I had returned a item for refund
Aug 18/2021 I purchased a monster trapper that had clearly been open before I purchase it, no manual no packing around the item what's so ever. I wanted this item while my grand daughters were visiting for they are highly allergy to mosquitoes bites. On returning this item I was treated like I was the individual who had open the package and was in the...

August 20, 920am. I just got a phone call from the delivery person and I was disconnected- no problem, however he called back and actually said to me "why did you disconnect from me." As I was telling him I am not sure what happened as I received another call at the same time as his, he said: "you think I am air duct cleaning don't you." This I presume i...
Read full review of Canadian TireUnable to return Hamilton Beach defective toaster for credit
I bought a Hamilton Beach 4-slice toaster from Canadian Tire Barrhaven on August 18, 2021 for 49.99 on special. I used it once and found that it toasted OK on one side but hardly at all on the other, even though the bagel button was NOT pressed. I then checked product reviews and found this to be a fairly common complaint for this model and some others like it. I decided to take it back today (Aug 19) for store credit as I did not want a replacement of the same sort or another brand at this time. I was not able to get a store credit even though I have been a frequent customer of CT over the past 40 years. In future, it seems that I will have to purchase appliances from suppliers with a no-quibble guarantee such as Amazon and Costco.
Desired outcome: Store credit of $49.99
Faulty hydrated off propane cylinders
Around April of 2021 I bought 3 cylinders of Propane from the above Canadian tire Store.
It turned out after one use each two cylinders hydrated off from too much water injected into them at the vendor for PH control. I worked in the Petro-Chemical Industry prior to retiring, so I know the indicators of this.
Today when I returned it to the above store, the store manager and staff would not exchange cylinders with me, as a matter of fact they irate and threw me and my wife out of the store and told us to never return again.
Now Where Is The Customer Service Here?
Where is Canadian Tires Warranty of Customer Satisfaction Here?
Is this a way of treating a customer, that has bought thousands of dollars with their credit card at this particular store in the past?
Desired outcome: exchange cylinder and apologize for poor service

When I returned an air compressor, one of the managers accused me of breaking it and then laughed at me when I told him that I didn't break it. I never felt so disrespected and angry. I was able to get an exchange but just to be humiliated like that, I found very unprofessional. The compressor is a 26 gallon mastercraft air compressor. And not only did they...

Last year I purchased a 29 inch CCM Alpha mountain bike. Since then I have spent over $250 in repairs and the bike is still unfit to drive. I need to bring it in to a bike repair shop to see if I can replace the head stem as the hex nut on mine was stripped since it was purchased and the front fork is very loose and unsafe. I had the freewheel break one of the gears and needed to be replaced, the back derailleur broke off and went into the spokes so i needed to replace the derailleur the back wheel is not warped however I did not replace that. I am very displeased with the poor assembly of the bike from the store or wherever the bikes are assembled. I feel sick to my stomach when I think that I have spent more on repairs to a brand new bike, than what I paid for the bike. I feel I should have the bike replaced either by the store or by CCM the company. I paid just under 500 for the bike which was on sale and I've have spent the equivalent amount on repairs and still am not able to use the bike as I need to replace the head stem. I was going to just shut my mouth and repair the bike however, it is just out of hand and I really do feel I deserve compensation. I do not want any money, I just want the bike I bought to be functional. I wish you could replace my bike.
Desired outcome: I would like my bike replaced with the same model but without all the defects.
Greenwork weed whacker
Got a work green weed whacker charger and battery it needs maintenance it's 3 years old don't have a receipt, I would like to exchange and pay the difference, it seems can't get it fixed anywhere price was roughly $385.00 can if live in Whitby Ontario, I also have a Canadian tire credit card so I try to support Canadian tire stores as much as possible. Desired outcome: $120,000
canadian tire money
Hi, I went to Duncan, BC Canadian Tire today to make a purchase. At checkout I tried to redeem my Canadian Tire paper money, and for the fifth time, they have yet again refused to accept/redeem my Canadian tire cash. They said corporate hasn't given them the go ahead to accept it. That is unacceptable, especially considering you can pay with cash.
Further, they refused to let me redeem my digital Canadian Tire cash points through my Triangle App because I don't have a physical card. I have never had a physical card, I have only ever had the app and I have used it many times, on some substantial purchases. The CT staff advised me - for me to redeem those app points, which are tied to my name, address, phone number, and app (I had valid ID with me) they told me I had to get a physical card, call to get my cards merged together and then redeem them in store with my card. That is pathetic.
I know I can go online to the Canadian tire website and redeem them online at checkout - how does that even make sense. That literally will deter me from shopping in store.
The customer service I received today was awful, unprofessional and not at all friendly. The only helpful person I encountered today was a guy in the Promo Department named Dyson. Other than that, the front end staff was awful. I am very disappointed in my shopping experience today.
Desired outcome: Accept my canadian tire paper cash and let me redeem my CT points via the app or with id.
Invasion of privacy
Here is my complaint below and after the "boiler plate" answer from Canadian Tire which did not answer my concern.
I purchased a windshield sunscreen on Sunday for $25.00 plus tax at the Steveston (Ironwood) location in Richmond. It did not fit the car and I returned it, unopened, at the Scott Road location in Surrey on Monday, with the bill and the credit card on which I had made the purchase. The cashier asked to see picture ID. I gave her my driver license and she recorded the details on the computer. When I inquired why she was doing that she said it was a Canadian Tire policy to do this. I have returned several times items at Canadian Tire in the past mostly at the Richmond locations and have never been asked this. The fact that she wrote down the detail of my driver license in her system makes me very uncomfortable. There was no reason why she should do this. It is an invasion of my privacy given that I had everything she needed to make the return of an unopened item.
Please let me know.
Thank you
Catherine Miller

