is also very unprofessional saying things such as "you can shop somewhere else if you don't agree", "Shaw's doesn't do that" "good luck trying to win this case" etc...also laughing at me when I've asked questions, and I've openly heard her talking to other co workers about other employees, saying derogatory things. Every interaction involving her lately includes her insulting a customer or a co worker. Will you open your eyes and do something? I know of at least 5 complaints against her because I know many people who shopped there as well and she still holds a job there, it is unacceptable!
This Shaw's has lost a lot of loyal cumstomers recently and I can't understand how you would be okay with that and continue to have such a negative person representing this store. You've lost my business and that of my families because you continue to not listen to your customer's complaints about someone. It seems to me that she has some personal ties within the company or something to secure her job because NO ONE in customer service that behaves the way this woman has on MULTIPLE occasions would still hold their job. Very disappointed Shaw's! I'll continue writing until you wake up and do something, people like her should not be the face of a store.
management
For the past couple of months I have become increasingly unhappy with the Shaws supermarket in north Conway New Hampshire. I will start off by saying there are never Ever enough checkout lines open and what should be a quick trip into the grocery store usually turns into a 20 or 30 minute ordeal I will start by saying I have bought more food from this place that is rotten! I am so tired of coming home opening lunchmeat or pre-cut vegetables or getting fruit that is rotten smelling it's disgusting! I am not working for you so I should not have to rotate Your stock. Every time I go in there to get lunchmeat even if it is not busy there is only one person working the counter usually three or four people waiting for their order to be taken and it usually takes me between seven and 10 minutes for somebody to even talk to me ! My time is valuable!
I have experienced the same weight time at the butcher counter. I am writing this to tell you that I will never ever use your store again! and I hope that when Market Basket moves in here they take over your position because what What is going on over there is absolutely stupid!
deli counter
The front of the deli counter is disgusting. There is handprints all over the glass, pieces of meat in the cracks of the case, not to mention the floor had dried up meat all over it. Pretty disgusting. If I was the manager of this store I would want to know that my employees are not giving 100% to making the front of the meat/cheese case look good. What's the back of the store look like ?
(lucerne?) signature brand ice cream
When you first carried this brand, the freezer case was full with a variety of the brand. Now it is down to one or two choices!
I go to Shaw's, mainly because of my love of this ice cream, particularly the "Low fat Vanilla Bean", but then spend and average of $20 to $75 on total sales. I can't see that how this isn't very advantageous to your store. Why do you introduce a brand and then slowly take it away? The Lucerne brand of products were and are very good, at reasonable prices.