Mastercraft 15A 10" table saw
On July 15, 2021, I purchased a table saw described above from your store on Woodlawn Rd., Guelph.
It appears to be a quality saw however the main saw assembly (pvc or plastic) does not mesh up with the steel saw stand - it all came out of the same package.
I called Mastercraft customer service and was told that they were aware of the issue and that I should just loosen all the frame bolts in order to make it fit. I explained that this whole thing is "out" so much that this suggestion would not work. I asked if they had any other solution - and they don't...
I can rig up an adaptation using plywood however this is a less than satisfactory resolution to the problem than I expect.
Canadian Tire should be pressing this supplier for a better product (frame).
I have not used the saw as yet but from the look of the equipment I assume an excellent product. This small issue should be easily remedied by the supplier rather than (in effect telling) the customer, you're on your own - check youtube videos...

Was booking an oil/filter change for my KIA Sorento.
Talking to the individual he said Tues 20 July 2021 at 10:00 had an opening.
Gave him my cell # which I said was an Ontario number, I was in town from out of province.
I started coughing I put my hand in front of my mouth so I could hear, since he kept talking while I was coughing, He said to cover the phone since my coughing was hurting is ears. Told him I was trying to do so, he ask what type of vehicle I was s driving told him KIA SORENTO.
He just hung up on me, shows no respect or compassion. I'm moving back to Nova Scotia. I will definitely avoid that store. I'll find some other place to bring my business.

Inappropriate, over the top, employee over reaction and hostility toward a customer
Early Saturday afternoon, July 10, 2021, my husband and I had a list of establishments we were setting out to visit with the intention of buying a high-end push mower and some other items. We scrapped our list in favor of a 'one-stop shop' at Canadian Tire. Upon arrival at a very un-busy, but cluttered lawn equipment area, we were pleasantly impressed that...

Please do not buy from Canadian Tire
I got a gift from my daughter for father`s day but unfortunately it was not what I needed, so I went to Canadian tire store# 258 in Nepean ON on 2021-06-29 and ask to exchange it for something that I really need or get a gift card to buy later.
They refused to do that and said refund can only go to my daughter credit card.
I said I don`t want my daughter to know that I am returning the gift but they said they can`t help me.
I asked to talk to the manager, manager came and was very rude and impolite to me and repeat the same thing and when I said this is not acceptable he grabbed my gift and ask me to leave the store without my gift and receipt of it.
When I refused to leave, they brought a big muscular guy without any uniform in sweat pant and tank top shirt and threatened to threw me out.
I refused to leave again and they said they will call police to remove me from store, I said OK call the police and I talk to them.
After half an hour they did not call the police and I left since I had a medical appointment.
When you try to email the store or call corporate customer service, there is no option to complain or give feed back in the menus.
Please don`t buy any gift for your loved ones from Canadian Tire because they get stuck with it like me.
Just shop somewhere else with good customer service and return policy.
I will never go to Canadian Tire again and will share this story on line and with all my friends and colleagues.
A customer “review” the only purpose of which is to make a joke out of child beating and wife beating.
The following is a so-called customer review posted on your site on June 28, which appears under your product Select Natural Bamboo Stakes, 15-pk (18). 18 reviews #059-3037-8:
☆☆☆☆☆ 5 out of 5 stars. Mr NoneOfYourBusiness · 2 days ago
Rule of thumb
These work great, especially if you need to beat a kid or your wife! Super whippy, can get a real good swing out of it for that extra snap on contact.
Obviously this should never have been allowed to appear. Is anyone there vetting these things? Is it the company's position that it's OK to make jokes about wife beating and child beating? You're certainly condoning it by allowing it to be printed.
It's unbelievable to me that you allowed it to be printed. You owe an apology to all of your customers. I'd like you to please let me know when this has been done, preferably within a day. Ken Cohen ([protected]@icloud.com.)
Desired outcome: Printed apology in a permanent place on your website.
Store located at 1090 Hoover Park Dr, Whitchurch-Stouffville, ON L4A 0K2 - Terrible customer service
This last Sunday June 27th mid afternoon, I witnessed a horrible interaction between one of your employees and a store customer. I happen to know the customer as she herself is an employee in the retail customer service business. Over the years I have dealt with her many times. She is a kind, knowledgably, professional!. She is an immigrant who may at times not be able to express herself comfortably in English.
Your employee in question exploded at this customer with an obvious anger management problem. Most of your large store would have heard the outburst...I was several hundred feet away, heard it and witnessed the tail end.
Your manager on duty at the time did call the employee into his office. 10 minutes later she was on the floor again and yet again I heard go after a customer, but nothing like what I witnessed the first time.
I do not understand why this employee was not sent home ( with or with out pay depending on your policies).
This store is known locally for this terrible type of employee interactions with customers. I stay away from this store. Only reason I was there due to it having the item I needed, last one i stock locally. I normally shop at the store at Markham South / east...at Markham rd and 14th. Further to go, BUT far better service.
Your staff is in desperate need of training at this Stouffville outlet...possibly starting with the managers. The shame of course is someone has invested I assume millions in this operation.

Garage service
I am a Canadian tire store shopper my whole life and I am 75 love it... But recently I had one of the worse days ever there, took my jeep in because it was over heating, they said possibly rad and kept it, I said make sure, and that is written right on their bill of sale I have. So they called said yes rad, they put new one in $958.26 paid with my debit. They said possibly 4 hours. Well after 3 days I called they said oh ya it's ready, we called them not them call us? I picked up and went not even a mile and it blew. Took it back they said possibly an hour, so we asked did they have a loner car they said flat out no. I am a cancer patient and had appt. At 3.30 in redder took it in around 215 we were heading out to redder. Got out of your sitting room at 530 still with no jeep again overnight, they did not take out for a ride after putting in rad for sure. Or we would not have had their problems... Asked if anyone could just drive me up the hill to sylvan lake, 5 min. No called cab none in sylvan so kept trying, finally got one, paid $10.00 for that. They called nest morning and said oh it was the thermostat, $87.00. We were ignored the entire time. You call there they never answer their phone, you call over and over, not good for business. We were not even offered a drink of water, cancer is not nice I was burned out when I got home, I can't walk or I would have for sure but I have insufficient blood flow in both legs. So they sat around complaining about their jobs where we could here in the waiting room how you have 3 lines and only one person etc. etc. We don't care to complain to management. They were like 5 men working in garage, not busy. I found it to be so ignorant, and please do something about the $958.26 that we paid for a rad we did not need verses $87.00 wow. Please make sure the owner of this sylvan lake store sees this, as if I receive no answer, I will call a lawyer, and also spread word by putting this note on every car in sylvan, I am so mad and disgusted. That is only the shop. I love your store... Invoice #[protected] store #0655 phone [protected] my email [protected]@gmail.ca home phone [protected] thank you, Maureen Brian mills date of bill #655 operator 230 reg.51 trans14 [protected] I assure he owner needs to hear this as I probably am not the first one and sylvan lake is small all the business you can get is needed. Not answering phones don't help either. We took it there for them to find the problem, they are supposed to be the professionals... Seniors don't have money, thank you for your time to read this...
